Married at First Sight

“God knows. I was extremely scared at that time. When I received a call from Serenity, saying that you were attacked, my soul
left my body.”
Callum gently caressed Camryn’s neck with both his hands, burying his head in her neck, unable to resist stealing a sniff and
occasionally kissing her cheek. As he continued to kiss her, he decisively adjusted her head and sealed her rosy lips.
Right after a kiss, Callum sat on a chair.
He held Camryn in his arms.
Callum tightly embraced her waist, and she felt the pressure on his arms. She adjusted his grip and softly said, “Don’t exert so
much force, it feels like you’re going to break my waist.”
Callum immediately loosened his grip.
“I was scared,” he murmured.
“I was scared that something would happen to you.”
“Fortunately, Serenity happened to be there and saw you. If she didn't know martial arts, you would have been taken away by
them.”
Callum felt a wave of lingering fear thinking about the consequences.
“It means I still have good fortune.”
Callum pressed her head against his chest and said, “Dr. Carden will complete her postpartum recovery this month. Once she
recovers, I will go and personally invite her to come and treat your eyes again.”
Camryn’s inability to see made her vulnerable to accidents.
Even if something happened, she could not describe the appearance of the culprit because she could not see.
“Don’t keep urging Dr. Carden. Wait until she completes the full forty days before inviting her. When a woman gives birth, her
body is greatly weakened, and she needs proper rest and recuperation. Even if Dr. Carden has a good temper and tolerates you,
her husband, Mr. Tim, won’t.”

She heard from Serenity that Tim was very unhappy with Callum having always pestered Dr. Carden to treat her eyes.
The thing was, Dr. Carden was previously in the late stages of her pregnancy when Callum started bugging her, and now she
was in postpartum healing. With Callum’s incessant hounding, of course Tim would get irritated.
Callum was doing it all for Camryn’s sake.
How would Tim not feel sorry for his wife?
The men of Johnsons and the Yorks were similar in the way that they doted on their wives.
“It’s not like I constantly bothered Dr. Carden. With her prominent status, how would I dare be a nuisance to her?”
Callum defended himself. “I used to frequent the FC Manor, just because I wanted to ask the legendary doctor’s help. However,
he was very elusive. Even meeting up with his family proved to be a tall task. Dr. Carden also could clearly see my intentions.
“She promised me that the first thing she would do after recuperating is to treat your eyes. She asked me not to count on asking
her mentor for help, as he rarely treats patients anymore.
“However, it is true that Tim’s face turned sour after seeing me. No, his face turned gloomy right after hearing my name. To the
unknown eye, they would have thought that I wanted to steal that person’s wife and kids.”
Camryn felt amused but touched.
She was deeply touched by Callum’s determination to help heal her eyes. Even when he was being hated by Tim, he boldly
visited FC Manor for help.
At the same time, she was amused by Callum’s self-deprecating humor.
“Callum.”
She raised her head and caressed Callum’s face with her hands. Callum responded in kind by lowering his head and caressing
her face as she did.
“Thank you for doing so much for me.”
“We’re going to be united as husband and wife, as a family. You don’t have to be so formal.”

Callum shushed Camryn by placing his fingers gently on her lips.
