Chapter 32: Don’t bother me
When she saw Serena, she smiled sweetly: “The legal counsel of Future Better Technology Company just called and asked us to submit materials. Serena, wait for my triumphant return.” The tone was friendly, but full of pride, showing off, and even provocation.
Serena nodded, sat down at her desk and turned on the computer, starting her day’s work. I was a little disappointed and unwilling. The results of hard work in the early stage were replaced by another person. Anyone would feel down. Fortunately, she adjusted her state quickly and did not let negative emotions affect her.
Near noon, I suddenly received a Whatsapp from Blair
“Your Emma’s head was squeezed by the door? Send someone called Nina?”
“She’s my colleague, what’s wrong?”
“Did she regard Future Better Technology Company as a show? From the legal department to the human resources department, and now go to the secretary’s room to chat. I, Blair, have met my opponent so far.”
“That’s good, it means that Emma didn’t choose the wrong person.” Serena was disappointed and had to admire Nina’s ability to communicate.
“However, I passed by the secretary’s office just now, and I

heard that the people in the secretary’s office were scolded bloody by Penn for letting a stranger walk around in the company? Now you Nina left Future Better Technology Company with red eyes.” Blair said, laughing gloatingly.
But Serena couldn’t laugh. No matter what grievances she had with Nina, she hoped that the Future Better Technology Company project would go well. It’s just that she didn’t understand why Emma, who was always cautious, sent Nina there? In terms of communication skills, the high–level lawyers in the M&A team are no worse than her.
Nina returned to the law firm with red eyes, and went directly to Emma’s office to report.
During the meeting, Emma had a very bad face, but she didn’t criticize Nina too much. When Nina wanted to defend herself, she waved her hand to signal her to shut up.
Charlie said privately: “Nina’s father is the president of The Bank of New York Company Inc., and Emma’s major client.”
The implication is that her father put pressure on Emma, and Emma had no choice but to train her.
“This girl can’t figure it out. She met Penn at the subway entrance that day, and she fell in love with her at first sight, so she wanted to join this project.”
That’s it. No wonder she was not interested in the Future Better Technology Company project before, but now she had made a 180–degree turn, and she understood why Emma, who had always been strict, indulged Nina again and again.
And she had nothing, so she could only work hard and

strived for opportunities.
Julia from Future Better Technology Company called and finally confirmed the bidding time and sent an invitation to Emma, which will be next Monday. And Serena had to write the bid for Emma’s reference before Friday.
Her first edition had been prepared, and she would send it to Charlie first.
“The PPT is beautifully done and the content is complete, but there are two more items that you can add. One is the time required for the project, and the other is our
quotation.”
Although Charlie was not her tutoring lawyer, he was indeed guiding her hand in hand. These two contents of the bidding documents are generally not written by newcomers, but he still guides her to do so, allowing her to participate in the whole process more completely.
Serena was naturally very grateful, thinking that after the bidding session ended, she must treat him to dinner.
“The most important thing is that you grow up. Work hard.”
In the evening, Penn was cooking. She was sitting on the coffee table in the living room with her computer in her arms, working intently on revising the bid documents. After a while, Penn called her
“Serena, wash your hands and eat.”
I didn’t hear it, didn’t want to talk about it, and continued to work hard.

Penn called her a few more times, and she got annoyed, so she simply carried the computer to the desk in the guest room to work, only missing the locked door. Penn then followed in, bent down to glance at her computer screen, and continued
“Work after dinner.”
Serena was really annoying. She hadn’t sorted out the quotation yet. It involved project members, business trip. expenses, investigation public relations fees and other issues. A terrible headache. Next to it was Penn’s persistent voice asking her to eat. She couldn’t help but looked up at him.
“Can you go out first? I’m not hungry.
”
Perhaps no one had ever dared to talk to him like this before. His face darkened, and he reached out to close her laptop, saying without a doubt
“Eat first!” Very domineering.
The small fire in Serena’s heart also ignited. Just when she was about to get angry, Penn reached out to wrap her shoulders and walked out.
“After eating, I’ll change it for you.”
After hearing his words, Serena couldn’t help but look up at the people beside her, and questioned
“Can you help me change it? Do you know what kind of tender I am making?”

“Future Better Technology Company’s bidding meeting on Monday.” He took her to the restaurant and pulled a chair for her to sit down.
Serena was sceptical, if Penn was willing to help change it, even if it was to give some advice, it would undoubtedly be the most valuable, just trusted him for once.
Because of this, she was extraordinarily obedient. He brought food to her, and she ate it all, so that she was a little full.
“Go downstairs for a walk?” Penn asked.
“No.” She resolutely refused. First, she didn’t want to be seen by the relationship between the two, and second, she didn’t want him to make excuses not to help her change the bid.
While he was washing the dishes, she ran back to the desk. and took out the computer and stood behind him and waited. Penn turned around and saw her staring at him, she looked very cute, like a primary school student waiting for the teacher on the podium Answer questions and solve puzzles.
“Let me take a look.” He took the computer from her, sat at the dining table nearby, and slid the mouse from the first page to the last. Serena was ready with a pen and a
notebook, ready to not miss even a single expression from Penn, which was of reference value.
After receiving it, he quickly turned to the last page and only said a sentence.

What? Serena’s little head was full of doubts, so she was cheated by him again, right? How could he really help her change the bid.
She was so angry that she lost her voice, and looked at the man in front of her in disbelief. But this man didn’t change his face, talking nonsense in a serious manner
“According to your level, it is indeed good enough, very complete, and everything that should be involved has been mentioned.”
Serena was irritated, like a lion cub with fried hair: “Don’t judge by my level, what I want is opinions, your opinions, your requests, your ideas.” She knew that he had a clear distinction between public and private, So even though they were together every day recently, she never asked him for help, but just now he offered to help her change.
She was yelling, but Penn was not angry. Instead, he stroked her hair like a smooth hair, but he still persisted until
“Have a little confidence in yourself, your bid is perfect.”
Serena was speechless. It was impossible to take advantage of this man. She hugged the computer angrily and prepared to get up and leave.
“If you have to have a suggestion, it’s the final quotation. You don’t need to be so detailed, because some public relations expenses are beyond your expectation. You only need one sentence to solve them. The public relations fee is based on the actual output.”
