Lycanthropy

Chapter Chapter Seventy-Nine

Looking at her, talking to Dimitri:

I was shocked to see that he was talking so much to her, as I never had seen him talk that much ever. Emerson always has the tendency to amaze people, just with her presence alone, and I guess Dimitri hadn’t been an exception to her appeal either.

“I’m not one of them!” She suddenly shouted.

Dimitri had his blades pointed towards her, and was readying himself to lunge for her. I stopped training the wolves and went over to see what was going on.

“I haven’t been drinking their blood, or committed suicide! So what are you talking about?” She said again, and now I was wondering the same thing.

What did Dimitri say to her, to make her this pissed off?

He took a step forward and took a swing with his blades towards her chest. Of course, this first action of his was just to test Emerson, and she dodged it easily.

“Dimitri what are you doing?!” I yelled towards him, while walking closer towards them.

“You are tricked Aron! She is one of them!”

“The hell she is!” I yelled angry.

The last time that I had a fight with him, was because he insulted Frida for not rescuing me when I was little. And now he chose to fight my mate for thinking that she is one of them? A Nightstalker?

I ran over towards her but still wasn’t close enough, to stop them.

They were now circling each other, while Emerson avoided all of his swings.

Avoiding those blue crystal blades:

“Dimitri, I can shift into my wolf or into a Lycan, I’m not a Nightstalker!” I said to him.

He didn’t believe me though, I could see it in his eyes. I bet that memories of the distant past came back again, where his grandfather’s pack got killed and such. Irritation started to show now too, as he wasn’t able to hit me with those blades. Marius has been training me a lot in my speed, and Dimitri couldn’t keep up with it.

“You are faster than any wolf I have seen! You must be one of them!” He yelled, trying to find an explanation for his reasoning.

“I have just been training, that’s all!” I replied but he just kept going.

I was getting tired of his actions and decided to end this quickly. I shifted into my Lycan form, growing taller and stronger, and took a swing at him. He acted confused for a moment, realising that I could indeed still shift into my Lycan, and by that I made sure that I truly wasn’t a Nightstalker.

“See? I’m not one of them. I’m just fast.” I said and he stopped his attack.

Aron was close now, and took off his shirt to cover me while I shifted back. I took it from him, and he gave me a kiss after I had put it on.

“Dimitri, you can trust me. I hate the way that Nightstalkers live, and I hate it that they have killed so many people. Besides, it’s broad daylight right now, and I'm not getting hurt by it! I am not one of them.” I said irritated. “But that being said, I don’t know why they can’t control me, or why Radu is so obsessed with me. He even said that my scent is the most luring one he has ever smelled.” I continued.

“Fine, we will figure it out later then, what you are exactly. But can I test something, to ease my mind for now?” He said while taking pointing one of his blades to me.

Aron pushed me a bit back and raised his hand in between us.

“Aron, I only want to see if her skin burns on contact, to confirm her statement.” Dimitri said and I looked towards Aron, while pushing down his hand.

I took a step forward and now raised my own hand. Dimitri lowered his blade and put it flat on my palm. Nothing happened, not even a slight sizzle.

“You convinced now?” I asked him and he huffed.

“But how are you so fast?” He now asked me.

“Radu’s brother has been training me, but my speed isn’t the only thing that I’m good at now.” I said and both Aron and Dimitri looked at me with confusion.

I smiled, but closed my eyes and tried focusing on Dakota’s eyes. Then when I felt my eyes shift and tingle, I opened them again and they both gasped.

“Dimitri, I know you can be faster than what you’ve done just now. Otherwise you hadn’t been able to give my mate that scar on his left eyebrow. Show me what you got, and I’ll show you what I can do.”

Dimitri now smiled at Aron, for knowing that he gave him that scar, but quickly changed his gaze towards me and did as he was told. He took a good hold on the blades and lunged at me with incredible speed, he swung at me with much agility and strength. But, I could see his movements in a slow motion version of it.

With Dakota’s eyes, I was able to easily avoid every attack, and even looked at the point of his blades as it pierced through the air next to my face. Dimitri chuckled and got more motivated to even go faster than he already did. But it didn’t matter how fast he was, I was faster.

It took a few minutes before he suddenly stopped and put his blades behind his back again.

“Aron, you are strong, but damn that woman of yours is fucking fast.” He said smiling, and turned around to walk upwards the mountain again. There where he has been staying ever since he got here.

I shifted back to my own eyes and took a seat on a big rock. Aron came sitting next to me and put his arm around my shoulder. For a few moments we were quietly looking at how our warriors were training vigorously.

“Dakota’s eyes, huh?” He then asked me.

“Yep, she came up with the idea. Maybe you can do that too with Úlfur, since you can shift partially as well.” I said to him.

“I could try that out later. I want to do something else first.” He said and stood up.

“And that is?” I asked him.

“I have seen you fight, and you have seen me train my warriors at my own pack, but we never fought against each other.”

“But we did, when I first met you.”

“No, you had been fighting all those other wolves and you had been traveling, so you were tired and I didn’t get to see your full potential.” He said while stretching out his arm for me to grab his hand.

I took it, and stood up next to him.

“So, you really want to fight me with all I got? Are you sure?” I asked him smiling.

“Yes. Let’s see if those strong muscles that I have felt when you wrap yourself around me, are really that strong in battle as well.” He said huskily.

Not sure if it’s only going to be fighting each other, or if we end up doing something entirely different…

A/n: I know, this is just a calm and easy chapter, next one will be little more revealing. 😉
