Love’s Little Miracles By Chloe Wallis

Chapter 12

Chapter 12

With tears in his eyes, he picked up the spoon and ate the remaining dish.

“Leol”

Caroline’s heart twitched in pain as she saw that scene. It turned out her son felt touched from finally getting to eat his mother’s cooking for the first time.

“If you like it, I will cook for you every day. All right?”

Leon cast her a glance as he lifted his hand and wiped away his tear. Then, he nodded slightly.

“How ridiculous! I’ve already cried twice after seeing Mommy! I don’t look like a brave boy!” he thought.

Seeing Leon finish all the food on the plate, Caroline clapped and caressed his head. “Bravo, Leo. You finished all my cooking. You’re such a good boy.”

Upon hearing that, Quintin could not bear but ask, “How is that possible? Did you shove all the food in his mouth?*

Utterly displeased, Caroline felt it was challenging to communicate with Quintin “Mr. Ziegler, I didn’t shove anything in his mouth. Leo loves my cooking, and he was the one who ate all of it. It proves my cooking is delicious. Didn’t you smell the fragrance of the food just now?”

Quintin became frustrated. He had a sensitive nose, and he could smell all the food.

He even kept swallowing his saliva after smelling it. It seemed like he was hungry, too, and he felt like eating.

However, since he had already rejected her just now, he didn’t dare to ask her for food again.

In truth, Caroline deliberately fed Leon inside the room to provoke Quintin

Just then, Caroline purposely uttered, “Leo has finished eating. Mr. Ziegler, do you want to eat some? If not, I will take them away.”

Hearing the leaving footsteps, Quintin could no longer hold back as he shouted. “Hold on! Did I say I don’t want to eat?”

“You said it just now!” she responded casually.

He thought to himself, “She’s doing this on purpose!”

“That was just now! Now, I want to eat!” Quintin impatiently knocked on the bed to protest.

Caroline snickered as she brought the food prepared for him and put it on the bedside table. Then, she helped him up and put two pillows behind him.

Her fair arms hooked around him while she picked him up. Her fair skin brushed against his cheeks and neck.

The cold sensation stimulated his senses as if there were electricity flowing.

Quintin could not see anything, but he could smell her pleasant scent when she approached him.

“This scent is familiar. I might have smelled it before.” Quintin wondered.

Before he could figure it out, Caroline ordered him to open his mouth. “Time to cat!”

Furrowing his brows tightly, Quintin didn’t open his mouth. Caroline was confused. “What’s wrong, Mr. Ziegler? Didn’t you request the food? Why aren’t you eating?”

“I don’t want you to feed me!” Even though he could not see, his pride didn’t allow him to receive sympathy and charity from a woman.

“All right. Suit yourself, then!”

Despite so, Quintin reached his hand and failed to grab anything. Seeing that, Caroline let out a sigh. “Mr. Ziegler, you can’t

and you can’t even find your bowl. Are you sure you want to eat yourself?”

Sec.

She wondered how long he would act stubbornly.

His expression darkened and was full of displeasure. Ultimately, he had no choice but to say, “Feed mel”

Caroline similed and started to feed him. After the first bite, he felt something was not right. “What is this?”

“Oatmeal!” she responded.

“Why are you giving me oatmeal? I don’t want it!” Quintin wanted to know what the pleasant fragrance was.

“Mr. Ziegler, this is the doctor’s instruction. You’ve just woken up, so you can’t eat solid food yet.”

He was rendered speechless.

“Is she doing this on purpose? Didn’t anyone tell her that I hated oatmeal the most?” he thought.

Chapter 12

Nodcing Quintin’s dissatisfaction, Caroline rolled her eyes. “Mr. Ziegler, how can you recover if you don’t eat something? You know you are just a pushover now, being blind and disabled. Don’t you want to recover fast and find out who the culprit behind your car crash was?

“How do you know there’s something more behind my car crash?” Quintin was slightly startled as he felt Caroline might not be as foolish as she seemed.

“Your driving skill is excellent, and you have a racing team. How could a person with superb skills like you rush out of the track for no reason and cause an accident? The only possibility was that you didn’t know who had tampered with your car and caused the brakes to fail!” Her assumption was very reasonable. It was also indeed what Quintin needed to find out.

“She’s right! Before the crash, I drove too fast, and the brakes failed. That was what caused the accident,” he thought.

After Quintin woke up, he had asked Flynn to arrange for his men to look into it secretly.

He was determined to find out the culprit and have his revenge.

“Feed me now!” Quintin’s foul temper seemed to have smoothened slightly as he finally agreed to eat the oatmeal.

Despite hating oatmeal, he discovered Caroline’s oatmeal had a rare, delicious taste after he savored it elegantly.

“Why didn’t I realize oatmeal can taste so good before?” he wondered.

Surprisingly, after finishing one bowl, Quintin asked for another bowl. Right then, two women entered the room.

Seeing Quintin eating, Carmen subconsciously furrowed her brows.

Caroline not only could handle Leon, who was stubborn, but she could even make Quintin obey her. Carmen didn’t expect that.

“Quintin, are you feeling better?” Seconds later, Carmen immediately put on a concerned look.

Upon hearing that, Caroline turned around. Seeing it was Carmen who came with another young lady, she immediately stood up.

“Quintin. I heard that you were awake. Carmen and I came to see you.” The younger woman was Carmen’s niece, Savannah. She was from the Xydias residence, one of the five great families in Jipsdale. Besides, she was called one of the Three Beauties of Jipsdale, the same as Yvonne.

Casting Caroline a glare, Savannah walked over and pushed her away. “We don’t need you here. Get lost now!”

Her tone sounded utterly domineering. It was as though she was the female owner of the place.

Caroline felt a strange hostility coming her way. Nonetheless, she didn’t say anything as she left the room with Leon

“Quintin, how are you feeling now?” Savannah asked after Caroline left.

“I won’t die from this,” Quintin responded coldly.

“I knew you would recover, and I believe you can return to the way you were. Do you know how sad I was after knowing what had happened to you? I’ve been praying for you and hoping that you recover fast.”

Due to her relationship with Carmen, Savannah managed to become the nursery teacher of the Ziegler family. Her main job was to take care of the three kids of the Ziegler family.

Taking care of the kids was merely a cover. Her real purpose was to marry Quintin.

She had been into Quintin for a long time and considered herself the best candidate to become his wife.

Previously, when she heard Quintin was dying, she thought there was no more hope for him. Thus, she had given up on him. Yet, now that he had awakened, she showed up immediately.

Nevertheless, whatever she had said, Quintin was still indifferent and insensitive to her.

Not giving up, Savannah continued, “Quintin, since you’re awake now, why don’t you ask that woman to go back? Let me stay here and take care of you, okay?”
