Chapter Chapter-59: You are destruction
Allison frowned and dared to look up into his dark eyes. There were numerous emotions behind those dark orbs and one of them was a hope. And Allison didn't like it.
"Have you never felt anything about me even a single time since you came here? Have you never felt the mate bond, Angel?"
Allison's mind numbed at his soft voice and she was forced to give it a thought. Did she?
Yes, she did. In the ball party, her heart beated wildly seeing him on the stairs and the fear she felt when He was walking towards her and Chandelier was about to blast but then a sudden rush to protect him ran through her body and she couldn't help but act on her instincts.
That was the Mate bond she felt for the first time. She now admitted that feeling. He was always around her, his Lycan always there to reach to her, to call her powers to recognise him but she always put walls all around her and pretended not to acknowledge that feeling or their bond.
"The second when I set my eyes on you in the Alpha ball, my entire being blasted seeing your innocent face and these captivating emerald eyes which ripped off my sanity after that. My Lycan ordered me to claim you right then and right here But I knew you wouldn't like that. You wouldn't accept that...."
Allison blinked at him in shock, seeing how bluntly He was confiding his thoughts, his feelings to her. Lyceon slightly brushed the area under her beautiful emerald eye and smiled. The soft smile invited his dimples to appear and had Allison under a daze.
"The need to protect you from all the hungry vultures and malicious eyes evoked inside me and I couldn't help but snatch you from your pack. I wanted to protect this angel which the Moon goddess had bestowed me with after years. The one and only for me!"
He whispered as his thumb caressed her cheek softly. The feather-like touch made Allison's stomach flutter with something crazy. She felt light and blank. He was robbing her sanity from her at the moment, making her crazy just like she made him already for her.
"Tell me Angel, do you want to leave me? Would you deny this sacred Mate bond? Do you hate me that much just because I killed your father or are there other reasons?"
Allison parted her lips, she opened her mouth to tell him that He didn't kill her father. He was not the one but her tongue seemed to work on her own and she answered differently, "I...I am scared of you!" She said in a low voice. Lyceon squinted his eyes slowly and created a little space in between them before looking into her eyes, with a curt face.
"You are not scared of me, Allison." He stated, forcing every word slowly.
Allison fisted her hands, averting her gaze but Lyceon already recognized that look. He gripped her chin with his thumb and forefinger and turned her face to him.
"Tell me, Allison! What is the real reason?" He asked, looking into her eyes and stressing every word again.
Allison knew He was damn serious as He took her name with that indifferent gaze. She was relieved that his Lycan was not in control now. But still the Dark Lord himself was not less than a terror or havoc. Lyceon pressed her chin not too hard, grabbing her undivided attention. And Allison decided not to play the hide and seek game anymore. Now when the truth unfolded, she had nothing to suppress. She sighed and looked up at his face.
"I...I want my Mate but not you!"
Lyceon stared at her with an unblinking gaze and was confused with her statement. Though his heart felt a pang but He dodged that feeling and tilted his head, caressing her chin.
"And why not Me?" His voice came out hoarse.
"You are destruction, Lyceon!"
She looked into his eyes with a deep gaze. "You are the Lycan king, the dark lord who has the capacity to ruin everything around you. Your life is very different from mine. You want power, submission, a throne to rule over the earth and all. You don't bat an eye before killing anyone for authority and power. And I... I don't want to be a part of your game." Allison sighed looking past him.
It was difficult for her to say as she knew how mate bonds work for the couple. The excruciating pain would be there but there were certain limitations on her part too which forced her to restrain herself.
Lyceon looked to his left and a deep chuckle left his mouth which turned out to be full-blown laughter. Allison looked at him surprised. He never laughed like this but it seemed a humourless laugh.
After pulling back from the amusement of the ludicrous reason given by her, Lyceon looked at her. "Was that the reason you tried to fly away...from me?"
Allison bit her lower lip but before she could nod her head, Lyceon put his hand on the right upper side of her bosom and murmured, "Did this thing allow you to leave? Has it never beat for the bond you share with me?"
Allison was lost for words because she knew. She knew He would catch her lie just like every time whenever she tried to dodge the true answer. She knew how her heart used to beat unevenly whenever He got close to her, with his intense presence around her and now she finally found the reason. It was because of the mate bond which she couldn't recognize earlier.
Slowly, she tried to remove his hand from her chest but Lyceon caught her hand and put it on his own heart.
"This.... only beat for you, insanely, irresistibly and without any skipping, Angel."
Allison parted her lips in shock, feeling how his heart picked up its pace slowly which was beating rhythmically before. She witnessed how his gaze swirled with black and white waves as He was confessing to her his honest feelings sincerely. It was intense. But she didn't get herself swayed by this. She couldn't get fooled by her emotions.
"I just wanted to see my friends and I knew you wouldn't allow me to go there without you by my side. I wanted to find a way to track down my brother, to search for him and to gather some things from my old pack." She muttered, trying to make a reason for her escape.
Lyceon squeezed her hand and got into her face, invading her privacy.
"Still.. Wrong answer, Angel!"
