Lycanthropy

Chapter Chapter Twenty-Nine

Next morning I was healed already, and even though I normally just stood up, right after my alarm went off, and got ready for my work-out, I now chose to linger a little longer.

Daniel slept in his own bed, in one of the other chambers, as I didn’t want to commit to sleeping together just yet. He was accepting my wishes, and didn’t push on to stay with me at all. As he said yesterday, ‘no strings attached’ he kept by that.

My thoughts went into a daydream, where I remembered every passing second of what happened in the bathroom yesterday.

Where he had touched me, how he fucked me like a rabid creature, panting and moaning, as his thick cock invaded my personal territory. My fingers traced downwards to my hip, where he had strongly held on to, to enforce himself to fill me full.

A slight tingling sensation drifted along my skin, longing for his hands to grab me again.

“Oh shit! Alpha!” Terrence suddenly said.

I jumped up, and saw that he had turned around facing the doorway.

“I know you have the room in the back of the cave, and that no one dares to come by and see you sleep, but we may have to install some doors here! Because I will be checking up on you, and I can’t see you like this anymore.” Terrence said, while still facing the tunnels.

I grunted and stood up from my bed. There were no sheets covering me, as the mountain is warm in the summer, so I wouldn’t have need for any. And indeed, I sleep naked. Maybe we should install some doors.

Quickly, I grabbed some underwear, sports bra and leggings, and put them on.

“You can turn around now.” I said to him, while putting on some socks and grabbing my sneakers.

“I just came to see, if you were alright, its five thirty now, and normally you have been at breakfast for half an hour already.” He explained himself, after turning around.

“Yes, I can choose to sleep out, can I? I’m the Alpha after all.”

“Sleep out huh? No, that’s not what it is. I think you were just checking to see if you got bruises from what happened yesterday.” He smirked.

“Yes, I might have done that, because whatever we had done in the past, never left me in any pleasurable pain.”

“Ouch. Shot through the heart!” He said, with a false pout and holding on to his chest. “I’m glad you found your mate, Alpha. So, don’t worry about me. Have you thought about what you two are going to do? I mean, he hasn’t marked you I see, are you going with him or…?”

I couldn’t answer his question, as I sincerely didn’t know what to do.

I opened my mouth to tell him my thoughts, but got interrupted by a mind-link.

“Alpha, Beta, we have a situation at the south of the mountain.” My lead warrior linked us.

We both stood up and quickly ran outside. While running down the slope, I strained my ears to listen to anything, what could be happening there.

“Down pup! You don’t have any authority over me!” I heard a sleazy voice yell.

I ran around one of the mountain’s ridges and saw several of my warriors, holding their hands up, as they were threatened by warriors in all the same red leather clothes, who held guns against my people’s heads. My warriors wouldn’t have been scared by guns, normally. But the only thing that could scare them, and probably was in those guns, were silver bullets.

My senses got overwhelmed, as I saw one of my warriors, laying down in the grass by the tree line. Blood gushing out of his forehead, there where he had been shot, by undoubtfully, one of the red warriors.

“Put those fucking guns down, right now!” I yelled to the thin man, who assumedly had that awful corruptly voice.

“Alpha, don’t! You can’t attack him!” One of my warriors said.

I heard him speak, but I didn’t turn away my gaze from that measly wolf, standing arrogantly in between his entourage.

I stalked my way, in between my warriors, and the guns, and stood right in front of the man that made one of my warriors leave his life, at a way too young age.

“You should listen to your warrior, Alpha Emerson.” He said. I was right, he was the one with the sleazy voice.

“And why should I do that? You killed one of my warriors, and you invaded my territory, so I have all the right…” I said while stalking closer to him.

“You have no right at all! I’m Drake, and I’m one of the King’s councillors.” The fleabag said.

I stood there, never letting go of my angry gaze as he both insulted and interrupted me.

“Even if you were the Goddess herself, I’d still want to rip your heart out! No one kills one of my warriors, in such a cowardly way, and lives to tell the tale!” I said and grabbed his neck, with stretched claws.

“Yes, show everyone the uncontrollable monster that you are.” He whispered in such a low tone, that only I could have heard him.

My ears and nose peaked and I could smell other wolves, standing in the tree line. They stepped forward now, as they wanted to see my reaction.

I roared fiercely, and some of them took a step backwards in fear.

“Em, let him go.” I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder and I snapped my face to see who it was.

“Shift back, please.” Daniel said.

Shift back? What does he mean? I only grabbed this councilman with my claws, nothing else. Right? But I wasn’t, I was in full Lycan now, as I had risen in height, and looked Daniel straight in his eyes, at the same level as he is. My body had unknowingly shifted into my other form, as anger had risen within me.

What the hell is happening?

