Love Began with the First Meeting

Chapter 1287 Extra Story 42 Of Edgar Image

Maggie quivered when she heard Edgar's cold voice coming from the earphone. Picking herself up quickly, she said, "I will be there in three minutes, sir!" In order to live up to her words, she reported to Daniel in less than three minutes.

hand, she would not have been able to find Daniel.

Daniel was wearing a ghillie suit to disguise himself. His face was painted with dark ink and the M110 in his hand was also in a ghillie suit. He was almost invisible to the naked eye, as he lay flat on the grass ground. If it were not for the Blue Force sensor in Maggie's Daniel had once been a member of the sniper company, and the reason why he had been selected to join the Falcon Commando later was because of his outstanding marksmanship. It was not until he had come to the Falcon Commando that he had been discovered as a military genius. He was born to be in the battlefield. He performed excellently in terms of marksmanship, and his military capability was impeccable. He was one of the legendary figures of the Eagle Special Brigade, only second to Edgar.

Rumor was that he could disguise himself to such an extent that nobody would be aware of his presence even if they stepped on him. Maggie had no idea how anyone could achieve such a feat. She had to see for herself to know if it was true or just exaggerated stories. "Comrade Major Du," Condor greeted her, grinning. "Can you really improve the effective firing range of the M110?"

Maggie was now lying alongside him and Daniel on the grass ground. She was armed to the teeth too. Although she wasn't sure that she was completely undetectable to the enemy, she had disguised herself quite well as a result of her training with the Falcon Commando. "Yes, but for now, I can't guarantee a perfect result," she said honestly. She was aggressive, but this didn't mean that she was so self-conceited to believe that she could do anything she wanted to do or that nobody in the world could compare with her.

Daniel threw a quick glance at her. Then he withdrew his sight to observe the target ahead of them. He heard on the earphone that the other members of the Falcon Commando were ridiculing one another to pass time. He wasn't too strict with his subordinates when he led the team for missions. He strongly felt that a person wouldn't be able to bring out his full potential unless he is completely relaxed in that situation.

"Nighthawk," Condor said after putting down his high-powered telescope. "I heard that the Red Force changed their tactics recently. Apparently, your wife's competitor had learned the tactics and had brought it back from abroad, and they will probably apply the same military tactics in M Country."

As soon as he heard Condor mention Cathy, the expression in Daniel's eyes changed. The affection seemed to spill out of his eyes. Slowly, he said, "I believe in Cathy. She is confident about her skills, and I believe she is good at what she does."

With a grin, Condor said, "I don't know why, but every time I see that look on your face, I feel like I want somebody to take charge of me too."

"There are many female soldiers in the Eagle Special Brigade now. I suggest you first choose a girl you like and then let her capture you," Daniel said with a laugh. "Maybe you will have a girlfriend by the time the battle comes to an end."

Condor sighed slightly. "But everybody's face is painted in disguise now. I can't see anyone's face properly. What if I choose someone ugly and get stuck with her for the rest of my life? No, thank you." Shaking his head violently like a rattle-drum, he added, "I'd better wait for the group blind date with the communication company at the end of the year."

As she fiddled with the M110, Maggie listened to the conversation between Daniel and Condor. Curiously, she asked, "We're in a battlefield, ready for combat. Is this really the right time to talk about this?"

Condor and Daniel looked at each other and laughed at her question. Grinning, Condor replied, "Comrade Major Du, you don't have to be nervous. It is not yet time for the Falcon Commando to fight. If we enter the stage too early, they wouldn't know how important and powerful we are. Right?

"Maggie was rendered speechless by his false reasoning. She could not help but roll her eyes in amusement. She thought, 'Let's wait and see how important and powerful you are.'

Daniel and Condor carried on with their conversation. Ignoring them, Maggie concentrated on debugging the light sniper rifle. Since the target was three kilometers away from them, they were not afraid of being discovered. Besides, the infantry brigade and the armor brigade were ahead of them. They would engage the enemy first.

Claire was discontented with Edgar because he had agreed to Maggie's request of going to the frontline. She felt that it was only because Edgar liked Maggie that he had gone so far as to disobey his superior in order to fulfil Maggie's wish. She thought he was too self- opinionated.

Pissed off, she glared at Edgar, who was talking to the superior officers in the command center. When she figured that he neither looked at her nor cared if she was angry or not, she was even more furious.

Every day, she had gone to the medical center to meet Edgar and discuss about how the S Army should coordinate this combat. However, what was happening was far beyond her original expectation. As the temporary stand-in for the commander-in-chief, she was unable to persuade Edgar successfully. She couldn't prevent Edgar from agreeing to Maggie's unreasonable demand.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. In a fit of anger, she stood up abruptly and strode out of the tent. After she left, a military officer who had a shoulder mark indicating that he was a Lieutenant Colonel, glanced at Edgar with a wide smile. "Edgar, the fight hasn't been fought yet, but I can smell the smoke of battle in our command center already."

Everybody inside the tent burst into laughter. All the military officers in the command center were married, except Edgar, whose marriage had been a long-standing topic of discussion in the army. Since they all were married, they could smell a relationship between a man and woman, and they could see through Claire very easily. She had been targeting Edgar ever since she was transferred to the S Army. Knowing that, the military officers had been more than willing to assist her. However, Edgar didn't have any special feeling towards her. When Edgar had agreed to let Maggie go to the frontline against the rules, Claire reacted violently to that decision. The officers inside the tent began to wonder about the relationship between the three of them. They wondered if Edgar preferred younger girls. With that thought in his mind, one of them said in a grave tone, "Edgar, having a very young girlfriend could impact your image in the army. You'd better think twice about it."

Edgar replied, "I can't think twice now, because I just received a certificate yesterday."

The man gazed at him in astonishment. He could not believe what he had heard.

The battle was on the verge of breaking out. Although it was just an exercise, both the Red Force and the Blue Force were taking it seriously. They prepared and dealt with the battle as if it was a real battle. It seemed that the struggle was fierce in the front. A while ago it was said that the warcraft formation of the Red Force had been annihilated by the Blue Force. A while later it was said that a platoon of the Blue Force had been captured by the Red Force. It could be said that it was still not time to decide the result of the exercise. Either force had some wins and some losses. 000000☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
