Love Is Colder than Death

Chapter 13 He Was Really Scared

He was really scared.

The moment he saw she spat blood in front of his eyes, he was overwhelmed by an unprecedented panic and terror. He was anxious and scared to death when holding that light body. Initially, he hated her.

She's arrogant, she followed him without any self-esteem.

She interfered with his relationship with Snow, she even ruined his wedding on the very day. She was always of such pride and arrogance.

But it was this woman that stayed beside him for three hundred years. It was her that got him through the Apocalypse. It was her that fell for him. It was her that helped him numerous times secretly. She's proud, stubborn, brave, kooky. She had always tried to make him laugh even though he was a dull guy.

She had said, "Jun Mohan, only you almost fit me all over Six Lands, Four Seas, and Eight Directions."

She had said, "Jun Mohan, actually, you have already fallen for me, right?"

She had said, "Jun Mohan, can you just believe me just once?"

She also had said, "Jun Mohan, I promise you I won't follow you in the future..." Who asked her to make this promise? She had followed him for such a long time, how could she just give up this easily? Where was her pride? Where was her temper?

Jun Mohan took her in his arms and headed for his own chamber. Snow wanted to follow him but she bit her lip and turned around instead.

The war between the Fairy people and Asmodians started in a sudden and stopped in a blink of an eye, which was merely a conspiracy planned by the Asmodians.

Asmodians soldiers withdrew like the ebb of the tide. The Fairy Land gained peace again.

A woman in black cape appeared in a remote corner on the Fairy Land. She covered her face, looked around anxiously from time to time as if she was waiting for somebody. The woman was exactly Princess Snow. Soon, the cloud on the west side started to twist. Then a purple eddy was formed.

From that eddy, there oozed Asmodian gas from time to time. No matter how she pretended to be calm, when Snow saw the figure showed up from the eddy, she couldn't stop trembling, which was a fear from the bottom of her heart. "Well, Princess Snow. You let me down again!"

The true Asmodian Lord didn't come here, what's in front of Snow was merely his primordial spirit. Although his face could not be clearly seen, Asmodian gas was gathering intensively around his figure.

"I... I didn't..." Snow's two legs were shaking wildly. For she had no other way to resort, she wouldn't have confronted this horrible devil. She just had no idea what to do!

"I... I just did what you asked me to do. Phoenix was about to die, it was just an incidence... I didn't foresee that Jun Mohan would come back anyway.

"Humph!" The Asmodian Lord snorted. The sound came from his thoracic cavity, which was like a windblown from the cave, and made whoever heard it quiver. "What a useless crap!"

The snow was humiliated by the devil in front of her. She didn't dare to respond but clenching her teeth. Her eyes were filled with ultimate fear. She knew that the devil could burn her into ashes by merely snapping his fingers. "Asmodian Lord, although I failed to kill that woman, I have drained all her blood! She could never have the chance to survive! You can't kill me... for... for I attribute all Phoenix blood to you..."

"Ha, ha, ha, ha..." Asmodian Lord laughed madly as if he had heard an extremely funny joke. Then he leaned a little bit and said, "When did I say I'm gonna kill you? You just come closer."

She refrained from her fear and came up closer to him.

When she walked near him, a voice echoed in her head.

"What?" She exclaimed and stared at him unbelievably. For a moment, she even forgot her fear, "You... you let me... No way, if he's dead, what about me?"

"What a foolish woman! Do you really think Jun Mohan would be hypnotized by you?"

She was stuck. He was telling the truth!

Jun Mohan started to treat Phoenix well just now!

No one knew him better than her--maybe Jun Mohan himself didn't realize that Phoenix was in his heart!

Or perhaps, he loved Phoenix from the very first time. While she was just a substitute for her.

How long could she cover the truth under this condition?

Maybe he had already got the truth. That goddamn Phoenix played the white jade flute at the moment. Was there any chance on earth that he had been aware of something? Did he know that it was Phoenix that saved him three hundred years ago?

She looked up at Asmodian Lord in doubt. If she was meant to lose him, then just destroy... She would never, never let them be together without doing anything!

"The death of phoenix girl must strike Celestial people a lot so that they will stop allying with the Fairy Land. And after Jun Mohan's dead, then, ha, ha, ha... There will be one impede my reigning Six Lands! Great!"

"And you'll be the heroine to the Asmodians. As for your father--the West Sea Dragon Emperor will be the next Fairy Emperor..."
