Madam, Your Ex-Husband Is On Call

Chapter 88 Excuse

Chapter 88 Excuse

Christian was shocked and didn't quite believe it.

Anastasia soon calmed herself down. Judging from Christian's reaction just now, he probably doubted her people.

She said indifferently, "If it was one of us, we wouldn't chase that woman, would we?"

Christian glanced at Anastasia with mixed feelings.

The veins on his arms tightened. He turned around and went to Beatrice's ward.

Beatrice was drinking water with lingering fear when she heard the door being slammed open.

She was startled.

"Christian?"

There was a bit of nervousness in her surprised expression.

Christian threw the dagger on the table and asked with a harsh tone, "Did you do it?"

"What, what did I do?"

Beatrice quickly suppressed her nervousness and stood there with an innocent look.

Christian's face darkened. His voice was cold.

"You washed away the fingerprints with alcohol. There is a surveillance camera in that ward. Don't you admit it?"

Beatrice's face turned pale. At last, she said with a calm voice, "I admit it. I did it. I heard from the nurse that it would be cleaner to sterilize it with alcohol. The dagger was dirty. I just wanted to help Ms. Graves clean it."

Christian's face darkened. His voice was cold and harsh.

"Who asked you to do it? Why did you meddle in something that didn't concern you? Do you have anything to do with that murderer?"

He got closer and closer to Beatrice. His eyes were cold, and his aura was oppressing.

Beatrice's face turned pale with fright. She stood there blankly, tears streaming down her face.

"Murderer? I just wanted to help..."

Charlie, who had just been coaxed, started crying again. Beatrice immediately ran over, hugged him, and began to cry.

Christian was angry and suspicious. He frowned, and his tone was cold.

"I hope she has nothing to do with you, or you should know what the consequences will be!"

The dagger was the only evidence, but it was deliberately washed clean with alcohol.

Beatrice did that. How could he not be suspicious?

Beatrice was crying bitterly, as if she was covering up something with her crying.

Christian left angrily.

At the door of the elevator, Anastasia and the other two did not leave.

When she saw Christian coming out, she asked, "Did you figure it out?"

Christian pursed his lips with a cold expression.

"She did it."

Anastasia's eyes sharpened.

Christian took a deep breath. "She might... not mean it."

Anastasia took a deep look at him, curled her lips, and said sarcastically, "What? Christian, you're still partial to her now. Your grandma was hurt. Look how generous you are!" When Christian found that the evidence was ruined, he doubted Anastasia and her people.

But after knowing that Beatrice did it, he made an excuse for her.

He loved Beatrice, not Anastasia.

Anastasia pressed the down button on the elevator.

This was an exclusive elevator for VIPS, so there was no need to wait.

The three went in. Anastasia didn't look at Christian.

Christian saw her contemptuous and disappointed eyes. His heart sank. He suddenly said in a serious voice, "I will check it out. If Beatrice has something to do with the murderer, I will not let her go." The elevator door closed slowly.

Anastasia didn't look up.

Could she believe his words?
