Chapter 16
"I've given you enough time, haven't I?" Liam said with a smug smirk, causing Nicole to startle.
It had been a whole week since her encounter with him in the forest. It seemed like he had been purposely avoiding her until that moment. In the meantime, she discovered so many more things about Alpha Liam and his pack. Firstly, although his pack members adored him, they were still terrified of him. There are rumors that once he went out of control, it was almost impossible to put him in check.
But then they didn't walk around with fear like the pack members of Crimson. It was like mutual respect and she found it very refreshing. Then there was the matter of him and his women. According to Asha, most of them were obsessed with him and always trying to seek his attention.
"But everyone knows that he's incapable of what they ask for. He only uses them to fulfill his needs and make sure that they stay comfortable. He doesn't ask for much, but then these women begin to feel like they can tame a beast," she said to her one evening. Nicole didn't let herself think too much about it, instead, she tried to focus on getting used to her new reality and trying to understand what exactly Alpha Liam intended for her.
Nicole had never been so bored and idle in her entire life. Even when she was still with her parents, all she did was work, work, and work some more. Even as lone wolves, they never had enough and were barely able to cater for their needs.
Whenever she thought about it, she felt like they were training her to become a slave. It made it easier for them to sell her off to Alpha Shane and not care about her well-being.
Nicole sighed and looked into Alpha Liam's blue eyes. Like always, it was clouded with arousal, causing her to tremble. Her eyes darted around the large pack kitchen which had been brimming with people a few seconds ago. The slice of cake which she was about to put into her mouth hung in the air as she stared at him.
Sparks crackled between them and the intensity of his gaze threatened to scorch her.
He smirked and folded his arms. Her eyes followed the movement of his inked arms and wandered to his chest. He was clad in a tee but she could still see the outlines of his abs. It gave her flashbacks from her night with him. Sometimes it annoyed her that she had been too drunk to appreciate the experience.
Liam chuckled, "Cat got your tongue, Nicole?" He asked.
Nicole sighed and her eyes fluttered close at the sound of her name on his lips. The sound of his low growl sent shivers down her spine.
"Open your eyes, Nicole." He hissed.
One of Nicole's hands gripped the countertop to keep her legs from buckling under at the sound of his voice. It reminded her of the night at the bar. She slowly opened her eyes and locked her gaze on his.
The rim of his pupils was golden now and she could feel, just by his stare, the things he was capable of doing to her. It was like he was making silent promises, the type that declared extreme pleasure. It was like she could hear him promise in her head. "Eat your cake, your hand is hanging in the air," Liam informed her.
Nicole gulped and bit her lips, she was slow at comprehending his words because her mind and maybe her soul were somewhere else. In that somewhere else, she wasn't frozen solid. He had pinned her against the refrigerator and tortured her with kisses. "Nicole," he growled.
She snapped back to reality and looked at her hanging arm. She didn't know how she wasn't feeling any pain.
He was breathing faster now, "Eat," he commanded, and automatically, her hand pushed the slice of cake into her mouth.
She bit into the soft cake and moaned. It was so unlike her to moan over something as basic as cake, but it was like she had been possessed by something.
He let out a low growl and swallowed as she slowly chewed her cake slice. His eyes were fixated on her lips as he licked his lips every time she took a bite.
Liam may have been in a lot of t*****e from watching her, but Nicole felt worse. She would have collapsed if not for the support of the counter. Her legs had turned into some kind of rubber.
When she finished, she licked her lips to wipe off the crumbs that had been stuck to her lips.
A little blue remained on Liam's pupils. It was almost gold now and those eyes burned holes in her lips. Like always, Nicole's wolf was in a frenzy. Its excitement made her feel lightweight like paper. She was so wet that her p***y juice had soaked her panties. Her core throbbed in anticipation and all the wet dreams she had experienced flashed before her mind.
"Nicole," Liam hissed after what seemed like an eternity, "you haven't answered me."
Answer? Was there a question in the first place? Her mind was swarmed with naughty thoughts that she didn't recall any questions.
Unconsciously, she rubbed her wet thighs together to hold back the demand from her p***y. Her wolf was impatient now. If something didn't happen, it would take control and launch itself at Liam.
