Chapter 1247 Extra Story 2 Of Edgar Affair
"What makes you think that you are getting out anytime soon?" Just as he sneered at her arrogantly the door flew open. Several special policemen swarmed in, fully equipped with assault rifles and infrared spot rifles.
The policemen took the woman away under the orders of a superior officer. The officer put away the pistol in his hand and walked to the man with a smile on his face. "How do you do? Fascinating man, isn't he?" The officer turned to look at the captive in cuffs. The man rolled his eyes. "I am on holiday, and yet I still have to act as your stuntman. I would appreciate it if you didn't speak to me so tartly." A charming smile appeared on the man's face. "Next time, you can give that stunt a try."
"I am as straight as an arrow," the officer of the special police force shrugged. "Only Ghost could figure out such a solution to avoid being captured. That's mind-blowing! I can't believe that he is a transsexual." He sighed and continued, "I am going back to the office. I owe you one. When you are on a vacation next time, I will take you out to dinner and some fun."
The man nodded his head. "All right. Anyway, capturing Ghost, the drug dealer, was part of my agenda as well. So, you are welcome. I'll see you later. I have some other things to take care of. I'm supposed to be on vacation."
"All right then." The officer nodded courteously. "See you."
The man nodded back and saw the officer off. He sat back on the couch and picked up the cigarette on the table, placing it in-between his lips. When he flicked open the lighter to light the cigarette, he suddenly remembered something and put out the fire. The cigarette was found in the possession of Ghost. Who knew what he had put inside it... He was a drug dealer, after all.
The man pulled out some tissue papers from the stand nearby and wrapped it over the cigarette. He then put it in the ashtray and lit it on fire. He needed to be more cautious in these kinds of situations.
He stared intently at the rising flame, and his eyes grew darker. The sight of Maggie's surprised face came to his mind and he chuckled to himself, shaking his head in amusement. He had seen a picture of her at the senior military officer's house. She was more beautiful in person. More than ten years had passed, and the little girl had grown up into an exquisite woman.
Unfortunately, the little girl was going through a rough patch at the moment. Maggie was incredibly happy to know that she was being allocated to join the S Army because then she could see her dream lover, but what she had seen just now was like a thunderbolt out of a clear blue sky.
"What's wrong with Maggie?" the man who had been singing to her with a terrible voice asked the woman next to him.
Maggie had promised herself that she wouldn't drink anymore, but here she was, gulping down one drink after another. The woman shrugged. "She has been like this ever since she came back from the washroom. Maybe she saw a ghost."
The man sat up straight. "Monica! How could you? Who are we? We are soldiers. How can soldiers like us believe in ghosts, huh?"
Monica Sun refrained from laughing. "Benjamin, you can ask Maggie that yourself. Did something happen?"
Benjamin Gu slumped back againsat the couch in low spirits, as the others around him howled. "Let it pass. It's better to take her back to the dorm than get beaten by her while she is drunk."
"I agree." Monica nodded. Maggie was a difficult drunk. She was like a ticking time-bomb. If someone didn't deal with her correctly, she'd blow up in their face, without hesitation. As long as no one bothered her while she was drunk, everything would be cool. However, any person who acted differently would be just asking for trouble. She'd beat you up, but you couldn't fight back because she was drunk as hell. And in the end, you'd wound up injured and she would say innocently the next day, "You should have just dodged." Maggie was what you would call 'the best ungrateful friend'.
By the end of the night, Maggie was completely sloshed and was murmuring in her sleep. Nobody could make of what she was saying. Monica and Benjamin threw her onto her dorm bed, and waited for her to fall asleep.
"Can you hear what she is saying?" Benjamin asked curiously.
Monica tried to listen carefully, but then shook her head. "I can't tell for sure. Something about a 'dream lover'."
Benjamin and Monica were Maggie's best friends, but neither of them knew that she was just an innocent woman with only a tough appearance on the outside. They assumed that Maggie was just happy because she was allocated to the S Army where Mr. Du, the senior military officer, was stationed. The father and daughter could finally live together every day, which was certainly a factor that made her feel happy. However, they didn't know that this was only just a small part of the reason for her happiness. The main reason behind her happiness, was the man of her dreams; the one she thought of day and night; the Captain of the Eagle Special Brigade in the S Army and the youngest Commander-Edgar Gu.
The next morning, soft rays of the sun crept through the dorm window curtain with flower patterns and rested on Maggie's sleeping face. The alarm clock Monica had set for Maggie right before she left, rang again and again. When it seemed as though the alarm clock was at the end of the rope, Maggie finally opened her eyes in a bad mood.
She grabbed the alarm clock from the table. It was already half past six!0000000
