Chapter 702 No Right to Negotiate Terms With Him
As soon as Sonny's name was mentioned, there was a drastic change in Slevin's expression. Elspeth felt that something was off
and pressed on, "We were both in the laboratory initially, so why was I the only one who got rescued in the end? What happened
to my mentor? What did you do to him?"
Slevin shrugged at that question and attempted to appear nonchalant. "I don't know anything. I have no idea where he went."
"Stop with the pretense. We were in close proximity. If you had taken me away, then you would have seen where he was."
Elspeth stared into his eyes for a moment and said firmly, "You're lying!"
Slevin's expression froze slightly. "I'm not lying. I genuinely have no knowledge of his whereabouts."
"Slevin, why are you still unwilling to tell me the truth at this point?"
"I don't know what so-called truth you're referring to."
"Slevin!"
Observing her displeased expression, Slevin chuckled, "It seems like you're still in the mood to worry about others. Don't you
care about your son anymore?"
Hearing that reminded Elspeth of the pain of losing Damian. "Slevin, I don't know what your intentions are, but if you truly believe
that I possess something valuable, please tell me the terms for exchange." Elspeth's voice turned cold. "At least tell me why you
kidnapped Damian!"
There weren't any surveillance cameras on the rooftop of the hospital. Slevin curled his lips and straightforwardly revealed the
truth.
"Did Callum visit your place yesterday evening?"
"So what?"
Slevin's smile gradually faded. "What happened between the two of you after that?"
"What happened between us is none of your concern." Elspeth furrowed her brow. "Can you please get to the point?"
Slevin adjusted his tie and his eyes were filled with an unprecedented coldness. "Isn't this the point? You were fully aware of my
affection for you, yet you chose to become involved with him. So, isn't it reasonable for me to take action against him?"
"Slevin, you're insane!"
His excitement intensified upon hearing her words. "Insane? You're saying that I'm insane? I merely harbor feelings for you.
What's wrong with that?" After saying that, he swiftly approached her and attempted to embrace her.
Elspeth foresaw his intentions and took a step back before raising her hand to deliver a slap across his face. The crisp sound
echoed throughout the hospital rooftop.
Slevin appeared bewildered by the slap. He lifted his head and gazed at her with an incredulous expression. "What do you mean
by this?"
Elspeth had exerted all her strength in that slap. She shook her hand and spoke coldly. "Slevin, can't you wake up?"
"Wake up?" Slevin rotated his wrist and violently grabbed her throat all of a sudden. "What makes you think that I'm not awake
right now?" Due to the significant disparity in strength between a man and a woman coupled with Slevin's dexterity, Elspeth
struggled to catch her breath. She could only stare at him wide-eyed. "I've expressed my profound liking for you. I even proposed
to you publicly, but you rejected me and disregarded my dignity. And now, you're with him. Elspeth, I have given you an
opportunity, yet you refused to seize it."
Elspeth managed to force a smile. "Slevin, even without him, I could never fall for you, let alone be with you or marry you."
Upon hearing those words, Slevin's eyes turned bloodshot, and his grip gradually tightened. "What did you say? Don't you care
about your son anymore?"
Damian was her weak spot. A tinge of sorrow welled up in Elspeth's eyes when Damian was mentioned. "Slevin, what do you
want in order to release him?"
Noticing Elspeth's softened tone and her attempt to concede, Slevin felt somewhat satisfied and gradually loosened his grip
around her neck. Elspeth started breathing rapidly and inhaled the fresh air in large gulps. "Elspeth, I'm pleased that you
understand what it means to be pragmatic." Since Elspeth had been choked for an extended period, her breathing became rapid
which made her cough desperately. After a while, the flush on her face gradually subsided.
"So, what are you trying to get out of this?"
"My purpose is very simple, just two things," Slevin replied.
"First, starting today, you are not allowed to have any contact with Callum, and you're not allowed to return to the country with
him."
"Second, you must marry me immediately. From now on, you will live by my side and go nowhere else."
These two absurd demands left Elspeth speechless. "Slevin, I am a person, not your slave, let alone your possession. What
makes you think that you have the right to demand that I stay by your side?"
"My demands have been stated. Whether you agree or not is up to you. You have no right to negotiate with me." Slevin licked his
lips as his smile turned sinister.
Elspeth fell silent. As she looked at the confident man in front of her, she knew he wouldn't give up until he achieved his goal
today. If she bluntly refused him, she didn't know what he would do. Moreover, Damian was still in his hands so she couldn't act
recklessly. "Are you saying that if I agree to these conditions, you'll release Damian?" she asked.
"Of course, if I say I will release him, then I will." Slevin raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Very well, I agree to your conditions, but I also have some conditions of my own."
Slevin frowned slightly, seemingly dissatisfied with her words. "I've already said it, you have no right to negotiate with me."
"Slevin, I can assure you that my conditions won't put you at a disadvantage. They are simply my unfulfilled wishes."
"What are they?"
"First, you must release Damian immediately."
Without hesitation, Slevin nodded. After all, the initial purpose of kidnapping Damian was for this very reason, and now that she
had agreed, there was no need to use him as leverage anymore.
"Second, I'll take care of Callum until he's discharged from the hospital. After that, I will have no further interaction with him."
Slevin didn't readily agree to this condition. "Why do you need to take care of him until he gets discharged? I've already said that
I don't like the two of you being together."
"He was the one who saved Damian when the accident happened. He's Damian's savior, so this favor must be repaid to him."
"Elspeth, don't play any tricks with me. Callum is Damian's father, so it's only natural for him to save Damian. There's no need to
talk about repaying favors." Slevin smirked.