She vaguely remembered why she couldn't be the one to make the first move. It had something to do with other female werewolves throwing themselves at Alpha Liam. She would be damned if she stooped that low.
Liam had avoided Nicole like a plague and buried himself in work. He avoided every conversation that had to do with her and made sure to only get information from Asha concerning her.
As Garrett had advised, he made sure he was with someone all through the day. He attended meetings, visited pack members, helped to find homes for the new few who had joined his pack, and did all the things he had been procrastinating.
He had never been so productive, yet so frustrated. At night he still had to battle with his demons which had become thoughts of hers. His wolf grew more uncontrollable by the day and he knew that time was running out for him.
When he walked into the kitchen that evening, he had been famished and exhausted from all the work and excessive workouts he used to keep himself occupied. He was so blind with hunger that he didn't notice her presence until he was staring directly at her. He had never known that eating cake would be something so sexy and alluring until he saw her do it.
Damn! He thought to himself. All the restraint he used on himself was weakening as each second went by. She bit her sexy lips now and his wolf howled within him.
Holy hell, Nicole was by far the most gorgeous female he had come across and her scent was. Her scent would be the death of him. His heart skipped a beat as he remembered that if he took her the way he wanted, he would lose his attraction to her. He quickly pushed the thought away and stared into her enchanting eyes.
Those hazel pools looked more golden than green as they mirrored the arousal in his own eyes. Liam had never wanted anyone so badly. The little mocking voice in his head told him that having s*x with Nicole four or five times would not satisfy his insatiable appetite for her. He immediately shut it down and focused on the present.
He couldn't tell if it was magical, but her hair glowed. And her rosy skin was glittering. Her eyes were brighter. Staying in the Dark Moon had done a lot to make her look better. He wasn't certain if she had added a little flesh though. And those lips, those sexy devilish lips. His d**k was already pulsing in his pants and he hoped that she wouldn't look down.
Nicole was different, other ladies would have jumped on him and initiated a kiss but she stood although her legs trembled.
A f*****g different breed. He thought. His wolf was highly impressed. Everything about Nicole made his wolf jump for joy. It refused to pick out a single flaw in the lady standing before him. Liam couldn't fault his wolf though, he too couldn't see a single thing that was wrong with her.
She was perfect.
He had become tired of waiting and stepped closer until their bodies pressed together. He had to stifle a moan. She was so soft, even softer than he remembered. He bent and inhaled her maddening scent.
He wasn't holding her yet, because if he did, he knew his control would snap and that he would take her right there.
'Maybe I could steal a little kiss,' he thought to himself as he bent to her lips. He knew though that if he started he wouldn't stop, but he couldn't resist.
Nicole sighed and reached up to him. She could feel his bulge and it made her body buzz with excitement. She didn't know what she was doing. She didn't know if it was even the right thing, but she had stopped thinking clearly for as long as she could remember. She wanted him. She had missed him and it was driving her loco.
How could she miss someone that she barely knew? Her body and wolf felt different from her. They behaved like they had known him for eternity.
"Nicole," she heard his strained voice pierce through the haze in her head.
"Yes," she whispered.
Their lips were inches apart. She could feel his breaths coming hot, hard, and fast on her face. She wondered why he was torturing her. When it was clear from the bulge poking at her and oversaturating her nerve endings, that he wanted her and wanted her badly. It was a novel feeling for her. Shane had never wanted her.
"Don't you dare think of that bastard when you're with me!" He gritted onto her lips.
Nicole's eyes snapped open. She questioned his ability to read her mind. His eyes flashed to gold and back. His arousal mixed with fury.
"Never think of him again," he commanded.
Nicole trembled. If only he knew that thoughts of Shane hadn't occurred to her in days. It had always been him. After their night together, he took charge of her mind and memories.
"Yes Alpha," she found herself whispering.
Their lips brushed and they simultaneously let out groans.
"F**k!" he growled, grabbing her waist and drawing her into his body. He claimed her lips kissing roughly as the dams of control shattered.
Just then, the door swung open and someone exclaimed.
"Oops."
They immediately flew apart panting.
Nicole held her chest. While Liam looked at the intruder and let out an ear-splitting groan.
Damn!
