The Rogue Luna
Chapter 11: Interrogation
Chapter eleven: Interrogation
Bernard
“Would this have anything to do with the girl Kelvin brought in a few days ago?” My mother asked, my head snapped around her direction and she had that strange look on her face. She only wore that expression when she was trying to get information out of someone.
“What have you heard?” I asked her and she shrugged.
“Nothing much, all I know is that the girl is a rogue and she wandered into our territory and can’t even remember where she is from.” She replied…
“Well that means you basically know everything. Why are you here, mother? You obviously have something to say so just let it out already.” I said to her, she sighed and got up from the sofa and walked towards me. She came and stood in front of me, she was a good foot shorter than me so she had to crane her neck upwards to meet my gray eyes with her similarly coloured ones. I took after my mother in so many things.
“You have led our people brilliantly over the last few years, Bernard. You have been an exemplary Alpha who used his instincts and login very well, but?” She paused and sighed.
“Why is this girl taking up a bed in our hospital when she should be in a cell? Surely you know that rogues are a danger to any Pack.” She added.
“She is not a threat, mother.” I said to her which made her cross her arms.
“And how would you know that?” She asked.
Because she is my mate, I wanted to say it to her but I didn’t. The less people knew about Elena, the better for me. I still wasn’t able to wrap my head around the fact that she is my mate. And if my Pack found out that I am choosing another mate over my arranged bride, there would be an uprising. Mates were a sacred thing in our world, it was one of the greatest blessings the moon goddess could grant you aside from a pup of course.
“I just know, mother. She is not a threat and she is in the hospital because her wolf isn’t healing her fast enough. Had she been well enough, I would have put her in a cell.” I responded to her.
No, I wouldn’t, I was actually lying to my mother but I found out that it was easier to lie than it was to tell the truth. My mother wasn’t convinced but she didn’t press me further.
“My son, promise one thing, please.” She placed her hands on the sides of my face like she had always done when I was still a child and waited for her to speak.
‘Never forget the Pack in all the decisions you make regardless of what you are faced with, the Pack will always come first. You have responsibilities to our Pack members. You remember your father’s mantra, don’t you?” She asked me and I nodded.
“Pack over self.” I replied and she smiled. She brought my head down so that she could kiss my forehead and released me from her hold after doing that.
“Don’t ever forget it.” She gave me a gentle smile.
“I will see you at dinner.” She turned on her heels and made her way out of my office without another word.
I knew that my mother meant well for me but I couldn’t deal with her, she was only adding to my worries. The feeling of unease filled my chest and I began to feel restless again. I needed to be calm but this time I wasn’t in the mood for a run. I was in need of the company of a specific red haired girl.

Chapter 11: Interrogation
Elena Pov.
My eyes fluttered open slowly, the medicine that doctor Liam gave me was slowly wearing off and I was coming back to my senses. It took a moment for my vision to focus and I saw someone standing by the bedside but the sleep in my eyes made them look hazy. At first, I thought it was Laim but when my vision cleared, I realized that it wasn’t him at all. I sat up quickly in the bed and stared at Nicholas. I turned to the heart rate monitor and saw that the machine was all off. He disabled them so that Liam wouldn’t hear my panicking heart.
“Sleep well, beauty queen?” He sneered at me.
“What are you doing here? Liam told me that this wing in the hospital was for authorized personnel only.” I said to him.
He laughed evilly at my expense, his eyes were looking at me like I was his prey and he was ready to devour me. My heart was beating rapidly in my chest and adrenaline was surging throughout my body. I was about to go into a fight mood.
“I am the Beta of this Pack and I am authorized personal everywhere.” He smiled devilishly.
“If I remember correctly, you need to answer some of my questions.” He muttered.
“Alpha Bernard won’t like this, Nicholas. You aren’t supposed to come anywhere near me.” I kept my voice even despite the crippling fear that was surging through my blood. He threw his head back and let out another devilish laugh.
“Bernard is the one who sent me stupid girl. All he wanted from you is an answer. Now, tell me what I want to know.” He said and I shook my head.
“I already told you everything I can remember, Nicholas. Why can’t you just leave me alone?” I asked him.
“It is because you are interfering in my plans.” He responded, his voice was laced with venom that I could almost taste it.
“What do you mean? What plans?” I asked him, he shook his head as if trying to rid himself of some thoughts.
“Plans for this Pack. Alpha Bernard had plans for this Pack and your presence here puts those plans into jeopardy. The sooner I can figure out where you came from, the sooner I can have you sent back.” He said to me, I knew he was hiding something but I just couldn’t place my fingers on them.
“I told you everything I know already. Why can’t you just believe me and be done with it? Liam already believes me.” I said to him and he scoffed.
“Liam is a useless excuse for a wolf who doesn’t have a strong bone in his body. He would trust a viper if it smiled at him and that is precisely what you are, Elena. You are viper and it is my duty to not only protect this Pack from you but also my Alpha. So I will ask you again, who are you and which Pack do you come from?” I gulped, straightening my back to steel myself. I needed to keep my resolve and L couldn’t afford to let him know that I was lying. Otherwise, the last ten years of running would have been pointless.
“My name is Elena and I am a lone wolf. That is all I remember and know.” I replied to him. He stood at the edge of my bed, his right hand was holding onto the bed frame and his black eyes were glazing over me. The flashes of what he didn’t yesterday crossed my mind, he is on the verge of losing control.
“Nicholas?” I called warily.
“You need to calm down, your wolf is trying to take control but you need to hold him back. Bernard will hold you responsible for whatever your wolf does.” The words that I hope would pull him back only caused him to become angrier. His right hand gripped the hardwood of the bed frame until it began to creak in complaint under his hold.
“You have lied to me so many times, Elena. It is time I will take you to the cell so we can truly get acquainted.” He muttered.
Chapter 11: Interrogation
In just a second, he was up in my face and his eyes were like a raging ball. They held so much anger, hatred and disdain which made no sense. I didn’t understand how he could have so many strong emotions towards me even though he barely knew me,
“I am going to have a lot of fun with you.” He glared at me.
“I am not going anywhere with you.” I said to him, I wouldn’t let this man beat me. He may have outranked me but that meant nothing to me. I had braved stronger men than him before.
“Really, you think you actually have a choice in this matter?” He asked as he reached for my hand and ripped off the drip causing me to hiss. Blood started gushing out from my arms as I attempted to cover the hole with my fingers.
“Are you out of your mind? You can’t just rip out my drip just like that. What if it caught on a muscle or worse?” I asked, the blood was still gushing out from my arm.
“Does it look like I give a shit about your feelings, Elena? You are nothing but a rogue and therefore, I will treat you like one.” He said
with a smirk on his face.
