Chapter 775
Chapter 775 Go to Theresa's!
Of course, Charlie didn't want to give Dick the chance.
But now, Theresa really seemed to be Dick's girlfriend.
Besides, she looked very happy with Dick by her side.
Roderick sighed, "Don't think about it anymore. Everyone has his or her own life. What Theresa is thinking about is the most important. She doesn't know that you are worried about her here. Since she chooses Dick, she should be responsible for her decision."
Charlie crushed the beer can in his hand.
He frowned and said, "I just hate myself for not treating her well when she was with me. I hate myself for letting her leave me and end up like this."
Roderick said in a deep voice, "Honestly, I was really worried about you when you got a divorce, but now that things have come to this point, you should try to get over it. You can't maintain the relationship between you two alone. Maybe you and she are just not meant to be. Don't force it."
Charlie picked up a glass and took a look at Roderick. Every time Charlie met some difficulties, Roderick was always there to comfort him. "Let's have a drink."
Roderick took a look at him and picked up a glass as well. But what Roderick drank was not wine, but
water.
He clinked glasses with Charlie and said, "Be optimistic, Charlie! Look at you. You shouldn't look like this. Theresa has nothing to do with you now. But you have two children. Take care of them!" After saying that, Roderick sighed inwardly and suddenly felt that he looked like a nanny.
He had to comfort Charlie and Charlie's wife and children every day.
What a wonderful life!
After drinking for a while, Charlie got hammered, and Roderick drove him home.
As soon as they got into the car, Charlie said, "Let's go to Theresa's."
"Are you sure you're going to meet her in such a state?" Roderick raised his eyebrows.
"Go to Theresa's!" Charlie repeated.
Noticing that Charlie didn't listen to him at all, Roderick said to Jonathan, who was sitting in the driver's seat. "Go to Theresa's."
Jonathan took a look at his boss and Roderick nodded and drove toward Theresa's residence.
Theresa was sitting on the bed, applying ointment prescribed by the doctor to Cristina's wound.
It could prevent scars from leaving on Cristina's face.
Cristina looked at Theresa and asked, "So, did Dick really say that he wants to marry you?"
Theresa sighed with resignation. "Yes, you are right."
"It's good news, isn't it? Why are you not happy at all?" Cristina asked. Theresa had had a sad face since she came back.
Theresa pursed her lips and forced a smile. "How do you know that I'm unhappy?"
"You're just unhappy, Cristina said. "You've always said that you want to draw a line with Charlie, but now
it seems that you're still not over him. You're worried about him, aren't you?"
It was so difficult to stop loving someone.
Even Theresa was no exception.
She had gone through a lot with Charlie, the highlight of her dark period.
How could she give up now?
Theresa denied awkwardly. "I'm over him."
Theresa always told herself that love was the most unworthy emotion in life.
But she still felt nervous when Cristina questioned her.
"Yes, you are." Cristina didn't call her bluff but just closed her eyes and patiently let Theresa apply medicine to her wound..
Suddenly, the sound of a car stopping came from downstairs. The doorbell rang, and Theresa's hand, which was applying ointment on Cristina's face, shook.
Cristina grabbed Theresa's hand and whispered, "All right. Go and have a look. It should be Charlie." Theresa screwed the lid on and put the ointment away before walking out of Cristina's room. Because Theresa had taken a shower, she went downstairs in pajamas and slippers. Roderick was standing in the living room, while Charlie was lying on the sofa as if he had gotten hammered. Brenda asked, "Why did Mr. Charlie drink so much?"
