Love Began with the First Meeting

Chapter 1370 Extra Story 125 Of Edgar A Trap

Edgar tried to calm himself down. He pulled down Henry and put a finger under Henry's nose. He frowned when he found out that Henry's breathing was getting weak and slow. He stood up at once and ran to the direction where the bullet came from. There was a bullet hole in the glass window, small cracks, and scattered glass fragments. He could tell which gun was used at a first glance. It was a 0.50 caliber pistol of the Eagle of the Desert. This kind of pistol was improved later. To some extent, it could be equal to a M16 assault rifle at a certain distance.

Edgar glanced around the place and found that there were many places suitable to attack Henry. It was hard to tell where the assault point was due to the city lights. Edgar had no time to think it over. He turned back and found Henry dead. The bullet got straight into his heart. He had died without uttering another word.

Edgar took out his phone and tried to call Jerry. But while he was dialing Jerry's number, he saw a person sliding away from the corner of his eyes. Without any second thoughts, he chased quickly after that person.

The man seemed terrified when Edgar chased him onto his tracks so he sped up and jumped out of the community in a few minutes.

Edgar also sped up, following him, and jumped over the wall. He never knew that there was a small man-made park behind the community until now. There were a lot of rocks and trees that stood in rows. Even though the leaves had fallen down during winter, the trees still blocked the view.

Edgar kept his focus on the man and took even quicker steps. At the side of a small lake, which got frozen, he managed to tackle the man onto the ground.

The man had agile movements so he wasn't frightened because of Edgar's actions. He managed to give Edgar a surprise punch and jumped back to his feet at the same time.

It felt like time stopped for them as they stared at each other.

The man moved his eyes around, trying to find a way to escape. Unfortunately, he found that there were many obstacles no matter which direction he would take. He couldn't escape from behind since there was a fake amber decoration. It wasn't an ideal path. Then there was Edgar in front of him so it was harder to escape at that direction.

Edgar looked at the man. The man wore a protective helmet, only showing his eyes and mouth. It was hard to identify him because of the equipment even if daylight. And the dark night only made it more difficult.

"Who the hell are you?" Edgar asked coldly. "Why did you kill Henry?" His tone was domineering, enough to frighten others in the cold dark night.

The man kept glancing around and seemed to hold something inside his hand. When Edgar asked, he got so nervous that he couldn't help but squeeze his hand.

Edgar narrowed his eyes and kicked the man's chest directly. Since the man was agile, he turned sideways to dodge the kick.

Edgar didn't stop his movements. The moment he retracted his leg back, he did another kick with his other leg. The man wasn't given any time to put down his things. He was thinking on how to run away while trying to block Edgar's attacks.

The man had no other choice than to look for an escape route while Edgar couldn't catch him, either. Edgar kept throwing harder and faster attacks but the man still had the strength to resist. It was like a battle no one could win.

The man didn't want to deal with Edgar. He kept stepping backward, trying to leave as quickly as he could. However, Edgar wouldn't give him any chance to escape.

No matter how hard he tried, he was unable to escape. He was forced to take another step backwards. Anxiety was present in his eyes. If he was forced to step back onto the corner of the wall, he wouldn't have any other way. If there were more people, it would be more difficult for him.

However, Edgar kept attacking him and he winced. He didn't wanted to fight and just wanted to leave. Since he couldn't leave as he planned previously, he didn't have any choice but to fight against Edgar.

That man delivered a flying a kick, which forced Edgar back two steps. At the same time, he turned back and ran. If he ran quickly enough, he would be able to buy time to get away.

Unfortunately, Edgar didn't give him any chances to escape.

Edgar kept running after the man, and finally got ahold of him in that community. The night was dark and cold. There were a few people outside. Hence, the man chose a quiet place which made Edgar speed up Despite carrying a pistol in his hand, the man didn't fire it, not to attract attention. He was worried that Edgar was so keen on catching him.

Edgar was also worried about the man carrying a pistol. He might fire it, causing attention, or worse, casualties within the area.

Both men had their worries. Edgar was mad that the man started to run in a slower pace, finding the best chance to escape.

Edgar narrowed his eyes and lunged forward to the ground. He managed to kick the man's ankle, making the latter stumble. This gave Edgar a chance to grab that man's wrist. The man howled in pain, his hand shivered, and his pistol fell into Edgar's hand. Bang! A sound of a gunshot forced the two men to look away with their thumping hearts. The pistol was in Edgar's hand but it wasn't him who made that gunshot.

Edgar froze for a while. Meanwhile the man seized the opportunity to pull his wrist away and finally got away.

This time around, Edgar didn't follow but turned back and ran towards the house where Henry was. The door was the same as it had been when Edgar made the chase. It was left unopened. Edgar took out a paper clip to open the door. There weren't any changes inside the room and his eyes fell at the broken window where the bullet passed through. The bullet hole was knocked by someone and fragments of glass were scattered in the balcony and the room.

Suddenly a "clunk" sound from outside came. When Edgar frowned and did a stance in case of an attack, Jerry had entered the room.

Jerry hadn't noticed the poor Henry lying on the floor and quickly made his way to Edgar. "You're here! I called you but your phone was busy!" He walked ahead. "So Henry has rented a room here. It... Ah! Oh God!"

Jerry didn't manage to finish his words. Anxiously, he walked towards Edgar. He wanted to say that he had heard a gunshot, so he hurried to the place. He stumbled and sat down onto the floor. His eyes went wide like saucers and couldn't find the words to say.

He had already seen Henry's body on the floor. Henry's eyes were wide open and the fear of death was still present in his frozen expression.

"Ah! What happened here?" Jerry was first shocked and calmed himself down. He took a deep breath and stood up. Since he was a military man and used to scenarios like this, the first thing he had to do was check the corpse.

"So he was shot to death. The person who could have done this must have good skills." Jerry frowned and turned to Edgar. He gulped when he saw the pistol in Edgar's hand.

Jerry had found the house that Henry rented after a series of investigations. As Edgar mentioned, Henry had found their tracks, so he didn't go back to his parents' home.
