Chapter 96: Self-destruction of a hand
Once Hector Rogers walked out of the room, he saw Rupert Rogers waiting in the corridor.
"Brother, how is the sister-in-law?" Rupert Rogers stepped forward and opened his mouth to ask.
"There's nothing more to it." He looked at Rupert Rogers and spoke again and asked, "How did this happen?" Naturally, this is a question about why Eloise Thompson fell into the sea.
Hector Rogers grimaced a little as Rupert Rogers gave a full account of what he knew.
"I was about to go back to my room to rest when I heard my sister-in-law's voice just as I walked to the first floor of the deck and walked over to see her having an argument with a man, the man ... seemed to be harassing her on purpose, my sister-in-law had said something about not touching her, the man still got an inch, then my sister-in-law resisted and because of her weight unstable and fell into the sea."
At that, Hector Rogers grimaced even more. So that's what he said about why the good Eloise Thompson had fallen into the water.
His cool voice spoke up and asked, "Where are the men?"
Rupert Rogers knew that this man was unlucky, and it was his own fault for provoking his sister-in-law.
"Already caught it, it's upstairs in the room! Brother you go and change your clothes first!"
Hector Rogers nodded and, having changed, followed Rupert Rogers to the side room.
Inside the house, Gordon Basil was watched by two bodyguards, his face was pale and vaguely visible, and his whole body was shaking with panic.
Just then, the door to the room was opened.
Hector Rogers walked in, a sombre aura emanating from his entire body like a king, and all of a sudden a powerful sense of oppression spread throughout the room.
Fear, anxiety and regret flooded Gordon Basil's mind as he crawled to his knees like a dog, tugging at Hector Rogers' trouser legs and begging for mercy: "Mr Hector, please let me go! I was just drunk and confused, I really didn't mean to do anything to her. She fell into the water by accident, Mr Hector, please let me and my family go!"
If Hector Rogers really pursued this matter, the Basil family would be finished.
Hector Rogers drew his leg away and he stepped on Gordon Basil's hand and spoke in a grim tone, "Haunted? I think you're enjoying yourself, she told you not to touch her, didn't you hear?"
"Yes! My sister-in-law is struggling there are you blind! Can't you see that behind you is the railing? Don't you know that's the sea down there?" Rupert Rogers also spoke up to question.
The pain spread from the back of his hand to his whole body and Gordon Basil's face twisted in pain, but he didn't dare to cry out in pain and could only hold back and speak, "Mr Hector, Rupert, I really know I'm wrong." Hector Rogers lifted his foot and kicked the man straight to the side.
"Say it! How are you responsible for this matter?"
Gordon Basil rolled twice on the floor once he crawled over and kept kowtowing to Hector Rogers in acknowledgement of his mistake.
"Mr Hector, I know I'm wrong, just spare my family, you can beat me and scold me and make me pay whatever you want, please."
Gordon Basil knew in his heart that he had offended Hector Rogers and that this was the time to take his anger away.
Hector Rogers pursed his lips and spoke nonchalantly, "Any price?"
Gordon Basil nodded and looked at Hector Rogers with a troubled look on his face. He had a sudden bad feeling in his heart and paused only to hear the man's low voice come through. "Then I will let you go if you waste one of your own hands."
Disposing of a hand?
Gordon Basil was shocked and his face turned ugly, knowing full well that Hector Rogers was not joking at all.
"Ken ... Mr Hector," Gordon Basil gulped, scared to death.
Rupert Rogers also spoke from the sidelines, "What are you doing? Do it, or do I have to do it myself so you can learn the hard way who to mess with and who not to mess with?"
With that, Rupert Rogers started to roll up his sleeves, and if he did it, it would probably be as simple as breaking a hand.
Gordon Basil went white with fear as he continued to beg, "Mr Hector, Rupert, I really know I was wrong, and I didn't mean to go to Miss Eloise, it's because I was told that there was a woman prepared for me on the first floor of the deck.... that's why I went over and ran into Miss Eloise, Mr Hector, I really know I was wrong, please let me go!"
Esme Lawson did say so to Gordon Basil, who came to the first floor of the deck and saw Eloise Thompson.
Gordon Basil didn't expect the woman Esme Lawson was talking about to be her, but Eloise Thompson was already beautiful, and Gordon Basil was a man who was usually greedy for money and lust, plus he was drinking a lot. So he didn't even think twice about it.....
In retrospect, Gordon Basil regretted it a million times over.
A broken arm, how painful that must be!
Without his hand, he would not be able to stay in high society, and the Basil family would become a joke in the eyes of everyone.
Hector Rogers' face turned grim as he asked angrily, "Who is it?"
They thought it was just a case of Gordon Basil having a momentary fling, but they didn't realise there was a mastermind behind it.
Who exactly is it? To have a go at Eloise Thompson.
"Tell me now, or you'll be waiting for someone to collect your body for you if you don't!"
Gordon Basil's heart was in his throat, he couldn't possibly defend anyone else at this point in time, he quickly agreed, "It was Esme Lawson, she told me to go to the second deck, Mr Hector, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have gone to Miss Eloise, Miss Eloise wouldn't have fallen into the water, it was all her fault. It's all her fault, please let me go!"
Esme Lawson, who Hector Rogers didn't recognise, but the name seemed vaguely familiar.
Hector Rogers didn't know who this person was, Rupert Rogers on the side did and he spoke up, "Brother, it's Reeva Lawson's cousin."
It's not easy that the Lawson family is involved in this matter!
At that, Hector Rogers' gaze sank and he ordered his men, "Get me the man."
Esme Lawson and Reeva Lawson were in the room at the moment. They had been upset since Hector Rogers rescued Eloise Thompson and carried her back to the room. "Cousin, what should I do, I'm panicking!"
Hector Rogers will certainly not let Gordon Basil off the hook, and Gordon Basil will surely give her up when the time comes.
Hector Rogers, who now dotes on Eloise Thompson so much, would not have let her off the hook if he knew he was behind it.
"What's the point of panicking now, if Hector Rogers comes after you, remember what I just told you, if anything goes wrong our whole Lawson family could be in trouble."
