Chapter 15
Suitable Candidate
Dane POV
Ever since I saw Violet’s son at Disneyland, my wolf was restless. Emily was doing everything to persuade me to take her to a jewelry mall where she wanted to buy a diamond n*ecklace for herself, but I had other intentions.
The first thing I did when I came back was to move her into another room. It was impossible for me to sleep with her in the same room. We were sleeping in the same room, but while she had occupied the bed, I was always on the couch. I wanted my Violet to be with me. Spending every night with Emily became unbearable.
So when I came back, I was so furious that I booked another room for her and asked the hotel staff to move her there. She cried and protested. going there, but I only grew irritated by her.
“Are you planning on getting Violet here?” she demanded.
“That’s none of your business!” I slammed the door close on her face and pulled out my phone to call Beta Jackson.
“Alpha Dane?” his calm voice sounded. “I hope everything’s okay.”
“I’ve met Violet Clark,” I answered, awash with heady emotion.
He gasped. “In Miami?”
“Yes, and she is even more beautiful than she was.” I pinched the bridge of my nose. “No, she’s easily the most beautiful woman in this. place.

“And she’s your mate. He calmly explained, interpreting my emotions in his usual calm way, that I was biased. “But you are engaged to Emily: Did Emily see her?”
“Yes, she has. So what?”
My Beta laughed indulgently. “So, what are your plans? Have you been able to win your mate as yet?” I liked that about Jackson. Even though my mother was against Violet, he always supported me and in fact he thought I should find my mate and make her my Luna. That would be best for my pack. However, at that time, I didn’t like the idea. Little did I know I was going to grow insane without her. I had taken up to drinking so hard that sometimes I wanted to forget my mate. In those drunken stupors, Jackson would bring me home, saying that I muttered Violet’s name more than ever. In short, there was no way I could forget her.
I sucked in a sharp breath. “She has a boyfriend,” I growled, grinding my teeth. The thought of Violet with another man set a furnace. blasting through me. My wolf snarled, threatening me to go back to her house and stalk her and then carry her to some place where except me could find her. “And she has a son from him.”

There was a long pause. “How old is her son?” he asked, startled.
“He’s four–years and one month.”
“Four years? You mean she had a boyfriend the moment she ran away and after you rejected her?”
“What are you getting at, Jackson?” I asked, irritation soaring through me like wildfire.
“Alpha Dane, I highly doubt that after you rejected her, she was in a state of having a boyfriend. I mean, see what happened to you after you rejected her. And now imagine what all she must have gone through

after the rejection. Do you think in that condition, she would have had a boyfriend?”
“If you are implying, Dave is my son, then you are mistaken. I can’t smell myself on him: I recalled his features. He had green eyes and hair, just like me. His face was like… mine. Square and beautiful. He had Violet’s pout. Was Dave mine?
“Well, I believe that the timeline matches. Don’t you think so?” He sighed. “However, if she has a boyfriend right now, I can’t say about that…”
Boyfriend. I paled. She had gone on a date with Jayden. Was he Violet’s steady boyfriend? Why didn’t I see a connection between them? It was like Violet wasn’t interested in him. That was the reason I . wasn’t so interested in Jayden, but now- My wolf rumbled with rage.
He wanted to murder Jayden and shred his b*dy into pieces. I rubbed my chest with my hand as unease festered there. Was this the reason she was pushing me away, because she wanted to give Jayden a chance?
I disconnected the call and paced my room, wondering why I couldn’t smell my son. What was Violet doing to suppress his smell? I stabbed my fingers in my hair as I remembered that there were potions that helped to suppress the smell of the werewolves. We gave them to our spies always. Why the fuck that didn’t hit me? I had to find it out. Once again, I called Jackson. “I want two gamma warriors here

If Dave was my pup, then there was no way I was going to leave my mate and my pup alone in this world. For that, I needed to do something drastic. Something that would always make her stay with

Jayden. Jayden wasn’t hard to yield. Even though I had disrespected him in the restaurant, he agreed to my proposition immediately. Yeah! He was a gold digger..
Sitting in the meeting room, right now, I could see nervousness written all over Violet’s face. She was looking like a little lamb, scared of her future.
I didn’t want Emily to come with me, but she insisted she had to accompany me because of Ilene’s insistence that she should be with
- me.
“We will retain all your employees,” Emily chuckled. “Except one.”
Violet clenched her teeth.
“We are going to throw your agent, Violet Clark. She is of no use to this company!” Emily announced. “And I will take over as the Director.‘
“That is fine!” Jayden exclaimed. “As such, Violet will move to my place. We are soon getting engaged!”
A dangerous growl escaped my l*ps. Emily winced.
A tear ran down Violet’s eye as surprise widened her eyes. My wolf wanted to break free and go to his mate and protect her. And now I was sure that she didn’t want Jayden. Violet was mine to claim and mark. She didn’t realize it, but soon she would. I would win her back.
I turned my gaze to Emily and said, “Who are you to decide, Emily?”
Her mouth dropped. “D–Dane?” She looked embarrassed as her checks flushed red.
I turned my eyes to everyone in the meeting. Once I acquire the

“No!” Jayden said in a raspy voice. “Violet will be resigning!”
I peeled my l*ps at him and snarled. He jumped, staring at me in horror. “Mr. Llyod. I”
“Do you want me to call off the deal?”
“No, but-” He snapped his head to look at Violet. She seemed. extremely surprised, blushing hard and wiping that tear away.
“Jayden. I’ve conducted a comprehensive evaluation of your company and am determined that Violet is the only suitable candidate for the role.” Rising from my chair. I buttoned up my coat. “I believe this meeting is over.” I headed out, with Emily following me sheepishly.
There was another important matter that required my immediate
