Love Began with the First Meeting

Chapter 1088 Extra Story 69 Of Sweetness Between Bri And Mol Trap

"Mol is not here. And even if she was, she would not remember you!" Brian's tone was so harsh that it carried no signs of any feeling.

The woman's face became rigid this time, and she said, "Mr. Brian Long, who's Mol?"

Brian lips trembled as he reluctantly squeezed a polite smile. Although it was far from a friendly one, seeing such a smile, drove chills in the woman's heart.

Brian moved his sights away from her, drawing his attention back to the boss of Connection and said, "Mr. Gao, please have a seat."

Although Mr. Gao, an integral part of Connection's management, swaggered around town with a distinctly proprietary air, he looked quite obedient and simple in front of Brian. Pleased by Brian's invitation, he sat down together with his wife, laughing in a forced manner, and said, "Mr. Brian Long, I wonder why you wanted to see me here today?"

Glancing at Mr. Gao, Brian explained in a low and mysterious voice, "Yesterday the police conducted an on-the-spot check on Dark Street." He paused, and his line of sight glided across the woman, "Now, what they found there is none of my business. But, I shouldn't be held responsible if something unwanted and unfavorable appears on the street."

The woman's heart trembled upon hearing Brian's words. Although he wasn't staring at her, she just felt Brian's sharp eyes stabbing at her heart. Her face was unable to carry on a calm facade, even though she still had no idea what Brian was talking about. After hearing what Brian had said, Mr. Gao's dense eyebrows furrowed, and he looked at Brian with a hint of suspicion, "I am sorry, Mr. Long, but what are you trying to say?" Since Brian never got involved in such activities, the Grand Night Casino didn't need extra monitoring or supervision. As a reason, the illegal products was never sold at the Grand Night Casino. Eventually, over time, it became an unwritten law, which both sides made sure to respect.

'But why he was he brining it up today?' Mr. Gao was curious.

"I don't care how you sell these things," Brian's voice slowed down, "It's universally acknowledged that the illegal products must be sold secretly." Appropriate pauses always posed an intangible pressure on the audience.

"Yeah, Mr. Brian Long, you are certainly right. Just as you've said, we have been very discreet," Mr. Gao confessed immediately. Mr. Gao swallowed secretly. Although he wasn't so sure about what Brian intended to say, he had a gut feeling that whatever it was, it was potentially related to Connection, or him.

'But, when did we mess up with him?' Mr. Gao was confused.

"Tell me then, what happened on the Dark Street yesterday?" Brian threw him a straight question, "Your denial is the least thing that I want to hear. Just tell me whether that stuff comes from your place or not."

Brian had mentioned Dark Street just now, and one more time just a while ago. This time a tiny bead of sweat trickled down his forehead as the sound of Brian's voice loomed over his head. Connection engaged in illegal business. But they were cautious and always kept a low profile. Whoever dealt with their product were not allowed to sell the goods on the open market. Otherwise, the goods would no longer be available for them at Connection. Compared to their competitors, Connection's goods were of the highest quality and also at a fair price. And to acquire such a good supply channel, every buyer naturally followed the rules without dispute.

'Who's so daring to obey it?' Mr. Gao was puzzled.

He took a short glimpse at his girlfriend subconsciously, and saw confusion creep up on her face, too. Finding it hard to believe Brian's words, he asked, "Mr. Long, are you sure?"

"Look, my wife and I were invited to the police station for inquiry," Brian answered coldly.

Mr. Gao was utterly shocked, shaking his head in disbelief. His eyes widened and his mouth gaped open as though he had seen a ghost.

After a long pause, he awkwardly continued the conversation, mumbling and stammering like an idiot. "Who could be so ignorant?

Who would dare question Mr. Brian Long?"

"It's every citizen's duty to help the police with an investigation." Brian made his stance clear in a calm voice. After seeing the helpless look on Mr. Gao's face, as if he had swallowed a fly, Brian sneered, "But, that's just half the story. They found soft drugs on my wife which came as a huge shock to me."

Mr. Gao wasn't sure whether Brian was dumbfounded or not, but he certainly was. No one had any doubts as to how influential Brian Long was. Although his reputation as being a part of the Dragon Island family was widespread, his real identity was wrapped up in an enigma. Nevertheless, a person's true identity depended on their own ability rather than their identity.

That was why people wouldn't dare to offend Brian, and at mention of his name, most had revere, appreciation and fear for him in mind.

Now that soft drugs were found on his wife, it could only mean that the problem was in the people who sold it. The most fundamental link in the problem was Connection and Mr. Gao!

Mr. Gao's sudden rise to power as the person in charge of Connection after the death of Black Widow was not coincidental. Despite his insatiable lust for women, he knew it well that his multiple affairs with too many women would bring him nothing but trouble. Despite the illegal methods to earn fast money, he had a keen sense of when to act and when not to act.

"Mrs. Molly Long shouldn't have been involved in that stuff. I guess she was framed by someone. Mr. Brian Long, please be assured, I will bring the culprit to you in less than three days!" Mr. Gao sat up straight and vowed with complete confidence.

'Are you kidding? If Brian was related to drug abuse, it was impossible for him to choose soft drugs, ' Mr. Gao thought in his mind. From his perspective, it was completely humiliating to even consider the thought that Brian's wife was involved in soft drug abuse. "Thanks in advance then, Mr. Gao." Brian expressed his gratitude politely.

"Of course, Mr. Long. You're welcome." Mr. Gao stood up, "Mr. Long, please rest assured, I will be on it right away! Thank you for taking the time to discuss the matter with me today. Good bye!"

While Mr. Gao vowed to find the culprit, his girlfriend's face conveyed an arresting spectrum of ambivalent emotions. Just as she was about to walk out, she stole a secret glimpse at Brian. It would have been fine if she hadn't looked at him, but as soon as they made eye contact, she noticed that Brian was smiling at her. "Mr. Brian Long?" Jason waited until Mr. Gao and his wife left, and then asked, "So we no longer going to meddle in this matter?"

"No." Brian explained slowly, "They can handle it on their own. It's not appropriate for us to intervene all the time. In other words, I don't want to disrupt the current situation."

Jason stood up to leave, but he suddenly said, "It seems as though you know that woman, Mr. Long?"

Brian gave him a similar polite smile again, but this time he looked far more relieved. "She is just one of my acquaintances, and I wouldn't exactly call her a friend. To my surprise, she has a knack for men." He paused and then continued, "Send someone to keep an eye on her. Make sure that she is not allowed to leave A City."

"Okay," Jason answered.

When Brian noticed that Jason had not left yet, he simply leaned against his chair, and remained calm. After a while, he asked, "Is there a problem?"
