Love Comes To Me

Chapter 333: It's All My Fault

In the ward, Hector's mother was feeding Solomon when she saw Eloise return and said nonchalantly, "You're back." "Hmm."

Eloise, sensing Hector's mother's displeasure with her, couldn't help but get nervous and squeeze her palms as she walked over. "Mummy." Solomon called out in a brittle voice.

Eloise gave him a gentle smile, "Solomon be a good boy, eat your food and mummy will play with you again."

"I want mummy to feed."

"This..." Eloise looked over at Hector's mother.

Hector's mother also happened to look at her.

The glance was a little cold, like looking at a stranger.

Eloise's heart sank and the hands that fell to her side slowly clenched.

"Grandma, I want Mummy to feed." Solomon looked at Hector's mother with a hint of begging in his eyes.

Hector's mother, displeased with Eloise, but still loving her grandson, could only smile and say, "Okay, let your mummy feed him." Solomon burst out laughing and turned his head to look at Eloise.

Hector's mother handed the bowl over, "You feed."

"Good." Eloise took it in a heartbeat.

"Then you feed, and I'll go and bring Rupert his food."

Hector's mother lifted the thermos on the bedside table and spoke to Eloise.

"Good."

Watching her leave, Eloise just sat down on the edge of the bed.

Solomon looked at her, "Mummy, has that bad aunty been locked up by the police uncle?"

"Yeah." Eloise nodded.

"What about... the brother?"

"Hmm?" Eloise didn't understand for a moment why he was asking that.

"Will little brother not have a mother afterwards? So is he just like Solomon before, without a mum, poor thing."

Speaking of which, Solomon is a little sad..

"Solomon, that aunt will only be locked up for a while and will be home soon."

The child is really kind and even if people bully him, he still gets upset about such things.

"Really?" Solomon's dull little face lit up at once.

Eloise smiled softly, "Of course it's true."

As she fed him, she continued, "You need to be good and eat your food so that you will get well faster and you can go home sooner."

On hearing this, Solomon took a big bite of his meal and ate it with great gusto, finishing it off in a few moments.

Eloise wiped his mouth and asked, "Solomon, have you eaten enough?"

Solomon nodded, "Full."

"That's good." Eloise stroked his little cheeks and continued, "You lie still, and if you get sleepy, sleep a little. Mummy's going out for a bit." "Where are you going?" Solomon's big eyes stared straight at her, "Are you coming back to stay with me?"

Eloise promised earnestly, "Of course, I'll always be there for you."

Solomon smiled reassuringly at this, "Go on then Mummy, I'll be good."

"That's a good boy." Eloise stroked his head.

...

Eloise was going to Rupert's and had just reached the door of the ward when she heard Hector's mother's voice coming from inside.

"You said that since your brother met Eloise, there seems to be a constant storm of things going on. No, now even Solomon is in trouble." "Mom, are you blaming your sister-in-law for this?"

"I'm not blaming her, I'm just not very comfortable inside."

Rupert laughed and looked at her helplessly askance, "Mum, I'm telling you, whatever happened before, or this time with Solomon, has nothing to do with sister-in-law."

That didn't go down well with Hector's mother, "That's not right, how can you say it's okay? It's more or less related to her."

"Mom, aren't you just blaming your sister-in-law?"

Hector's mother grimaced and didn't say anything.

Rupert sighed, "Mum, you'd better not show something in front of your sister-in-law, she's a very sensitive person and in case she's imagining things again, you're just giving your brother a hard time." Hector's mother's face still looks bad.

Rupert added, "You and Dad have accepted your sister-in-law, so don't think about all that nonsense, it's important for the family to get along."

"It would be better if you got me a girlfriend." Hectorâ€TMs mother gave him an indignant look.

"Mom, why are you bringing this up?" Rupert really didn't understand how her mind could jump so far.

He was talking about the East and she was mentioning the West instead.

It's really impossible to communicate.

"Forget it, I won't talk about it." Rupert gave up.

Hector's mother then gave a small smile and said, "Don't worry, I'm just talking, I won't do anything to Eloise."

Although she did have a bit of a problem with Eloise this time when Solomon had his accident, it was just that and nothing more.

Eloise leaned back against the wall and looked up at the ceiling, her lips curving in a somewhat mournful manner.

She could feel the coldness of Hector's mother.

She is not stupid and knows that it is because of Solomon, but it is not Hector's mother's fault. She loves Solomon so much and must be especially distressed that Solomon is hurt and must be angry with her. It's just hard to hear it in person, but it's still hard on the heart.

...

Solomon spent one night in hospital and went home the next day.

"Solomon, you and Grandpa Butler go upstairs while I have a word with your grandmother."

"Hmm."

Solomon was dutifully led upstairs by his grandfather the butler, looking back every now and then.

Eloise smiled and waved her hand at him, waiting for them to go up to the first floor before she withdrew her eyes and turned her head to look at Hector's mother.

"Do you have something to say to me?" Hector's mother asked.

Compared to yesterday, Hector's mother was much nicer, less cold, but something didn't feel right.

"Auntie, I want to say I'm sorry." Eloise bowed her head, like a child who had made a mistake.

Hector's mother was confused, "What's going on here?"

"It's my fault for not taking care of Solomon and for letting this happen to Solomon."

Hearing her conversation with Rupert yesterday, Eloise thought a lot about it.

Rather than letting this matter become a knot in her heart, it would be better to set the record straight herself first, lest we all get upset later.

Hector's mother didn't expect her to say that and froze, but quickly reacted and said, "Don't you say that, it's not your fault."

"Auntie, Solomon has hardly ever been bumped or touched under your care. You must be particularly distressed to have been hurt like this this time, and I'm really sorry." She apologised once more.

Hector's mother was suddenly a little unnatural, she did have a bit of a problem with her, but now she was so sincere in her apology that it was really a little disconcerting. Hectorâ€TMs mother sighed and said, “Eloise, itâ€TMs not your fault. The fault is that the other person was too brutal and unreasonable, and Auntie doesn't blame you." "Are you sure you don't blame me?" Eloise was afraid she was just paying lip service.

Hector's mother couldn't help but smile, "Of course I don't blame you. To be honest, I did get a bit angry at first, thinking that you weren't looking after Solomon, but then I thought about it and I really can't blame you for that. So don't get your head in the clouds."

At those words, Eloise's hanging heart relaxed slightly and she pursed her lips in a smile, "Thank you Aunty for understanding."

"Well, don't you fool around, hurry up and get some rest upstairs." Hector's mother said gently.

Eloise nodded, "Good."

With the matter out of the way, Eloise finally breathed a long sigh of relief and the stone that had been weighing on her heart finally fell to the ground.
