Mate to a king

Chapter 18

Bloom.
Who would have thought it.
The most dreadful thing, well what I thought was anyway, actually turned out to be me assuming the worst.
James has been nothing but a sweetheart over the past few days I have been back in the castle with him. Today, well today is
the day I never look forward to. The day he introduces me as one, his queen, and two, to his family. What if they don't like me?
What if they think I'm not good enough?
I felt warm arms around me, I think James knows I'm panicking. Well, it's not hard considering I am visibly sweating and shaking
like a mad thing.
Oh yeah, this whole mum thing. Well she is living in the castle a few rooms down from me and James actually.
The timing of her arrival was just, incredible. She explained the whole situation to me. Dad really was dead on the other hand.
My brother, the one who was a month older than me, apparently died three months ago. When mum told me this I wouldn't stop
crying. He was my world when we were younger, we would go on expositions together, visit new country's, when I was almost
killed trying to help fight rogues during one attack when we were five. That last one makes me laugh a little. He saved me that
day.
A rogue was chasing after me, and he killed it.
Mum also explained why she had to fake death and run away.
She was under the command of a Alpha that goes by the name of Calvin, to protect me from Aiden. They clearly did the job.
Look at me now. Rid of the monster, well, except that note which still haunts my past.
We haven't had a single note, word or even a letter since that time. I reckon he has just given up, or he sent that before he was
killed. To be honest all I care about is the present, not past or the future.
"Hey Bloom, you might need to get ready, we have an hour before I introduce you to the pack. The worst part is the wolf
community, but that won't be for a while yet." James said, stroking up and down my right arm, tickling my skin with sparks.

The whole part of me meeting the royal pack involves a sort of bonding ceremony.
He marks me, I mark him, we do the whole blood bond thingy to connect me to the pack, and then, I have to run away with him
for the night.
Sleep in the woods with him. Then I am officially a royal pack members, one step away from fully being queen. The whole
tradition means I have to wear a dress and it has to be a black and white ombré effect. I don't know why, but it is tradition.
I am going to wear the one every generation of queens for the last 6 generations.
This dress is supposed to represent peace and leadership.
The owner of the dress is supposed to show kindness through everything she does. No woman, man, child left behind.
This dress is beautiful.
A vision of perfection.
I went to take a shower. The water calming my tense muscles. Lord was I scared to meet the pack. Some can be so intimidating
that it scares the Luna away for good. This rarely happens, but there were some unfortunate cases.
I dressed in the beautiful dress, pairing it with some black heels.
A rose gold, silver studded ring and a light natural touch of makeup.
My hair was done by the pack stylist, Erin. Her skills were just to perfection. My hair was in a half up, half down, high up-do. Not
a hair out of place.
The person staring back at me in the mirror was a stranger. I could hardly recognise myself. The once forest green eyes, looked
stronger. The eyeshadow bringing them out, making them pop.
I just hope I can do this!
