It had happened so suddenly that Jackson was stunned.
Madeline intuitively tried to protect Jackson when suddenly a knife was placed at her back.
“Eveline, drive where I tell you to.“
The commanding voice of a woman came from behind her, and Madeline raised her eyes to glance at the rearview mirror. She
was not surprised at the face that appeared in the mirror.
“Eveline, did you hear me? I asked you to drive! “
“Why are you yelling at my mommy? Hurry up and get that dangerous thing away from my mommy! “ Jackson tried to stop her.
“Hmph, you little thing. I’d suggest that you do not talk. If you dare to speak again, I won’t be so courteous toward you! “ the
woman threatened.
“I’m driving now. Don’t argue with a child.“ Madeline glanced in the rearview mirror, lowered her eyes to Jackson, and hinted at
him, “Jack, don’t worry about me. She’s just playing a game with me.“
“Eveline, who wants to play games with you? You better know what’s good for you and don’t pull any stupid tricks! “ the woman
warned viciously.
Madeline furrowed her eyebrows and did not speak further.
When the light turned green, she started the car again and drove forward as the woman wanted.
Not long after, the car stopped at the six-star hotel under the Whitman Corporation’s name.
“Eveline, go to the rooftop, “ the woman ordered again.
Madeline answered calmly, “I can go to the rooftop with you, but you have to let my son stay here. The grudge between us adults
should not involve the child.“
“Mommy.“ Jackson frowned his cute brows and looked at Madeline with worry.
Madeline looked back and smiled comfortingly. “Be a good boy, Jack. I ‘ll be quick, and then I’ll take you home right away.“
“Eveline, don’t even think about seeing your son ever again if we don’t settle our grievances today.“

“Alright, we will resolve all our grievances today as you wish.“ Madeline smiled slightly, and before the woman could speak
again, she took the initiative to walk towards the elevator.
The woman quickly put away the knife in her hand and followed Madeline.
After a while, the elevator reached the rooftop.
Madeline took the lead to walk to the rooftop. The winter wind blew on her face and instantly messed up her hair.
She righteously faced the woman who was closing the rooftop door. She was still very calm and collected.
With a bang, the woman slammed the door shut before turning to stare at Madeline.
“Madeline, are you scared now?”
Madeline frowned. “I’ve never done anything against my conscience, so why would I be afraid? “
“How dare you say that.”
“Of course, I don’t,” Madeline replied firmly. “ However, Miss Bolton, do you know what you are doing these days?”
When Hannah heard this, she was stunned for a few seconds. Her eyes then turned red as she stared at Madeline. “What did I
do? What have I done?
Eveline, what do you mean by that?”
Madeline smiled unhurriedly and parted her lips. She then took the photos that were sent to her that were taken secretly from her
coat pocket. “Are these hints enough?” When Hannah saw those photos, her expression suddenly changed. “Eveline, y-you
knew I was stalking you and taking pictures of you secretly?”
