Chapter 38 What a Greasy Speech!
Chapter 38 What a Greasy Speech!
Anastasia glanced at Beatrice, who was standing next to Terence calmly, then turned away.
That glance was enough to scare Beatrice.
Anastasia left directly, which made Terence furious.
"She is so arrogant. Beatrice, don't worry. I have already discussed it with the TV station, and she won't dare to bully you."
Terence's father was a director, but he had won numerous awards and gained a reputation.
He was prestigious in the entertainment industry.
Beatrice smiled and nodded.
As soon as Anastasia went out, she called Patrick.
He answered it immediately, unable to speak fluently in anger.
"Ms. Graves, I was about to call you just now. I want to tell you..."
"I know all about it. Beatrice is going to be a judge."
Anastasia interrupted him and continued in a gentle and restrained voice,
"Don't stop her. Let her be if she wants to. Since she is not qualified, she will meet her doom."
Patrick was taken aback and fell silent for a moment.
"Okay, I will listen to you."
With Anastasia's evidence, he was able to overturn his scandals, so he owed Anastasia a huge favor.
At noon, Anastasia received a call from the hospital.
"Non-parent-child relationship..."
These few words had been lingering in her ears like a dream. She couldn't believe it or understand it.
Wasn't Charlie Christian's son?
It was impossible for him not to know.
Was he so deeply in love with Beatrice that he treated Charlie as his own even though he was not his biological child?
He gave all his love and tolerance to Beatrice, so he didn't care about his aborted baby.
He only said to make it up to her!
Anastasia's eye sockets were sore, and there was a slight pain somewhere in her heart. The shining sun scorched her.
She was suddenly very exhausted, as if all her strength had been taken away in an instant.
Anastasia was in a trance and didn't know where the exhaustion came from.
Maybe knowing the fact made her feel ridiculous and pitiful.
She didn't lose to an illegitimate child.
But she lost to Christian and Beatrice's great love.
It seemed that it took a long time for her heart to go from throbbing to numbness to stiffness. Anastasia finally recovered.
She didn't go to the company and returned directly to the Graves Manor. She lay in her room.
The surroundings became quiet, and her lonely heart also found a sense of security.
She had a light sleep.
Her phone rang suddenly.
Anastasia was familiar with the strange number, but she couldn't remember where she had seen it before.
She answered it, and the other party's voice was clear and bright.
"Didn't I bother you, Ms. Graves?"
Anastasia pressed her lips slightly. "Jaxon?"
"It's me. Ms. Graves, have you obtained the identification result?"
Jaxon spoke with confidence as if he knew everything well.
Anastasia had a trace of resistance in her heart. She felt he had sent someone to keep an eye on her every move.
She couldn't figure out his purpose.
So, she kept silent.
Jaxon explained with a smile with a hoarse voice,
"Ms. Graves, I went to Starlight Entertainment to talk to you at noon today, but they said that you didn't go to work in the afternoon, so I guess you may know the result. Are you in a bad mood?" Anastasia breathed a sigh of relief unconsciously, and her voice softened.
"I got the result, which surprised me. Mr. Stanford, why are you looking for me?"
Jaxon's voice was a little deeper.
"Ms. Graves, aren't you curious? Christian already knew that the child was not his, but why did he keep it from everyone?"
His voice was magnetic. He seemed to explain her doubts patiently.
"If you want to know the answer, you can let Christian's mother figure it out for you."
Anastasia frowned slightly. "Why did you tell me this?"
She always felt that Jaxon's appearance was so mysterious that he deliberately carried a certain purpose.
Jaxon sighed softly,
"Because I don't want you to be sad or live in hatred..."
Before he finished speaking, Anastasia hung up the phone.
What a greasy speech!
Jaxon chuckled and shook his head.
Then his smile gradually became gloomy.
He couldn't wait to watch a good show for Christian!
