Allison managed to catch the moment as her mother glanced in her right direction. She teleported to a place, behind the battlefield ground. Allison blinked her eyes and reached the small cottage house in the middle of a forest where her mother went.

She heard the loudest scream coming from a woman inside the room. Allison saw two girls jogging inside with some clothes and stuff. She followed them into the room and saw Maya crying in pain, thrashing around on the floor and holding her swollen belly. Minna was also there beside her, trying to control her and comforting her.

"Calm down, Maya. Shane is fine. Please don't cry and put pressure on your mind and body, it will harm your babies." Akira held her arms before pulling her up on the bed. But Maya snatched her arms out of their hold and screeched. "No, he is not. He is dying, he is suffering Akira. My mate is dying slowly, I can feel it. I can feel him. Please take me there.. to him, I can't breathe...." Maya cried badly, pleading with her.

Akira bit her lips as her eyes watered. She knew Shane was suffering but it was his order. He wanted his wife's safety first.

"Why are you here? You should be there fighting the enemies and supporting your King. You all left him? Bring him back to me. I want him! Please... Please let me go..." Maya howled, glaring at both of them.

Minna sighed and Akira got on her knees in front of Maya. She held her hands and looked at her face.

"Nothing is more important than your babies right now, Maya. Shane took a promise from me before the battle that I need to protect you in any situation. Please don't let our efforts go in vain. Thana might come after you to kill you and the babies. I can't let this happen. I might need you to get out of this place soon. We need to...

"No!" Maya screamed and got up, pulling her hands out of her hold.

"I won't leave without my mate. I won't leave my husband alone to die there." She growled loudly as her eyes flashed.

Allison saw how badly she was trying to shift but because of pregnancy she couldn't. She walked hastily towards the door but a shrill left her mouth and she clutched her swollen belly in pain.

"Maya!" Akira ran after her and held her.

"Has the water broken?" Minna asked worriedly, looking down. Akira shook her head. "I need to go back to see the situation but I can't leave Maya here." With the help of the two maids they put her on the bed.

"Her health is deteriorating. Shane and Bernard are fighting for their lives on the battlefield. The King had already died. Our packs and all clans are getting weaker. Because the traitors are more than we imagined. I don't know what to do." Akira squeezed her eyes and palmed her forehead.

"I can go there...."

"No! You won't!" Akira looked at Minna and shook her head.

"You would die in the silver rain Thana has created. There is darkness and distress everywhere. We are losing, Minna..."

Allison looked at the ashen face of her mother and teared up. She wanted to console them somehow but she knew she couldn't. She was just the invisible soul from the future there.

They heard another scream from Maya and Akira moved near her laying form.

"We need to do something. She is losing her breaths. Shane might be in trouble..." Minna wheezed in utter dismay.

Akira Breathed out and checked Maya's pulse before resting her hand on her belly. She closed her eyes, checking the conditions of the babies.

"Minna! We can't wait for the worst. I need to deliver the babies.... NOW!" Akira shouted and ordered maids for help.

"What...what do you.... Oh my goddess! Iam going crazy.. What if...." Minna cried out seeing Maya's sinking condition. She was losing her heartbeat. Tears welled up in Akira's eyes knowing the unknown. Minna knew the babies could die in her womb so she nodded at Akira.

They prepared Maya for the delivery and Akira chanted something before breaking the water in Maya's womb. She wailed loudly in the misery of her mate's pain and her own body pain. Akira asked her to push.

"Shane...." Maya cried and chutched Akira's hand before pushing and crying at the same time.

Akira pursed her lips, controlling her own tears and nodded, Squeezing Maya's hand, "I promise! They will be safe till I breathe!"

Allison witnessed how her mother and Minna managed to assist Maya in giving birth to the twins.

"Maya, honey. Push one last time. You are almost there. Come on! The head is out already...." Minna encouraged and consoled Maya to birth the second baby after she delivered a baby boy. Maya was staring at the ceilings, all exhausted, with a pale face like she lost every hope of her life.

"Now.." Akira yelled. And with the last push, Maya let out a sharp scream calling her mate's name and giving birth to her baby girl before throwing her head back on the pillow. The baby's cry put them in relief.

"Oh my goddess! They are fine. Maya, You should see..." Akira shut her mouth abruptly as a sudden pang of sadness hit her heart before it went utterly numb.

Minna also let out a painful cry, clutching her heart at the same time and Akira looked up at Maya's calm face. Her eyes were open with a small smile on her face. Her complexion had turned completely white. Allison covered her mouth shockingly looking at Luna Maya's dying face.

"Shane...Shane is dead!" Minna cried out as she felt the loss of her king and The painful growls of her pack members hit her ears and she fell on her knees. Akira blinked up at the babies, they were crying softly in the maids' hands. She swallowed the thick saliva that choked her throat and spread her arms to take the babies from them. She squeezed her eyes to clear the water out of them.

"I'm sorry, Shane!" she whispered before repressing her sobs.

Allison turned to see a man and woman came running into the room.

"Akira, is everything fine...." Bernard stopped midway, seeing the dead body of Maya with blood on the mattress. He looked at the twins and sucked a deep breath before falling on his knees.

"We lost it... we lost the battle." He growled in pain and anger for the loss of his Friend, his king, his people and his pack. The woman behind him slid down to comfort him.

Allison reckoned her as his mate, Rebecca's mother. Minna cried softly on the floor. "What will we do now! They won!"

"Bernard announced the 'back off' from the battle. We surrendered as many of our people died by the silver rain. We couldn't lose all of them." Bernard's mate informed them in a low voice. "They will come after us! The babies...." Minna cried out, looking at the babies with dread.

Allison turned her eyes to her mother who was caressing the babies in her arms and chanting something while touching their heads.

Smiling softly at them Akira gave them the names that their father chose for them. She looked at the baby boy who was staring at her with half-opened eyes.

"Aren't you the little warrior, Honey!" She cooed at him before touching his soft face.

"You will survive, you will win," She said strongly and then turned her eyes to her friends.

"The war doesn't end here. The last Lycan is still alive.." Her eyes flashed the aura of a powerful witch who was on a mission. She turned her gaze back to the baby boy. "Lyceon Villin Whitlock!"
