Lyceon - The dark lord

Chapter Chapter-79: I promise you

"Angel!"

Lyceon cursed himself under his breath for deciding to take her along to see the so-called surprise in front of them.

"Hey baby, You alright?" He asked softly before cupping her face and calculating her condition. But Allison's face was terror-stricken like she just experienced a quick death. Her gaze kept at the bloody head of Nora and her heart broke into million pieces imagining her best friend's gruesome end.

"Fucking get it away!" Lyceon barked at the guards who flinched at the King's order and in a minute they swatted away with the box.

Allison cried out feeling the immense pain in her heart. The healer inside her was wailing for the loss of her pack member cum friend and it was all because of her. Yes, She assumed it was because of her that they caught Nora and killed her. Lyceon pulled her into his arms and rubbed her back to soothe her. She was anything but calm.

"Lyceon... They killed her. They killed my only friend. Why Nora?" she sobbed hard against his chest. He sighed deeply not knowing the answer. Mason and Rebbeca came there with widened eyes as they too got to know about the incident. Lyceon gestured them something with gaze and scooped Allison in his arms before taking her to his room. He didn't want anyone to disturb them. He put Allison on the bed before kneeling in front of her.

"Hey..." He whispered and caressed her red swollen face. His heart burned, seeing his mate's ashen face. She had stopped crying but tears were still leaking out of her eyes. She was lost, reminiscing her childhood memories with Nora. "Angel, please stop crying." Lyceon squeezed her hands, controlling his own rage because He knew what Keir was playing.

Allison raised her eyelids. Her watery eyes were bloodshot and filled with anguish and raw fury. Her gaze settled on Lyceon's face and something tugged at her heart.

"He killed all, dear to my heart. What if he kills Mason and.... You!" she asked so nonchalantly that Lyceon's heart skipped a beat. His muscles stiffened. He didn't like this Allison void of any expression. He knew something was brewing up in her mind. He shook his head before kissing her knuckles.

"I promise you, you won't lose your brother and me. Keir wouldn't dare..." He clenched his jaws, his beast was ready to create a bloodbath. But He squeezed his eyes tight to calm his nerves. It was not the time to react angrily. Allison nodded slowly. "He wouldn't dare." She whispered and matched his gaze with the same intensity.

"Promise me, you will give him a brutal death which he never imagined even in his worst nightmare." Lyceon blinked at her grave tone. His Angel was soft, innocent and kind but these recent incidents and the loss of her loved ones changed her. He swallowed in anger promising himself that He wouldn't let anything or anyone robbed the innocence out of her completely.

"I promise you, even death itself would tremble before touching him. History would be made of his colourful extinction soon. We will avenge our parents, Angel." Lyceon nodded with equal intensity. Allison swallowed the lump in her throat. Her heart wrenched, as Nora's face flashed in her mind again.

"I Am hungry. Can we have our breakfast now." She asked, getting up, making him stand as well. Lyceon could feel the shaking of her hands. She was trying to put on a strong spirit but actually she was trying to divert her mind from this horrific sight. Lyceon's heart soared knowing that his mate was becoming stronger day by day with her emotions. Even though she was fragile from heart but He felt proud of her. He kissed her forehead and nodded.

Once seated on a breakfast table, Bonnie served them and they started eating in peace. Nobody raised the question about the box but Mason got to know about Nora and he was stealing glances at Allison who was eating silently. "Grace, do you know any Minna Lauder from the southern side?" Lyceon asked the old lady who blinked up at him.

"Minna?"

"Yes! She is from the southern side, so are you. Did you ever hear about this name before or during the first war in the south by the vampires and lycans." Allison stared at Grace too with hopeful eyes. Grace frowned while racing her memory about this name.

"During my time, there was no Lauder family as far as I know. Only a few families in the packs volunteered to participate in the war in our area. So I certainly can't recall about this." She replied with an apologetic tone.

Lyceon nodded, resuming his meal. But a voice grabbed their attention again.

"Minna you say? I think I know about a Lady named Minna though Iam not sure about her surname." Lola mused and five pairs of eyes settled on her.

"Details!" Lyceon demanded. Lola cleared her throat before glancing at Allison momentarily. She started maintaining a good distance from her since she knew about her being her King'a mate and stopped bullying her. "King, I have a friend in the academy who introduced me to his cousin Joe Collins a few months ago who is an Alpha's son from the Crescent moon pack. I remembered he told me about his parents and family. His mother's name is Minna too. So she must be the Luna of the Crescent moon pack. But she is Collins. I am not sure but you can investigate it if you are in search of the woman named Minna."

Allison blinked slowly, the name hit her memory but she couldn't figure out where she heard this name before.

Lyceon raised his eyes at Lola's coloured complexion and mentioned, "and this Joe is your boyfriend, Lola. If I Am not wrong." Lyceon emitted the word 'new boyfriend'. He almost snorted at her antics but this girl became handy sometimes. Being a niece of Grace she has access to the dining table around them.

Lola's cheeks turned crimson and she nodded. Allison's eyes dilated with hope and she looked at Lyceon who smiled at her shortly.

"Aztec, invite the Collins family from the Crescent moon pack tomorrow for dinner. Make sure they pay a visit." Lyceon mind linked Aztec.

"Oh! It will be good if this Luna turn out to be the woman Lyceon is looking for. By the way, you never told me you have a boyfriend from the South side and that too is Alpha's son." Grace narrowed her eyes at her niece who lowered her gaze. "We are just seeing each other. That's it." Lola murmured but they all knew better.

"Next week we are going to hold the ceremony to announce Allison as my mate and their queen so make arrangements for the ceremony, Grace." Lyceon announced with authority and Allison looked up at him in shock.

Grace smiled. "As you say! Aiden and Caden are also returning before the ceremony. So it will be good. The whole north will witness the grand ceremony."

.

"Are you alright?" Mason asked Allison when they were strolling around the garden in the evening. He was accompanying her to lighten her mood when Lyceon left for an important meeting. "I am."

"Hopefully, everything will end soon." Mason sighed and patted her head.

"It has to." Allison smiled at him.

"How's it going between you and Rebecca?" She asked him to which he chuckled lightly.

"She is nuts. But I'm sure, she is as possessive about me as I am about her. Yesterday I talked to the female warrior about the training sessions and she jumped into the conversation before scurrying her away. And I can't express the glare she threw at me before leaving."

Allison giggled. "I Am happy for you guys." Mason frowned at her cheekiness.

"Because soon she will come to you." She nodded, clearing his confusion away. Mason sighed, looking ahead. Only he knows how hard his mate can be when it comes to their mate bond. She was still denying the sparks between them And Mason didn't want to force anything on her.

"And what about you? Do you like him?" Mason asked his sister about Lyceon. Allison bit her lower lip recalling Lyceon's confession. Though her heart swelled by that but she didn't feel the same for him. She likes him, yes! But love seemed like a big word to her.

"I don't know. I just know that He is my mate and we are destined to be together. I guess I will take my time to accept him wholeheartedly. Everything is going too fast to my liking." Allison sighed and they went for another round of wandering around the garden reminiscing their old memories and talking about their conflicting mates.
