Luna Aurora novel (Alpha Fenrir)

Chapter Divorce After 10 Year 7

Unable to find Arianna, Fenrir stormed back to his office, his mind clouded with anger and frustration. He sank into his chair, fuming, as memories of Aurora began to surface, unbidden and relentless.

Aurora had always been there by his side, a calm and steady presence who ruled as Luna with a gentle strength.

She wasn't just obedient as his wife; she was dedicated and compassionate, always putting the needs of the pack before her own.

She had managed her responsibilities with dignity, never once demanding recognition or praise.

Yet he had let her go, cast her aside as if her quiet resilience had been a weakness rather than a strength.

Now, with Arianna's selfishness and her disregard for others becoming glaringly obvious, he couldn't help but feel the sting of regret.

Just then, his Beta, Nathan, entered the office. He looked at Fenrir knowingly, as if reading his thoughts, and after a moment, he broke the silence. "I know what's on your mind, Alpha. You're thinking about Luna Aurora, aren't you?" Fenrir's jaw tightened. "It's not like that, Nathan. I made my choice," he said, his voice laced with forced conviction.

Nathan shook his head, clearly unconvinced. "Aurora was everything a Luna should be, Fenrir. She respected everyone, treated the pack with kindness and loyalty, and you... you left her for someone who doesn't even respect you as the Alpha." Fenrir's gaze darkened, his fists clenching. "You don't know the full story, Nathan."

Nathan raised an eyebrow, undeterred. "I don't need to know every detail to see the difference. Aurora was a good mate, a caring Luna. Arianna... well, she's trouble, Fenrir. The pack sees it, the maids, even the council members see it. I'm just surprised you don't." Fenrir clenched his jaw, his frustration mounting. He didn't need his Beta questioning his decisions, but there was a part of him-buried beneath his pride and his defenses-that couldn't deny Nathan's words.

Aurora had been an embodiment of grace and strength, qualities he had taken for granted until now.

Nathan continued, sensing Fenrir's internal conflict. "So, what was it, Alpha? Why did you let go of someone so perfect for the role? What happened?"

Fenrir's expression hardened as memories he'd tried to bury resurfaced. "Aurora did something, Nathan," he replied, his tone heavy with bitterness. "Something I couldn't overlook." Nathan's brow furrowed, taken aback. He hadn't expected to hear that Aurora, who had always seemed so steadfast and trustworthy, could have committed any serious wrongdoing.

"What could Aurora have possibly done that made you reject her as your mate?" he asked, genuinely curious and clearly skeptical.

Fenrir hesitated, his gaze fixed on the surface of his desk, unwilling to look his Beta in the eye. "I... I can't go into specifics," he finally muttered, the anger from his confrontation with Arianna and the turmoil of his memories leaving him feeling raw and exposed. "But know this, Nathan: as much as I see her good qualities now, Aurora's actions left a mark. They forced my hand."

Nathan took a step closer, lowering his voice as if he was trying to understand his Alpha's perspective.

"And yet, Alpha, you still seem torn. You're hurt by Aurora's absence, and Arianna isn't filling that void. Even if you believe Aurora did something wrong, was it really so terrible that it warranted a complete rejection?"

Fenrir's jaw tightened further, his mind racing with conflicting emotions.

His heart had always been pulled in two directions: one tethered to the love he had shared with Arianna before the bond with Aurora, and the other bound by the undeniable strength of his connection to his fated mate, Aurora.