I let go of the lousy man, that calls himself Drake. And he dropped on the grass, overtly gasping for air, exaggerating the situation, as if he was on the brink of death.

As I shifted my body, and saw the scraps of my sports-clothing laying on the ground, I realised indeed that I had fully shifted.

Daniel quickly had taken off his shirt, and pulled it over my head, and one of my warriors stripped out of his sweatpants and shifted to his wolf, so I could wear it.

“Drake, what are you doing here!” Daniel yelled to him.

“You can’t blame us, my King. We were worried, as you haven’t contacted us in a few days already. And by this welcome, I was right to be afraid.” He said to him, while pointing at me.

“You will realise you haven’t been afraid, as you are not fully aware what I am capable off!” I raged and stepped forward again, but Daniel stopped me.

The other councillors came towards us, and stood behind the red leather warriors, to listen to us too. By now, the warriors had lowered their guns, and I nodded for my warriors to get lost. I linked one of them, to do a perimeter check, and see if there were more of those red warriors.

Daniel put me behind him and continued talking.

“Why didn’t you talk to my Beta then? You should’ve asked him, what was going on!” Daniel yelled to him.

“We did, but he couldn’t tell us anything. All he said is that he had command, until you returned.” Drake said.

“Yes, as council, we couldn’t believe you to be giving away command so easily. We had to make sure that the Lycan, wasn’t endangering you, in any way.” One of the others said, with foul poison lingering in that word, Lycan.

“And clearly we were right. As we all have seen her shift, and she wasn’t even aware of it! She is obviously, the uncontrollable Lycan, that you have shown us in that book of yours!” Another one said.

What now? He has shown it to his council?

“And as you are well aware my King, protocol says that if the King is in assumedly grave danger, we as council have the right, after six days, to do whatever it takes, to save him from it.” Drake said.

Has he told them, that I’m dangerous? And why didn’t he contact them, telling them that he was safe? Was he unsure of our bond? Was he frightened that I could harm him? I shoved my shoulder away from his hand, why did I have ever let my guard down with him?

“Drake, my Beta told you I was safe! You shouldn’t have come here, and certainly shouldn’t have killed that warrior!” Daniel said, while pointing to the lifeless body of the young Brandon.

“She could have held you under a spell! And have forced you to say that to your Beta! We had to be sure!” Drake pleaded.

Shit, this man is getting on my nerves, but even more so, Daniel is too. Why isn’t he stepping up? He is only scolding the man, not fighting him! Drake doesn’t deserve this kind of soft treatment, from his King nonetheless!

Daniel was clenching his jaw, and growling through his teeth. I know I haven’t seen him, act like a King. Not for real. And I was actually wondering, what it was, that made him the King in the first place. All he ever did, was offering me a drink at the palace, and had a good fuck with me. Besides, he just shoved me aside, while I have all the right to kill this man!

Daniel was standing in front of me, ignoring me completely. And when I wanted to step to the side of him, he pushed me back gently. He was acting as if he were the Alpha of my pack, and was protecting me from Drake. But I don’t need protection!

All I was doing now, is to think about him, to find a reason for him to be worthy enough to be my mate. This lousy show of dominance, if you can call it that, as he was only discussing and not acting, was too little! Suddenly I felt stupid, for melting down my icy walls with him. And instantly, they were up again.

How could I ever trust Dakota, into giving in to him? I will never do that again! I am my own, and my own only! No man, will get to me, ever again!

“Yes, if that spell, which is called the mate-bond, is what you are talking about, yeah sure, he was under it. But hey, that is over now.” I said, while walking over to my dead warrior, and picking him up from the ground.

“Em? What are you saying?” Daniel asked me.

“If you can’t even keep your council away from killing my warriors, then what kind of King are you? Drake here, made sure of my decision. You are not worth it, to be my mate. I’m not going to your grand palace, not now, not ever! Leave my territory, and consider us as an independent piece of land. I don’t want anything to do with your Kingdom.” I said and walked away.

“This filthy Lycan is your mate? She isn’t a worthy Luna, just let the bitch walk!” Drake yelled.

I heard Daniel walk over to me, instead of killing that son of a bitch, for that remark. How could a King let this happen? How could my own mate, let someone else talk about me like that?

“Emerson! You can’t walk away!” Daniel roared at me. He is angry at me now?

The hell I can, and the hell I will. I turned around, with still the young dead warrior in my arms. And without hesitation, I said those words, which would free me from our bond.

“As the Goddess may witness me, I, Emerson La Rue, hereby formally reject…”

“NOOO!” Daniel yelled, trying to interrupt me from my sentence.

“… King Daniel Black, to be my mate.” I finished, turned around and kept walking towards my mountain.

A/n: Are you still here? Please, let me know what you think, after this devastating moment!
