between them and the Quill family. With Yuna firmly positioned alongside the

Quills, she became their enemy. Faced with such a significant divide, Jake felt

a mix of irritation and concern regarding his daughter’s infatuation with Yuna.

family’s elderly butler announced, a sinister smirk playing on his lips. To him,

the uninvited presence of the Toma and Fletcher families felt like an

darkness when a path to safety remained open.

“If we’re truly welcome, then why are so many of your people on guard

against us?” Denis, known for his bluntness, replied with a cold retort. They

were well aware of the banquet’s true nature–it was a cunning setup aimed

at Emmanuel.

Having pledged their loyalty to the Quill family, how could they demonstrate

sincerity if they didn’t follow Emmanuel into this gathering? As heads of

prominent families, both men possessed a level of courage and strategic

foresight necessary for high–stakes situations. This was a gamble, a wager

on their fates. Regardless of the outcome, they had to stand alongside

glares directed at Emmanuel. Amidst the tension, Yuna approached him with

a radiant smile. “I wonder what you think of my performance.”

“It was alright,” Emmanuel replied matter–of–factly.

Such a lukewarm evaluation naturally incited the ire of most in the audience.

They revered Yuna as if she were a goddess, practically worshipping at her

feet and dreaming of kissing the very ground she walked upon. Yet here

Yuna blinked in slight surprise but quickly composed herself, chuckling as she

responded, “Thank you for your kind words, Mr. Lowe. However, I wonder if you

have any specific suggestions on how I might improve my performance.”

Many in the audience exchanged bewildered glances. Why did Yuna value

Emmanuel so highly? Wasn’t he just a live–in son–in–law from Nuthana?

Gwain and his companions sneered, convinced that Yuna was quite the

manipulator. She clearly knew how to exploit men’s emotions and jealousy,

and the more attention she lavished on Emmanuel, the worse his fate would

“Well, since you’re asking, I do have one suggestion,” Emmanuel replied, not

bothering to hold back. After all, everyone knew the true purpose of today’s

gathering. Yuna aimed to help the Quill family eliminate him, but he intended

to turn the tables, bringing her down along with the family and rescuing his

sister at the earliest opportunity.

hand, inviting him to continue.

Both Raina and Sonia were astonished. Could this man be so familiar with Ms.

Yuna? After all, her two aunts were world–renowned Maestros.

Emmanuel merely produced a bullet, holding it in his palm with a cold smile.

“Next time I watch you dance, could you try not to snipe at me? It really kills

the mood.”

“What?!” The moment those words left his lips, chaos erupted in the room.

Some exchanged puzzled glances, while others stared intently at the bullet in

Emmanuel’s hand. Yuna feigned surprise, her voice trembling as she asked,

“Mr. Lowe, what are you talking about? How could that have anything to do

with me?”

A group of men immediately began hurling insults at Emmanuel. “You’re a

liar! How dare you accuse her?”

“Someone really tried to snipe you? And you’re still alive? Ridiculous!”

Yuna in this manner and bullying her? I will be the first to object!”

The threats directed toward Emmanuel began to swell, casting a tense
