Chapter 95
Chapter 95
In the hotel, a few bodyguards slunk back to their room looking like a pack of
kicked puppies.
The fake Calvert was propped up on the couch, his face wiped clean of blood,
revealing bruises that painted his nose and cheeks. His body ached all over, and
he couldn't tell if any bones were broken.
He had already called for the hotel doctor to come over and give him a once—
over.
He couldn't fathom how a slip of a girl could pack such a wallop. He groaned in
pain, waiting for the doctor.

Across from him, Kermit was in a panic as he pleaded, “Mr. Wallace, I... I had no
idea my niece was such a spitfire. I'll drag her back here myself to apologize,
okay?”
Calvert snorted, thinking about demanding an apology from Cordelia..
“Business is business,” he finally grunted. “I don't let personal squabbles mess
with my deals” Kermit looked like he'd been thrown a lifeline. “So are we still on
for the investment?”
Calvert rolled his eyes. “The Smith family is kin to you, so I'll give you that much
respect. But the cash better be in my account quick, or you'll miss the boat.”
Kermit almost danced with relief. “I'll get right on it, sir!”
Overjoyed, Kermit responded, “I'll go straight away and prepare the funds, then
bring them right over to you!”
He wiped the sweat from his forehead, then went out to the door and turned
back, “Mr. Wallace, you can rest assured that I will educate Cordelia when I go
back!”
Thinking of Cordelia, Calvert flashed greedy desire in his eyes, “Send it again
after training next time.”
When Kermit left, Calvert showed a biting look on his face, “Oh, we will take as
much money as the Delaney family gives us!”
The person next to Calvert suddenly opened his mouth, “Should we withdraw?”

They were a fraud group. After coming to Greenmeadow, they occasionally knew
that a very was coming, so they bought off the Smith family and let him set up a
match in the middle, so that Jimmy mistakenly thought that he was Calvert and
came to please many times.
Fake Calvert showed the idea of investing in that big project. Jimmy was fooled
and rushed to send money. As for the Delaney family who crossed Calvert, it
would pay the price!
After dropping Cordelia off at school, Everard returned to the Midnight Scent.
“Boss, everything cool?” The real Calvert asked.
“Nope,” Everard replied, casting a side—eye at him. “I heard there's a big shot
named Calvert in town?"
Calvert froze, stammering out a confused response, “It's a trick to prevent the
investigation on you.”
Everard sighed. “Explain why this Calvert invited Cordelia over for breakfast at
his hotel?"
Calvert raced his mind raced. “I swear, boss, I'm innocent! I'd never cross you
with Cordelia!”
Everard kicked him. “Quit yapping and start digging!”
Five minutes later, Calvert slouched back, his face the picture of misery. Not only
was the fraudster using his name, but he was also raking in millions.
“Boss, do you think that Calvert is a good name?”
Everard, buried in his book, didn’t respond.
Calvert got to the point, “The guy's real name is Calvert, too. A con artist. He's
scammed the Smith family of over a hundred million, and now the Delaney family
is about to hand him fifty million.”

Everard darkened his eyes. The Delaney family?”
Calvert explained. T's Cordelia’s uncle, the one who took her to that idiot this
morning. They had a family feud yesterday, and it wasn't pretty”
Calvert's gaze turned cold as he continued. Tve got eyes on that fool. With your
order, well nab him.”
Everard drooped his eyelids as he let out a low chuckle. “Let's wait for Cordelie’s
uncle to hit the bank before we make our move,” he said, a sly grin tugging at the
corners of his mouth.
Despite her best efforts. Cordelia was late to class again. She slipped through
the back door and quietly slid into her seat with the grace of a cat burglar

ved with a whisper of sound, drawing only a fleeting glance from the biology
teacher, who was poised to chide her. But upon recognizing the top student of
the class, he simply resumed his lecture without a word.
Cornelis quickly pulled out her textbook and focused intently on the lesson,
catching up in no time. When the bell finally rang, the teacher packed up his
notes and left.
As Cordele was about to close her biology book, Juliane stood up with a sense of
righteous indignation. “Cordelia, can you please try not to be late? Our class has
always had a perfect discipline! Because of you, we might just miss out on the
Honorable Medal this month

Medal, a monthly award given to the
class with the best discipline
Every other class, especially Class 8, seemed forever doomed to miss out on this
coveted prize. But the competition between Class 1 and Class 2 was fierce. Both
were honors classes with pride and rivalry, comparing grades at every turn and
the Honorable Medal was no small matter.
The students in both classes were always on edge, with hardly anyone ever
being late. So when Juliana voiced ber complaint, the rest of the class was visibly
disgruntled
Hayley couldn't contain her frustration and blurted out, “You have no sense of
class honor at all! What's the point of being smart if you're going to be so selfis?
