Chapter 2140
The rays of dawn were not as strong. They gently fell on their bodies. It felt very nice to have a thin layer of warmth enveloping them.
Soon, Jeremy brought breakfast over. He enjoyed this warm and leisurely breakfast with his wife and sons.
"It feels better without an eyesore around. " Jeremy sipped his coffee and sighed emotionally.
"I wonder how long she can keep up the act. I hope she knows when to stop. I really don't want to keep dealing with her." Madeline smiled. She was supporting her youngest son on her lap and feeding him milk gently.
Jackson felt unexpectedly jealous when he saw this scene.
"Mommy, I want a hug too. You haven't hugged me in a long time." Jackson blinked his big eyes. He looked very aggrieved as he tried to compete for his mother's love with his brother.
Madeline knew that when Jackson was as young as Pudding, she did not manage to take good care of him and love him as much.
Of course, she would be more than happy to hug Jackson now that he was asking for it.
"Jack, please wait for a while. I'll hug you until you don't want to be hugged anymore after Pudding is done eating."
"Okay, I'm willing to wait for you. I'm willing to wait no matter how long it'll take. " Jackson smiled innocently, his eyes filled with the image of his mother whom he loved and admired the most. However, this sentence sounded strange to Jeremy.
"Cough, cough." He coughed a little deliberately and reached out his hand to pull Jackson into his lap. "Your mommy has no time to hug you now, so let me hug you instead.“
"Daddy's hug doesn't smell as good as mommy' s." Jackson did not turn away from it. At this moment, he only wanted to nestle in his mother's arms and fight with his little brother.
"You have such a sweet mouth, you little thing. I think a lot of girls will be charmed by you in the future."
"I don't want other girls. I only like two girls- Mommy and Lily," Jackson said proudly, his big eyes filled with firmness.
Jeremy was a little impressed with Jackson. He was not good at flirting, but his son's mouth was so sweet.
Madeline lowered her eyes to look at the little boy in her arms. He had just finished drinking the milk in his bottle with satisfaction. Madeline was about to take Jackson from Jeremy when coincidentally, her phone rang.
When she saw the caller ID, she felt inexplicably remorseful.
She did not hesitate before she picked up the phone.
"Ava."
Jeremy noticed that Madeline's expression looked a little solemn. When he saw that it was Ava, his worries and doubts were gone in an instant.
He held Jackson and was listening to Madeline talk. He looked like he was not eavesdropping but was listening intently.
After a few words, Madeline hung up.
"Was it Ava?" Jeremy asked even though he already knew. "You guys haven't seen each other in a long time. Why don't you go meet her? I'll watch Jack and Pudding."
Madeline had the same idea, so she handed her son to Jeremy and asked the driver to drive her out.
Madeline and Ava had not seen each other for a long time, but there was not an air of awkwardness between them at all. The two still held hands as before when they met each other. It was as if they were still students. This scene looked so simple, beautiful, and comfortable.
Madeline also felt that true friends did not need to particularly rely on anything to maintain their friendship because it was all in their hearts.
However, even though they were smiling, Madeline kept feeling that Ava seemed to be faking it.
"Ava, have you encountered any troubles? You sounded hesitant to say something on the phone just now." Madeline did not beat about the bush and asked directly.
"Sigh, "Ava sighed and sat down on the bench in the park by the road. "Maddie, do you think I have to go through a heart-wrenching test?"
Madeline quickly understood what Ava meant. "Ava, what happened between you and Dan? What's wrong with your relationship? Don't be so pessimistic. As long as your relationship is true, it'll be difficult for external forces to separate you two."
