Make Me

Chapter EPILOGUE

The dark room had a less than friendly atmosphere, given the thick smell of blood, and other body fluids one can possibly imagine, not to mention the subtle, but quite distinctive and ominously sweet scent that black magic carried. Directly across from the locked entrance, a man sat on the floor, his back against the wall, panting and grunting ever so often, when the pain became too much to handle. With his feathery, white wings trembling, like leaves in the light breeze, he appeared delicate and easy to break, despite being a supernatural being.

"I don't need your mercy... Kill me, if you wish so" he spat, a repulsed expression on his angelic face, as he brushed a few blonde locks out of his eyes.

"In that case, I'm overjoyed to inform you, my partner does not understand the concept of mercy anyway. You two will get along, just fine" the infamous demon retorted sarcastically, leaning against the wall from across the hostage. The angel was not even slightly relieved by this new information, and though he hoped it didn't show much, he was more than nervous to meet his... partner.

He, of course, knew who the demon was. Everyone did for hundreds of years now, but especially since that incident five years ago... Chaos's second massacre. But can you really call it Chaos's alone? No... It's always the two of them, like fire and gasoline, both are to blame for the tremendous damage they cause in the world around them.

Swallowing a little, the angel anxiously glanced at the door, awaiting the boy to arrive... What would he do to him? Judging from what he heard in heaven, he was done for, wasn't he? He was there, at the cleaning... as they carried away all those dead blessed... it burned in his memory forever, that smell, all that blood on the floor, presumably from the monster, who caused all that death to occur that day.

Before he could've spent any more time agonizing over his inevitable fate, he began noticing a gut wrenchingly slow clattering sound, from outside the building, which was coming closer and closer with each second. The suspense tensed up every inch of his body, and as the of that signature silver cane flashed before his eyes, he already knew:

Chaos was nearing the house.

His suspicion soon became blatant reality, when the door swung open, revealing the other member of that rotten duo.

Although, the young angel was already prepared to see Chaos eye-to-eye, the sight struck him more than he would've imagined. The boy changed drastically in those 5 years, and now, he was... barely recognizable, at least for someone who didn't see him often.

He was slightly taller than before, and his brown hair grew out enough to hit his shoulders, but these weren't the things that left the angel in shock.

That once boyishly charming face, became rough and hard to look away from, accompanied by a mismatched pair of eyes, sparkling with dark, ravenous hunger. That deep, wide scar that ran across the left side of his face, gave a sort of unnerving, sharp look to his features, all the while, the man itself still looked ill, or at least, not fully alive, and older than he was supposed to be... If he had to guess, he would've said Chaos was in his early thirties, though he knew for a fact that the boy was barely 25 at this point.

He was so pale... his eyes so tired, yet refusing to rest for even a second... especially that crimson, left eye... The angel had the shivers, just from the man's mere gaze.

"I see you've already had fun without me" Chaos spoke up, glancing to his partner, who, for the first time in a while, showed any emotion on his face, that being a sly, almost flirtatious smile.

The angel was both disgusted and enthralled by the way the two interacted with small twists of their lip, and barely noticeable side-looks, especially since, whenever they weren't looking at each other, their gaze was so violent and cruel, it was hard to imagine they could show genuine emotions towards anyone.

"I tried, but he didn't really talk. He either knows nothing, or he is just even kinkier than you are" Judas remarked, only earning a scolding look from the other man, before he walked further into the room. It was apparent, that he had no need for that walking-stick, yet it couldn't be denied, that it was already part of the persona, and completed the Victorian-vampire look very well. The question is... why wasn't the silver burning his hand?

"Filthy sinners" the angel spat out, as Chaos stopped about a foot away from him, now focusing that damned pair of eyes fully on the boy.

"That we are, indeed... It's not hard to get on Santa's naughty list, now, is it?" the man chuckled low, as his red eye slowly began glowing. The angel pushed himself back even more, but there was no place for him to escape whatever was coming... he couldn't see anything yet, but he could sense a powerful, and dark presence looming over them suddenly.

"I'll be simple and short. Which angel owns Veronica?" accompanied by the question, a dark purplish smoke, slowly began crawling towards the boy, cornering him like a bunch of snakes, waiting for their master's demand. Would this be Chaos's newly obtained power? What was it exactly?

The angel swallowed again, glancing back up at the half-demon thing he couldn't call human anymore, and with trembling lips, he answered:

"I don't know... She was supposed to be a helper of Leon-"

"I. KNOW. THAT." Chaos snapped suddenly, and the boy jumped from the sudden change of mannerism, frightened by the man in front of him. He pulled his knees to his chest, trying to take up as little space as possible, since the purple smoke marched at him, or more specifically, at the wall around him. The surface it came in contact with, began having an odd, purplish decolouration, all the while it appeared that the wall is slowly dissolving.

Chaos raised his hand covering his left eye as if he was in pain, then after a few seconds of struggle, let his arm down, his expression hiding most of his agony now.

"Seth" Judas spoke up softly, as if to try and ease the other's mood, and apparently, successfully, since the shorter man took a deep breath, and adjusted a button on his shirt, faking calmness quite well, despite his chaotic gaze revealing his true state of mind.

"Look... Nobody knows more than I, that our friend over here, is a sadistic monster..." Chaos continued, motioning towards his lover with a hidden smile in the corner of his lips, as Jude and he shared a look, amused by an inner joke. The angel frowned in discomfort, as he noticed that Chaos didn't mean those words as an offense... "So, I, of all people, do not want to leave you to his care..." he then paused, his malicious eyes darting back to the petrified hostage. "...But I will... if I must"

The angel, more than shocked by that living-breathing personification of instability that Chaos appeared to be just now, struggled to speak up, despite his want to defy the duo.

"I'm not going to help you, no matter what you do to me" he stated, surprisingly sternly in the given situation, which to he received the most horrifying, yet small and timid smile, that he had ever seen anyone wearing. "Oh my, I'm not going to kill you... What kind of man do you take me for?" Chaos tilted his head to the right, resembling a predator if anything, while widening his cruel smile. "In fact, I'll try my best to follow Heaven's procedure for punishing those, who get in their way..." the more he spoke, the less the angel felt like he could breathe. As panic rushed through every bit of his body, he realized what Chaos had planned out in his sick mind and began shaking from fear. "P-please... Please don't," the boy trembled out horrified, obviously only entertaining the man before him. He watched, as Chaos took out The Knife of The Blessed from a small blade-holder on his side and dragged the tip of his index finger across its edge as if to test if it's still sharp or not. Only after these suffocating few seconds of the monster inspecting his weapon, did his mismatched, wicked pair of eyes flash back to the angel.

"There are experiences, that change someone... once and for all" Seth began as if he was trying to give a charismatic speech to that poor soul "Thanks to a mutual friend of ours, I know how it feels, to have those pretty little wings cut off from your back... And our dear Jude, knows even more about that subject, don't you dear?" he gestured towards his lover theatrically, who just gave a small nod, letting the younger one has his little moment of fun with the angel.

"Tell me, how can I kill Veronica... Or be one of the demons you despise so much," he gave the boy one last chance to speak, who at this point, was so terrified he could barely contain his erupting screams.

"I know only one God. As long as he loves me, I do not fear to be thrown to hell," his words were barely audible, yet, considering the circumstances, it was possibly the bravest (or most suicidal) thing to say. Receiving the answer, Chaos offered the same condescending smile and words, that his almost-executor did, while watching him choke on his own blood.

"I admire your courage, boy."
