Married at First Sight

Chapter 2056

Once his subordinate caught the person who dared to make Camryn pass out, he would mercilessly strike his neck, letting him
taste the feeling of being knocked out.
As Camryn reached out to grab Callum, he quickly extended his hand to let her grab onto it.
After she grasped his hand, she pulled him closer and sniffed him. After picking up his scent, Camryn then relaxed and released
her grip on his hand.
“Camryn?”
Callum was puzzled.
Camryn said, “Let’s get back into the car first. Are we almost home? We can talk at home.”
“We’re almost home. Okay, let’s talk at home. Is the back of your neck hurting?”
“It hurts.”
“Once we get back, I’ll help you apply some ointment.”
Camryn did not say anything and slowly fumbled her way back into the car.
Soon, the car started moving again.
Before long, they arrived at the Newman residence.
Callum wanted to carry his fiancée inside, but Camryn refused. In her own home, she did not need anyone to lead the way. She
was already familiar with every inch of her home as she had lived here for over twenty years.
“Ms. Newman, Mr. York.”
The housekeeper came out of the house and greeted them respectfully.
Camryn did not respond to the housekeeper’s greeting and walked past him with a calm expression.
The housekeeper was used to Camryn’s attitude.
They harbored their own intentions toward Camryn and were not completely loyal to her.

Camryn did not replace all of them because she knew they were more loyal to Mr. York.
She would have done so long ago if they had displayed any disloyalty.
Furthermore, Callum had invited some people from the York family into the mansion. Camryn had even more trust and value for
those invited. As a result, the presence of the housekeeper was further diminished.
After entering the mansion, Camryn went straight upstairs.
Callum silently followed her as she walked. Her room had soundproofing materials installed, providing effective sound insulation.
Whenever there was something important to discuss with him, she would bring him into her new room.
Previously, as the heiress of the Newman family, Camryn was not allowed to live on the second floor and was forced to share a
room with a nanny.
However, once Cain and Paige moved out with their beloved daughter, Camryn quietly seized control of the Newman family’s
power. She would no longer allow herself to endure any grievances.
She selected two well-lit rooms on the second floor, had them connected, and underwent renovation and decoration. Now her
room also had a small study, where she and Callum would discuss important matters.
“Do you want anything to drink?” Callum asked after entering the study.
She sat down at the desk and leaned back against the chair, relieving the strain on her neck.
“I’m not thirsty.”
Nevertheless, Callum still poured a glass of warm water for her.
“What exactly is going on? Who were they? Do you know them?
“From now on, it’s safer to have bodyguards by your side at all times for added security.”
It was a settled matter that Camryn would marry Callum and become the second young mistress of the York family. He thought
that no one would dare lay a hand on her.
Little did he expect that there were still audacious individuals who feared nothing.

“I left your company and walked to the bus stop outside. They parked the car in front of me, and then I heard heavy footsteps
and your voice. You said you were worried about me going back alone and insisted on escorting me back to the store.”
“Me?”
Callum’s face turned grim. “They disguised themselves as me and deceived you into getting into the car.”
