Chapter 734
Chapter 734 You Can't Afford to Offend Her
Dick continued, "Cameron's Group is a very important part of my business. In the next few years, I plan to increase my investment and make it the best brand in the industry. I believe you are willing to lend me a hand, right?"
Jimmy replied, "Well, you know, to make it the best brand in the industry, it will take at least four to five years, and even more than six years if things don't go smoothly."
"I know," said Dick, still looking at Jimmy. "But for me, time is not a problem."
Jimmy widened his eyes upon hearing this. While time may not be a problem for Dick, it certainly was for him. He didn't want to spend his entire life in such a small company. 'If he insists, then there will be no point in me working for his company."
He had chosen the company because he sensed that it had the potential to compete with Charlie's company. With the help of it, he would have an opportunity to rise up and surpass Charlie. But Dick's plans would definitely stand in his way. Jimmy was an ambitious man who was eager for a bigger stage. If he couldn't get what he wanted from White's Group, he would leave it.
After pondering for a while, he asked Dick, "I don't understand why you are so focused on Cameron's Group. There are much better brand companies that you could work with, such as Blue Tower. I believe they would be more than willing to collaborate with you."
As long as Dick had the intention to search for another business partner, these big companies would be clamoring to work with him. There was no need for him to choose a time-consuming and labor-intensive company like Cameron's Group.
Dick wiped his long, slender fingers with the towel on the table, explaining, "I owe Theresa a favor and there's nothing else I can do to repay her. I should help her with Cameron's Group. Understand?"
Jimmy turned to Theresa instantly, wondering what favor Dick owed her.
Both Dick and Theresa ignored the confusion on his face, remaining silent.
Since Dick had expressed a clear stance, it was time for Jimmy to decide whether he should stay in White's Group or not. He was clear that it was impossible for him to work in the headquarter. After finishing their meal, Jimmy and Kole left the company. Outside the building, Kole looked at Jimmy sorrily, sighing. "It looks like you're out of luck. Dick and Theresa have a good relationship." Jimmy's face fell. He responded discontentedly, "I already know that."
Kole continued, "She's your ex-wife, isn't she? Maybe you should try to build a good relationship with her as well. You know, you can't afford to offend her, at least for now." He hinted that Jimmy would have got a great opportunity to enter Dick's company if he hadn't caused Theresa trouble.
Upon hearing this, Jimmy thought of Theresa, feeling frustrated. 'Would I never be able to escape her for the rest of my life? Would she be the biggest obstacle on my path to success?'
Seeing his upset look, Kole advised caringly, "Actually, I think you should consider going back to the Calsis family. When you were there before, Charlie went against you for Theresa, right? Now that she already divorced Charlie and left to work for Dick, maybe this is your chance to return to the Calsis family. You know what I mean?"
As Pat's son-in-law, if Jimmy went back to the family, it wouldn't be any worse than staying at Cameron's Group. However, although Kole's suggestion was reasonable, Jimmy still hesitated. While thinking of Charlie, he felt oppressed. If he really came back to that family, he had to read the expressions on Charlie's face every day.
After the meal, Theresa went upstairs to inform Dick, "I've got to leave. Get some rest."
His gaze falling on her, he suggested, "Let me walk you out."
"You're not going to bed?" She found it strange.
"Well, I want to see Leonard. Is it okay?" said Dick.
