Lycanthropy

Chapter Chapter Twenty-One

At the mountain:

“Gamma Amy? Where is your Alpha?” I asked her, after she couldn’t take her eyes of my Beta.

“Yes, yes, she is at the northern packhouse now, but she is leaving to our eastern border in an hour. So, if you want to meet her, I’d suggest you go there.” She said, while glancing her way towards my Beta a few times.

I smiled at them. “Are you two mates or not?” I asked them, but I didn’t have to, to know for sure.

The arousal that was brewing up in between them, and their elevated heartrates, made me know what was going on exactly. Besides, I’m a strong Alpha, so I notice these kinds of things almost instantly, when two mates are standing in front of each other.

“Well, yes… but I can’t. I just can’t.” The Gamma she-wolf said, and tears ran over her face when she turned around and ran away.

My Beta just stood there, as if lightning had struck him, nailed to the ground.

“She hasn’t rejected you, talk to her, find out what is going on with her.” I said, but he didn’t do a thing, he just kept watching where she had went to.

“Go! I can travel and find the Alpha myself!” I said and shoved his shoulders, towards where the Gamma had run off to.

He looked at me, one last time, but soon ran off to where she went.

I laughed at what was happening, but I was also sad for my Beta, because the Gamma either had some issues happening in her past, or her Alpha wouldn’t want her to leave the pack.

I know that Emerson has been without a mate for years, as she has told me her story, and it’s clear that I’m her mate after all. And during all those years, that I wasn’t with her, she has been tortured and abused. Could that be the reason that she doesn’t want her Gamma to find her mate? Or is it perhaps that she doesn’t want her Gamma to leave? The mountain looks really good on the inside, so she is clearly doing a great job, so I can imagine that she doesn’t want to let go of such a devoted person.

Well whatever the reason, Michael has to figure it out for himself.

I’m off to the east, together with two warriors to take with me, in case of a battle.

I came here, to her pack, to see what she had accomplished so far. To see if her large pack was a threat to our Kingdom. I wanted to make sure, that she cared for her pack members well.

“Sure, that’s the reason.” Winston chuckled.

“What do you mean, she is not here?!” I yelled to the Delta of the eastern packhouse.

I should have just called her, when I was at the mountain! Damn her attitude will kill me one day! I’ll just call her now then.

“Alpha Emerson, speaking. Who is this, and at this late hour?” She answered the call immediately, upon me dialling her.

“Oh, stop the politeness, you know perfectly well who is calling you!”

“Wait, let me look at my screen. Oh, now I see, ‘Asshole King’.” She whispered. “Hi there Daniel.” She said with a smug voice.

I roared from the inside, how does she dare to speak to me like that! “One in a hundred-million…” Winston said, at which I ignored him.

“Where are you?” I said calmly.

“Uh, let me see, I was in the north, and I looked towards my mountain, which is in the centre of my territory, if I remember correctly, and then I went to the right.” She said as if she was stupid.

“Then you went to the west! Not the east!” I grunted now.

“Oh, I’m so sorry, my King, I have a terrible sense of direction, I inherited that from my mother. You know now I come to think about it, she always got lost. Funny story actually, once we went on a…”

At the westside border:

“So rude, he just hung up on me! Just when I wanted to tell him a story about my mother.” I said with a false pout, towards Terrence.

“You’re awful. You know that, right?” He said to me with a smile, as I know that he heard every single word that was spoken on the phone.

So far, Daniel has underestimated my skills, and hasn’t show me anything yet, that could demonstrate him as a worthy mate to me, so why not act like the stupid woman he thinks I am? Let’s see how long it will take him to reject me. Because I still don’t need a mate.

Dakota was howling in my mind, but I didn’t care. I have a pack to run, and don’t have time for romance.

“You want to train the warriors?” Terrence asked me, at breakfast next morning.

It would take Daniel all day to reach this place, and sooner or later I would have to face him again. So, yes, why not train the warriors, while we wait for him to get here.

After a good run to warm up the muscles, and doing some basic exercises, we had split up the warriors in teams, and had them battle each other, to see what they were made off.

Of course, some of them were nervous, as their Alpha was watching, and others were only excited to show off their skillset. But all of them were fierce, and determined to win from their opponent.

After the first few rounds, both Terrence and I started to mingle with them as well. It was a good training for us too, to keep us sharp and fit. Here and there some of the warriors tried to beat me, but within a few moves, they had admitted their defeat.

“Do you want some real training?” Terrence asked me.

I have trained him myself, so let’s see if he still knows all the moves. Let’s see if he is still worthy to be my Beta.

We started off slow, punching, kicking, dodging and avoiding, but soon I understood that Terrence really wanted to take it up a notch. I lifted my finger, for him to wait for just a second, and I took my soaked, sweaty shirt off. So I only stood in my sports bra and some sports leggings.

Terrence did the same, and took his shirt off too, so he only stood in his shorts.

We began our sparring session, which soon became quite serious. I had punched him every now and then, and he had landed some blows to me as well. I shook them off pretty quickly and had knocked him off from his feet.

He had fallen on the ground and upon reaching out my hand for him, to help him stand up again, he took the opportunity to grab me tight from behind. His arms were around my neck and his legs were spread out behind me. He kicked me at the back of my right knee, to force me down on all fours, while he still kept a hold onto me, with his arms.

Now he was on his knees as well, right behind and on top of me. I bit his arm, so he released my neck immediately, but he wasn’t keen on letting me go, just yet. So he grabbed my hips and swiftly turned me over.

Within a quick motion, I kicked his groin with my knee, and took control, by turning him on his back now instead. I straddled his waist and pushed his arms above him.

I growled loudly and my canines were drawn. “Yield!” I commanded.

“Always, Alpha, always.” Terrence said, and I chuckled.

We stood up and laughed. He could still learn a thing or two, but overall he did a pretty good job.

“Get away from her!” I suddenly heard Daniel shout from behind me.
