Chapter 109 

Scott picked up a cup of coffee, smelled it, and then finished it in one gulp. 

He said, “Don’t rush. I came to see you because I have something very important to discuss. 

*Tve seen Jenna. She told me herself that the injuries on her were inflicted by Dominick. That man is really vicious. It’s truly terrifying to have someone like that around.” 

Ethan frowned slightly, his gaze darkening. He knew that whenever Scott mentioned Dominick, it couldn’t be good. 

“What do you want to say? Just get to the point,” Ethan urged. 

Scott smiled, “Although you and Dominick are on good terms, you have to think it through. Dominick, with his volatile temperament, is genuinely dangerous for Layla, 

“That’s one thing. Secondly, Jenna is severely injured, and it was Dominick who did it. Jenna is your family, after all. Don’t you plan on welcoming her back into the family?” 

“Welcome her back into the family? Ethan asked. 

He was somewhat puzzled by Scott’s intentions and couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Shouldn’t Scott be focused on divorcing Jenna right now? Because only after they divorce, he would have the chance to marry Lola. 

Ethan asked, “When did you start getting involved in our family matters, Scott? And in what capacity are you involving yourself in my family’s affairs?” 

He hadn’t considered Jenna’s situation yet and was still unsure if she was sincere. 

Scott responded, “We’re going to be family sooner or later. I’m about to get a divorce, and I’ll still end up being your sister’s husband. In the end, we’re family.

“Jenna has been staying in the hospital all this while, which doesn’t look good for the Lewis family. I’m thinking about yo best interest here. 

“The Lewis family is no ordinary family. With the Lewis family’s heiress wandering outside, what would people outside think of you guys?” 

“You’ve thought it through, haven’t you? Should I thank you for considering our family, or what?” Ethan replied mockingly. He had thought about this issue, but when Scott brought it up, he couldn’t help but worry. 

Ethan then felt that Jenna’s placement indeed needed further consideration. 

“In my opinion, you should welcome Jenna back. Wouldn’t it be nice for your family to live together happily?” Scott couldn’t help but persuade further, saying, “Actually, I’ve been in contact with Jenna, and I think she really has turned over a new leaf and is willing to have a peaceful divorce with me. 

“Of course, that’s not the main point. The main point is Jenna is injured now, and if she’s east out from the family, Dominick might kill her.” 

Ethan narrowed his eyes, sensing something was off. “Scott, have you received some benefits from Jenna? Or do you have some agreement with her? Didn’t you particularly dislike her? Why are all your words in her favor today?” 

Scott’s eyes then flashed with an unusual look, and he forced a smile, replying, “How could there be any cooperation between us? 

“Fine, I’ll tell you the truth! 

“The thing is, Jenna being unpredictable is something I’m also wary of. So, I suggest you stabilize her situation for now. That way, Jenna won’t get upset. If she does, who knows what she might do. 

“To ensure a safe living environment for Layla, I think we should manage Jenna’s emotions to prevent her from doing anything extreme.” 

Ethan looked at Scott with a complex gaze, thinking, “What Scott is saying does make some sense. Whether genuine or not, as long as Jenna is stabilized and doesn’t cause trouble for Lola, it could be a solution.” 

“Are you sure there’s absolutely no deal between you two? Is that really what you think?” Ethan asked skeptically. 

Scott deliberately raised his voice a bit as he said, “How could that be possible?! Jenna and I have always had a tense relationship. Think about it. I can’t wait for Jenna to disappear! 

“You should understand how I feel. Although we’re usually at odds, our ultimate goal is the same, which is to protect Layla. 

“So, let’s go with my suggestion for now. At least stabilize Jenna for the time being. As for what happens later, we’ll deal with it then.” 

Ethan’s hand, which was resting on the table, gently tapped on the surface as he weighed his thoughts. 

He thought. Actually, Scott does have a point about Jenna being potential problem. To prevent Lola from being affected. it’s best to stabilize Jenna for now. 

“Tll consider it. You can go back now, Ethan said, getting up to leave. 

Upon noticing that Ethan was swayed, a hint of triumph flashed in Scott’s eyes, but he quickly masked it. 

Just take your time to think it over,” Scott responded. 

Ethan pondered over the matter overnight and eventually discussed it with his parents. 

Mason was somewhat adamant, while Jasmine seemed a bit more sympathetic. 

After all, Jenna was their own child. And now that she was injured, Jasmine felt uneasy at the thought of casting her out from the family after seeing her child in such a condition. 

“We, the Lewis family, do not acknowledge such a child, Mason insisted, but his tone was not as firm as before. 

Ethan then shared his thoughts, and the three of them remained silent in the study for a long while. 

“Perhaps Ethan is right. We shouldn’t upset Jenna. If she becomes unhappy and ends up harming Layla, that would be unfortunate,” Jasmine persuaded. 

Mason seemed swayed. “So….you mean, we should bring Jenna back to live with us?” 

Ethan shook his head slightly. “No need. Jenna has a house here. Let her continue living there, and we’ll just keep a close eye on her secretly.” 

Mason straightened his clothes and said, “If that’s the case, then I’ll leave it to you two to decide.” 

Jasmine breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Ethan. “Agreed. Till Jenna she can return to her previous residence. It’s best she avoids coming here too often, given your father’s attitude… 

Although she was also angry, she couldn’t bring herself to ignore Jenna completely. 

After making their decision, Ethan processed Jenna’s discharge from the hospital. 

He specifically warned Jenna about what to be cautious of before taking her out. 

Once she was back again in–ber castle, she was filled with mixed emotions. 

Jenna thought. If I were to be kicked out, this castle would be taken back. It seems Scott did a good job convincing the Lewis family. Now, I can live here peacefully 

With that thought in mind, she smirked, and her eyes shimmered with an unusu 

gleam. 

Jenna smugly pondered. The real show is just beginning. 

Just then, her phone suddenly rang. Jenna glanced at the caller ID and slightly frowned. 

Jenna said, “Hello? Grandpa, didn’t I tell you that my situation is very precarious right now? You shouldn’t call me so carelessly. It’s too easy to be discovered!” 

The 

person on the other line replied, “I got it. I just wanted to see how you’re settling in after going back. If there’s anything you need, I’ll try my best to fulfill it. However, regarding the task I gave you…”
