Mate to a king

Chapter 2

- Bloom -
I ran and ran as fast and as careless as I could out of that horrid place, through the dense and thick trees and foliage of the
woods.
Crossing the border of my pack, I immediately became a rogue, I swear that that was the best thing I had ever done, especially
with my newly ex-mate on a rampage after me like a bat out of hell.
I kept running and running until my wolf was urging at my brain, giving me a banging migraine, to come out of hiding. If she could
talk I guaranteed she would have been shouting at me. Something along the lines of ‘you stupid idiot, give me a chance to save
your ass here!’ Or ‘I’m sorry I left you to go through that, but let me out!’

I knew If I wanted even a minor survival chance, I had to let her gain all the control, she was, of course, a massive part of my
conscience, I was so tired that I had no other choice.
My wolf is called Lilthe and was said to have been named, quite fittingly, by the Goddess herself in order to help protect me, at
least that's what my mother told me anyway.
Tears started streaming down my face as I remembered everything about her. Her beautiful dark brown eyes that seemed like
bottomless pits when you stared intently at them, and her glowing mousy hair, the exact same shade as mine coincidently. I took
after her quite a lot personality wise too I’d like to believe.
She died trying to protect me during the newly names Blood moon war, having been between mine and Aidens’ pack seven
months ago, which actually was five months before I met Aiden too.
She was killed for me.
She died trying to protect me.
Died trying to protect my siblings.
It left just me, my sister and brother.
My dad died in the next war against Aiden, the one that had just transpired Over me, something so petty and needless. He had
been protecting my older brother who was now twenty.

We were born relatively close together, Josh, my brother, was born eight months before Sierra, my sister, and I was born nine
months after her. I don’t understand why my parents ever decided that was a good idea. Why did they want to have us kids so
close together anyway? I mean it did make us incredibly close and able to protect each other, especially as I was in the same
year at school as Sierra, so she was like my best friend in all aspects.
You see our packs’ Wolves pregnancy's only last five months. The pain my mother had to go through I can all but just imagine.
Most wolves last six or seven but not us.
It was told we were blessed by the moon goddess herself in honour of the new moon day. Of course we were. The new moon
day happens once a year, it is said to be the day that the Moon Goddess was born. On this day, the moon seems to shine a
slither brighter and fuller than typically, the sky also turns purple for a minute, this marks the moment of beginnings.
This was the time when our pack was created by my great (x fifty) uncle had become the alpha of only a group of about twenty
people, a great number for a starter pack. These twenty people had been random rogues he had picked up on his travels around
the continent, when he had gone in search of riches and knowledge most people he had grown up with had never heard of.
My Granddad told me stories about him and when he was younger. Apparently his name was Gelami, weird name isn't it but one
of a kind I always told myself, I had always been very proud of my family's history.
My pack were pretty much all be dead by then and Aiden was after me, I could just smell him.
Even my wolf despised the jerk!
I ran further until a man around the height of 6'7, he was a freaking giant, pushed into me, dragging me with him through a bush
that stabbed into me as the brambles grazed my ribs, and into a large field full of no life whatsoever, that looked the size of the
world from where I was standing, well lying seems more fitting in this situation.
What was I even doing there?
"What are you doing here rouge?" An unfamiliar voice echoed in my head, it seemed to bounce from side to side for a moment,
before settling in the front.
Funny, I had just asked myself that same question not moments ago.
I shuddered and fell back, terrified of these people. I mean who wouldn’t be, I’d just witnessed a full on massacre and now these
terrifying men were after me.

The tone of his voice was strong but not an Alphas' strong, he must be a Beta, A very powerful one at that.
"SHIFT!" The man shouted. I shook my head, not realising that it would be my wolfs’ head shaking.
Would I really shift when I had no clothes to cover myself afterwards? Idiot.
"I said shift now!” He shouted again, his face and neck turning crimson with pure, concentrated rage.
I reluctantly shifted, making sure I had covered myself as fast as possible with my arms no less, so they didn’t provide for much
cover.
"State your name Rogue,” He once again shouted, squeezing my arms tighter to stop me moving. Now as he’d got a hold on my
arms, you can guess what he had left uncovered.
"Bloom sir,” I replied strongly, finding my courage again as I kept my head turned down to show submission. It was starting to get
oddly cold.
"Go get the alpha,” He ordered, a knowing look filling his eyes briefly, only to be quickly replaced with one of nonchalance.
What?
I internally screamed, hearing that the alpha was getting involved. That never is a good sign. Nothing good ever came from
getting out the big guns in these situations.
I suddenly senses the most amazing scent filling my nose, making my wolf purr in utter contempt and happiness.
"The alpha is here!" another new voice said whilst I was being poked roughly by the man who dragged me here with a sharp
dagger. Urging me to keep still as they pushed me back away from this ‘alpha’.
"MINE,”a voice shouted making me melt in happiness, no way!
"Stop touching her, she's MINE" I heard him growl in anger at the man next to me who was poking me, but he began to retreat in
fear, “and get her some damn clothes!”
"Yes Alpha," The person who had been dragging me answered obediently, dashing away with his tail between his legs, not
literally but you get the idea, to a tree, where he chucked me a t-shirt and pair of boxer-shorts. Which I rushed to pull on in an
attempt to gain some of my dignity back. I don’t care what other people say, not all wolves are nonchalant about nudity, some
actually wish to remain decent and covered.

This alpha person began smirking at me, but in a very playful kind of way, until he ran up to me and carried me bridal style,
running towards this huge building
"Woah, this place looks massive,” I stared in awe at the amazing building in front of me.
How could this have been happening to me and today of all days too, it started horrid and ended up with me finding my Second
chance mate? My life for sure had taken a turn for the worst!
I had rejected Aiden and met my new mate, He cannot try and claim me back, the bond is well and truly destroyed. It would ruin
us and my chance of survival if he tries coming even close too. Hopefully this new mate of mine would actually protect me from
the horrors of that reality.
