Chapter 663 Love is Never Easy to Let Go (Part Two)
"Give it to me," Molly's words were curt and intimidating.
But Fly managed to play tough and answered, "No." Then she scoffed and continued, "Molly, you're indeed a little bitch. You're a two-timer flirt. You're not contented with one man; you seduced both Spark and Brian. Look at you, you slut..." Bang! Fly didn't even finish her insulting words when Molly slapped her.
That harsh slap astonished every one watching. The onlookers looked at them, then at each other, wondering the cause of the scene. They didn't expect the good-humored Molly to lose her temper like that. Ignoring the stare of everyone, Molly lunged on Fly, trying to snatch her ring back.
But Fly was not easy to deal with. She screamed, pushed Molly forcefully aside, and raised her hand to slap Molly back. But Molly saw through her and she dodged her attack easily.
"Molly, you bitch! You will pay for this," Fly howled madly, "How dare you hit me."
"Give me my ring!" Molly emphasized as she gnashed her teeth.
"You want the ring? Fine!" Fly roared as she glared at Molly. The next minute, she was pushing people aside to block Molly, then she opened the window.
"No!"
Molly was shocked. She watched the ring fly out the window and vanish in the rain.
Indignantly, Fly looked at Molly's look of bewilderment and disbelief, then moving forward and raising her hand, she slapped Molly back.
Fly hit her so hard that Molly's head was tossed aside and her mouth was caught by her teeth. Instantly, blood filled her mouth and started streaming down the corner of her lips.
With her cold threatening eyes, Fly looked at Molly and warned her, "Molly, this isn't over."
Molly's cheek swelled right away because of the wound, and the burning ache brought her into consciousness. She looked up at Fly with equally icy look and answered calmly, "If I can't find my ring, you're gonna pay the price." Then she stormed out after casting an intense glare at Fly. Right after she ran out of the lounge, Molly bumped into Myra and Little Cutie.
"Molly," Myra called her attention but sadly, Molly didn't stop; she just hurried forward as if she didn't see them.
Little Cutie exchanged looks with Myra. Slightly surprised, she said perplexedly, "What's the matter with Molly?"
Myra's eyes scanned the lounge and spotted Fly. She walked inside and asked, "What happened?"
Silence. Nobody answered and there was only a stunned silence inside. Nobody knew how to answer. Well, Myra played the cello, while they were all just assistants. They couldn't think of a better way to present the story to her. "What could have happened?" Fly broke the silence and scorned, "She threw the ring away, then tried to find it back. She just flaunted her diamond ring for everyone to see!"
Fly cast a glance outside the window and saw Molly who looked like a drowned rat. Seeing that, Fly sneered and left.
Little Cutie glared at Fly before fetching an umbrella and hurrying out.
Myra walked to the window and shouted to Molly who was rummaging through the grassland, "Molly, get inside the house first. We will help you find your ring when the rain stops! You'll get sick in the rain!"
But Molly ignored her voice. She just kept kneeling down to the ground, searching in the grass, while drenched in water. 'This was where the ring might have ended up judging from where it had been thrown out,' she thought.
The soil became soft and muddy because of the heavy rain. Molly could feel her knees sinking in the mud. But that didn't bother her at all. She just kept her eyes open despite the raindrops and kept on searching.
She could feel the pain whenever the big drops of rain smacked her skin. The mud made her a complete mess. But her appearance and health didn't matter that much in comparison to her ring. She didn't care what she looked like nor how she'll end up after soaking in the rain. All she cared about now was to find the ring. She tossed it out last time, but she found it back eventually despite the length of time it took her to look for it. But this lawn was much smaller than that in the villa, hence, she believed she could definitely recover her ring this time much quickly.
"Molly," Little Cutie called. Seeing Molly's wretched look, she hurried forward and held an umbrella over Molly to cover her. "Molly, it's raining cats and dogs. How about we search for it later when the rain stops?" Little Cutie suggested.
But her words were like water off a duck's back. Molly seemed not to hear anything and kept fumbling in the lawn. Seeing that Molly was too stubborn to be persuaded, Little Cutie stomped with determination, dropped the umbrella, joined her instead, and said, "I'll help you." Amidst the heavy rain, two slim messy figures were helplessly inching on the grass. But the weather had no mercy. It rained even harder, the rain was so fierce that they could barely open their eyes.
"You should go back," Molly said as she collapsed on the ground. The rain dripped from her hair and eyelashes and streamed down her face, then to her body.
"Molly, why don't we find it later?" Little Cutie's voice trembled in cold. Her eyes were forced shut.
"You go back," Molly's voice was neutral and cold as if all her emotions had been flushed away by the heavy rain.
"Molly."
"Get inside," Molly howled.
Quivering, Little Cutie stood up and picked up the umbrella, but she didn't leave.
"Go!"
Molly said. Biting her lips, Little Cutie turned around, her eyes caring and sorrowful. Still, she took her time to leave. For every few steps, she would look back at Molly who was still desperately looking in the ground.
Molly's figure was alone as if she was isolated from the whole world. The cold rain, together with her warm tears, stroked her face. She bit her lips resolutely. Yet the trembling lips betrayed her distress and bitterness. Molly took a deep breath to get herself together before continuing her search.
Meanwhile, Spark stood in the pathway under an umbrella. Seeing Molly's helpless figure broke his heart and filled his eyes with tears. He couldn't bear seeing Molly in such a situation.
As the umbrella fell to the ground, Spark hurried to Molly and stooped before her.
That sudden presence made Molly stop. She looked at the white sneakers before her and looked up to see Spark's face. "Spark?"
Her trembling voice was like a dagger piercing into Spark's heart. He grabbed Molly's shoulder and shouted furiously, with eyes deep with anger and pain, "What do you think you're doing? You might get sick in the rain. And you might die of fever. Why do you have to do this, risking your life?"
"Spark," Molly uttered through her pale lips, "I can't find my ring."
Her choking murmur made Spark's nose twitch in distress. Molly was risking her life all for the sake of a ring?
A ring? That was the thing that caused all these hardships and efforts?
His heart was stung. Inside, it was bleeding. Now he understood how much Molly had loved Brian. She had always put Brian closest to her heart.
"Spark," Molly lowered her head in frustration and cried once again.
He couldn't stand seeing the woman he loved suffer like this. Without a choice, Spark said, "I'll help you."
"Thank you," Molly nodded.
Both rummaged through the grass while weathering the heavy beat of rain. It was both depressing and romantic, truth be told.
"I found it! Mol, is this your ring?" Spark asked excitedly as he held up his hand.
Molly first went blank, she was too numb to process everything, but then she rushed towards Spark. But she barely stood up before falling to the ground. She was too feeble to stand up now. All her energy had been exhausted and she seemed to lose control of her body. But what was even more surprising was that she climbed over.
She got the ring and tried to check if it was indeed her wedding ring. But the heavy raindrops prevented her from opening her eyes. It took her some serious blinks and Spark's hand-formed rainshelter to see it clearly.
It was her ring. And her blood seemed to have integrated with the blue K. At the sight of the ring, Molly couldn't help but start crying.
She clutched the ring firmly in her hand. All her grievances and anguish erupted at that moment. She hugged Spark's neck and cried sorrowfully. While sobbing, she murmured, "I found it. I found it. Finally, I found it." Heartbroken, Spark embraced her tightly and comforted her despite the pain in his heart, "Yes, you found it."
The two held each other in the rain. At least that was what Brian saw as he stood at the corner. And it made his heart sink. 00000000000
