Chapter Sworn Enemy Novel 76
-Chapter 76: Knocked Out Cold
Julian Jennings, who had recently helped her "catch a cheater," had now caught one himself. Sonya entered her villa, put down her fish snacks, poured herself some hot water, and brought out a bowl of sunflower seeds. She sat on the front steps, having a perfect view of the unfolding drama.
Julian Jennings was kicking Liam repeatedly, his rage consuming him. Liam was curled on the ground, groaning and writhing.
Seraphina West came out, crying and trying to pull Julian away.
"Stop! You'll kill him!"
Julian shoved her aside and yelled, "Seraphina West, I loved you for fifteen years! I treated you like a princess. You said you didn't love me, I waited. You said you loved someone else; heartbroken, I waited. What did I do to deserve this? You said you were pregnant with his child, but he has a wife, he couldn't marry you, so you wanted me to marry you. I did. You were having an affair, and I helped you cover it up. He was abandoned by his wife, in debt, you asked me for money to pay him off, and I gave it to you. You said you were breaking up with him, coming home to start over with me, I forgave you, but you were screwing him in my house!" "Seraphina West, do you think I'm pathetic? No matter what you do, I'll grovel at your feet like a dog?"
Seraphina West cried, shaking her head. "No, I promise this is the last time. I won't see him or contact him again."
"How many times have you promised me that?" Julian Jennings gritted his teeth "This is the truth! Julian, give me another chance," Seraphina West pleaded, clinging to his arm.
"You want another chance?"
Seraphina West nodded eagerly."I promise, I and him..."
"I want you to get rid of that baby!"
Seraphina West was stunned.
Julian Jennings sneered."Can't do it? Because it's his child? Too bad, I'm not raising his kid. I'm. not going to be a sucker!"
Seraphina West's face drained of color. She sank to the ground, realizing he was serious. Julian, you can't do this to me. You love me. How can you hurt me like this?" Julian Jennings scoffed. "All these years... my brain must have been filled with water! I gave up..." He kicked Liam again in a fit of rage.
"Get lost! Don't let me see you again!"
Liam scrambled away without looking back at Seraphina West.
Sonya shook her head, munching on her sunflower seeds. Liam was utterly spineless.
After Liam ran off, Seraphina West was still pleading.
"Julian, please, let me keep the baby."
Júlian Jennings ran a hand through his hair, frustrated. Impossible. Or you have another choice -
"No, Julian. I... I'm in love with you. I won't divorce you."
"You're in love with my money!"
"How can you think that about me? I... would I care about that much money?
"Then why did you come back?
back? Why did you ask me for money again?"
"I told you, it was for an investment."
"Heh, you think I'll believe you?"
"Believe me one more time," Seraphina West begged, clinging to him. The last time." Julian Jennings's face was dark. "How much do you want this time?" Twenty... twenty million."
"You really think I'm an idiot? You..."
Before he could finish, Julian Jennings's vision blurred. He stumbled backward, collapsing to the ground, unconscious.
Sonya was shocked. He'd actually fainted from anger.
She had dinner at the old house. Henry and Benjamin hadn't returned from work yet. Reynolds Hui was there, being scolded by Linda.
Seeing Sonya, Linda said to Reynolds Hui, "Apologize to your aunt."
Reynolds Hui stuck out her tongue, approached Sonya, and said, "Aunt Ella, I'm sorry. I wor make those kinds of jokes again."
Sonya guessed it was about Reynolds Hui pretending to be Henry's girlfriend. "It's fine. You didn't fool me."
Reynolds Hui was impressed.
"Aunt Ella, how did you know I was lying? What if Uncle really had a girlfriend?"
Sonya shook her head. "He wouldn't."
"You have that much faith in him?"
"Of course. Even if he fell for someone else, he wouldn't hide it from me. He's not that kind of
person."
husband like Uncle."
"Wow!" Reynolds Hui was envious."I wish I had Then she remembered Xiao Jingchuan and looked downcast.
Sonya and Linda exchanged glances, pulling Reynolds Hui onto the sofa, urging her to let go. "The sooner you see him for who he is, the less you'll lose."
Reynolds Hui nodded. "But I need you and Grandma to convince my parents to let me keep the baby."
Sonya frowned slightly. "You've made your decision? You really want to keep it?" Reynolds Hui nodded. "I've thought it through. I want my baby."
Henry didn't come for dinner. Sonya took the subway home after dinner. Leaving the station, she

walked along the road.
At a crossroads, she saw an elderly woman selling apples. Next to her was a wheelchair with a thin young man - her son, probably. The woman was thinly dressed, huddled behind her stand, while her son was covered with a thick blanket. His eyes were vacant, and he muttered to himself, showing signs of a mental condition.
It was cold and few people were out. She didn't have any customers.
'Sonya picked out a bag of apples, but seeing the woman's chapped hands, she felt compelled to buy the rest. The woman thanked her profusely and started bagging them, offering to deliver them.
Sonya couldn't carry four large bags herself, so she asked the woman to deliver them to the villa gate.
"Will

be alright alone?" Sonya asked, glancing back at the young man. The woman shook her head. "He's like a log. He can't move. Wherever you leave him, he stays." "Did something happen to him?" "He was beaten."
"That badly?"
"If I hadn't begged that man, my son would be dead."
Sonya gave three bags to the security guard to share with the others, keeping only one for herself. Late at night, Sonya was asleep when Henry returned, smelling strongly of alcohol. He showered and kissed her. "Jay invited me for drinks."
Sonya, flushed from his kisses, said, "What did he say?"
Henry undressed.
"What?"
her."I thought he
was going to apologize, but he said...
"That I wronged Jasmine Smith. Jasmine Smith? Who's that? Oh, John Smith's sister. How did I wrong her? He's crazy."
