Chapter 1169 Extra Story 59 Of Charlie To Face It
Before Ezra could finish his sentence, he felt a tightly clenched fist smashing into his jaw, dropping him to the floor and replacing his words with moans of pain.
Shaun's hand was stuck in mid-air, trying to block the punch, but he failed. Looking at Ezra wriggling on the floor and clutching his face in pain, Shaun turned to Charlie and pleaded, "Hey! Let's talk it out like civilized men." "This is the price you have to pay for mistreating Evelyn," said Charlie with fury.
Blood pooled in Ezra's mouth as he gagged and spat it out. Gritting his teeth, he wiped the blood from his lips with his hand leaving behind a red smear on his face. Eyes narrowed in determination, for a brief moment he caught his breath before sprang up and delivered a surprise punch to Charlie's stomach.
"Revenge is best served cold!"
Stumbling apart for a moment, they dived back at each other, growling infuriatedly. Shaun helplessly scrambled around to stop them. His concern wasn't about them fighting, but rather about the place where they were fighting in.
"Hello, I don't care if you kill each other, but can you not destroy this place?"
"Bang! Dong!"
Just as the words left Shaun's mouth, Ezra kicked a porcelain vase, causing it to shatter as soon as it touched the ground.
Shaun gazed at the broken items on the floor and felt heart-broken. "I paid over one million for that in a private auction. Who's going to pay for all this?" "Charlie will pay for you!" Ezra shouted. Then he punched at Charlie again.
The two got to know each other properly because of a misunderstanding that resulted in an epic fist-fight. That day they both realized how good they were at fighting. Although it lasted longer than most would believe or anticipate, in the end, neither of them emerged victorious. Strangely, after the fight, they became good friends. Five years later, Ezra became a successful lawyer while Charlie was close to graduating from college. However, because of Evelyn, they had quite a number of quarrels. But this was the first time that they had the fight since the time they fought when first knowing each other.
Before long, Shaun's classy bar looked like it had barely survived a natural disaster. Shaun was so enraged, that he couldn't stop his body from trembling. When he could no longer bear to stand there and witness the onslaught, he put his glass down and said, "I want to see the money in my account by tomorrow. You will have the bills sent to your emails by today." Then, without waiting for their response, he stomped off. Another minute there and he may have joined the fight himself. Fearing that thought, he decided to leave before he gave in to the urge and made things far worse than it already was.
Even after Shaun left, the two of them carried on punching and kicking each other with their last breaths. After about one hour, they finally broke apart, their legs barely holding their bodies up.
"You better get this inside your thick skull: I am not going to apologize to Evelyn," Ezra sneered, kicking down a chair near him. Then he went to the back of the counter and fished out a bottle of wine from the mess, as if he were at his home. "Shaun has been saving this for quite some time. He paid 120, 000 US dollars for this when he got it. You'll pay for it." Then he took out two glasses and poured the wine into them. "If you continue like that, Evelyn is going to stay single forever."
Ezra wasn't threatening Charlie. Speaking of the ability to withstand pressure, not many people could compare with him. The more challenging the situation was, the more courageous he would become. He had to deal with Evelyn and her two brothers who had gone too far to dote on their younger sister. It was almost an impossible task, but he was determined.
Charlie pulled a chair up from the floor and sat on it. Swirling his wine, he coldly said, "How about you?" Taking a sip, he savored the oaky fragrance of the wine. There was a hint of bitterness at first, but when he smelled it more closely, he could taste the sweetness again, which filled his entire mouth. "Ezra, no one shall make her cry!" Charlie shot him a deadly glare.
Ezra was taken aback. He peered at Charlie, who maintained a stern eye contact and realized that he wasn't joking. Cocking his head to the side, Ezra said, "Did you even think about... why I could make her cry?"
"If I didn't think about that... do you think you would still be drinking wine right now?"
Charlie jeered.
Ezra was about to lift the glass of wine to his lips. When he heard Charlie's arrogant response, his hand paused. Putting up a bitter smile and taking a sip of the wine, he said, "Charlie, I have no choice. I want my relationship with Evelyn to be like the one between you and Elsa. But Elsa and Evelyn are different, both in terms of personality and experience." Both of them were taken care of by their respective families. Elsa was born in a middle-class family, while Evelyn was born in the Long Family, one of the most powerful families in the city. Charlie gripped the glass tightly in his hand. Raising his head, he gazed at Ezra for a moment. Finally, he made a decision. "I'll give you three months. I won't intervene in any matter between you and Evelyn. If you can't turn things around in three months, you should give up." "That's more than I could ask for!" Ezra replied firmly.
Confidence was well written on his face. It was the same confident look he had when he was at the court. 0000000
