Lucky Me I’m Divorced by Modesty Brook Chapter 4

Chapter 4 We Are Divorced!

Aurora had been comforting and chatting with Jaxon, Caleb, Joey, and Patrick until late into the night.

The Hansen family had done a lot to welcome her back.

The furnishings of her room had hardly changed, immaculately cleaned by the servants.

“Hello?” Just as Aurora was about to go to bed, she received a call.

The caller, Scott Holland, her friend, upon hearing her voice, got so excited, shouting, “Aurora, it’s really you! The reports were true! How about we catch up? We haven’t seen each other for three years.”

Aurora glanced at the clock, about to decline.

But Scott quickly added, “Don’t you dare say no! I’ve already booked the place, and everyone’s waiting, just for you, our darling. We’ve all missed you so much! You wouldn’t be that heartless, would you?”

Scott’s words were precisely what Aurora found hard to resist.

She smiled and agreed, “Alright, where are you? Send me the address. I’ll head out now.”

“Okay, that’s the spirit! I’ve missed you for three years, perked right up when I heard you were back.” Scott laughed and went off to make arrangements.

Aurora stood in front of her wardrobe, looking at the business suits that filled it, feeling a bit overwhelmed…

She had forgotten she was a woman in these three years of running the Duncan Group.

Luckily, she hadn’t gained weight but lost some, so her old dresses and gowns still fit.

She chose a striking red backless dress and had the driver take her to the club.

The club was bustling and was packed with wealthy heirs partying all night.

As Aurora walked in, she caught the attention of someone with malicious intent.

Someone said, “Stacy, is your brother’s ex-wife over there?”

Stacy, who was smoking with friends in the lobby, followed the direction her friend pointed and immediately spotted Aurora.

Aurora, in a red cinched waist backless dress, was standing close to a handsome man, chatting and laughing.

Stacy, who always disliked Aurora, became even more irked seeing the attractive man by Aurora’s side.

“Who does she think she is?” Stacy sneered with an unpleasant look. She walked over and pulled Aurora’s arm rudely. Then she looked Aurora up and down with disdain. “Wow, I thought I was wrong. It really is you! Did you move on to a new love right after your divorce so soon?

“He looks quite young. I thought after you left with nothing, you would find some rich old man to avoid being homeless!”

Scott asked, “Who’s this?”

The bustling chatter around them came to an abrupt halt as Aurora’s expression turned gloomy in an instant.

Scott, the host of today’s gathering, immediately shot an unfriendly and impatient glare at Stacy, who had rudely interrupted.

As Aurora was about to explain, Stacy added, “Don’t bother lying, Aurora. You’ve always been flirtatious, nothing but a wretch! Pretending to be pure in front of Roland…”

Before Stacy could finish her words, Aurora slapped her across the face. Aurora squinted and sneered, “Go tell Roland, since we’re divorced, it’s over. Leave me alone. As for insults and slander, is this the Duncan family’s courtesy?”

Stacy said, “You…”

Stacy, covering her face in pain, couldn’t believe it. Aurora, who had never fought back, no matter how humiliated Aurora had been before, dared to confront Stacy like this today!

Aurora, seeing through Stacy’s thoughts, not caring about her at all, scoffed indifferently, “Before is not now. Stacy, show me some respect, or don’t blame me for being ruthless!”

“Respect you?” Stacy snorted, pointing and glaring at Aurora. “Who do you think you are?”

Narrowing her eyes, Aurora grabbed Stacy’s wrist tightly and twisted it hard. “It won’t be good for you if you keep this up. I’ll make you regret coming here. Believe it or not.”

Aurora tightened her grip on Stacy’s wrist. Stacy quickly withdrew her hand, backed away, and warned, “Well, you’ll see! Aurora, I’m telling Roland right now!”

Then, Stacy ran out of the club in a fluster.

Aurora watched her leave with a cold gaze, her expression remaining untroubled. “It’s okay. Just a minor incident. Let’s continue.”

Scott admired Aurora’s handling of the situation and gave a thumbs up.

After Stacy ran out, she dialed Roland’s number before getting into her car, sobbing and complaining, “Roland, you must stand up for me this time!”

“What happened?”

Roland, who was about to fall asleep, was jolted awake by Stacy’s call, his tone cold.

Without beating around the bush, Stacy went straight to the point. “Aurora hit me! She’s at the Rainbow Club, cuddling with a guy. Are you going to do something or not?”

“What?”

Roland was suddenly wide awake, even forgetting the fact that Aurora was already his ex-wife.

He hung up on Stacy and called Aurora directly, accusingly asking, “Where are you now? Who are you with?”

Aurora glanced at the caller ID. So as not to be embarrassed, she walked outside to answer.

She said, “Are you out of your mind? We’re divorced!

“How is that any of your business where I am and what I’m doing?”

Roland, fuming, fell silent for a moment, then couldn’t help but accuse. “Even so, you can’t mess around with other men so soon! Who knows if you two were already together even before?”

“Now you’re making unfounded countercharges, right?” Aurora laughed in disbelief. “Roland, I never realized you were such a scumbag. But from now on, leave me alone.”

Then, Aurora hung up.

Furious, Roland threw his phone against the wall and got ready to go to the Rainbow Club.

Jessica just came out of the bathroom. She noticed that Roland was putting on his pants, seemingly ready to head out.

She deliberately let her towel slip, revealing her shoulder. Then she approached him seductively, saying in a soft and enticing voice, “Roland, where are you going so late? Can’t it wait until tomorrow?”

As she spoke, she rubbed her chest against Roland’s arm.

“Darling, I have to meet a client!” Roland, preoccupied with thoughts of Aurora, was in no mood to coax Jessica. Even his comforting tone was impatient.

Jessica said, “Come on!”

Jessica had actually overheard Roland’s conversation just now.

She knew it was Aurora on the other end of the line and that Roland hadn’t completely given up on her.

So, she decided she couldn’t let Roland leave!

Hiding her malicious gaze, she seductively teased Roland, lifting her legs slightly.

Since she was less than two months pregnant, her belly was still flat and smooth without a baby bump. She pressed against Roland’s crotch, arousing him.

Unable to resist the temptation, Roland loosened his grip on his pants, and they slid to the floor.
