Chapter 88
Chapter 88
Was this his room?
Ever since Andrew gained a share of the control over the company, he moved into his place at Oakread and barely ever spent the night at the Wentworth residence.
Although he still had a room here, it was basically like a guest room devoid of any of his personal belongings.
Nevertheless, he was startled when he saw the feminine decor of the room. He looked at Melina and cocked an eyebrow. “Did you get Grandpa to do this?”
Before Melina could speak, Wallace arrived in time to chime in, “I took it upon myself to do up the room for you two. If you’re dissatisfied with it, you can get another room for yourself.”
Wallace was also displeased with Andrew. While he did force Andrew to accept
Melina, he didn’t think Andrew should bully such a lovely young woman, even if he
didn’t like her.
Had Wallace said this to Andrew in the past, Andrew would’ve walked out of the house right away. After all, he never wanted to come back to the Wentworth residence in the first place.
But this time, Andrew simply replied, “I’m extremely satisfied with it.”
Once he finished speaking, he dragged Melina into the room. Wallace tried to tag along, but Andrew had shut the door and locked it for good measure.
Wallace stood at the door with his brows raised in disbelief. What did he just hear? Did Andrew just say he was extremely satisfied with the room? He even saw Andrew grabbing Melina’s hand!
Was Andrew in a particularly good mood today?
Out of curiosity, Wallace pressed his ear against the door to eavesdrop on the conversation inside the room. Alas, the soundproofing was too good, and he couldn’t
hear a peep.
Glowering, Wallace grumbled, “I’ll get the door changed tomorrow.”
But after saying that, he couldn’t resist chuckling. Although he told Melina that it was fine if the marriage couldn’t last, deep down inside, he still wished that the two of them could get along well. From the looks of it now, there was still hope for that.
Inside the room, Andrew sat on the creamy yellow couch that felt completely at odds.

with his domineering demeanor.
Frowning, Melina asked, “Why did you ask me to come up with you? If you intend to bring up the past again, I won’t play nice with you either.”
If he did go overboard again, she wasn’t opposed to beating him up once more.
“Melina,” Andrew said abruptly.
Melina stiffened. She always got a bit nervous whenever he said her name like that. Taking a couple of steps backward, she questioned somewhat warily, “What do you want to say this time?”
Daphne Atkinson, one of the villagers she knew, once told her that men’s words. couldn’t be trusted. She now thought Daphne was right. It was impossible to trust the words that came out of a man’s mouth.
Melina was afraid that Andrew would start saying things that made it seem like they were very close again. Those things sounded fake to her, so she didn’t want to listen to them.
However, Andrew simply looked into her eyes and said, “I think my wound is
inflamed. Deal with it for me.”
Melina’s expression changed at once. “Why would it be inflamed? Didn’t Toby tend to it last night?”
She’d asked Toby to check on Andrew yesterday. He would’ve told her if Andrew’s wound got infected.
Andrew turned around and took his shirt off. Melina saw his soiled–looking bandage that was stained with blood. It was a somewhat gory sight.
She exclaimed, “D–Didn’t you get the bandage changed after falling into the water yesterday? Didn’t Toby redress the wound for you?”
“Nope,” Andrew replied without missing a beat.
Toby had come over yesterday, but he didn’t change the dressing, so it wasn’t a lie.

Feeling vessed, Molina decided that from nowy on, if she wanted something done, she had te de it herself instead of rely
The innocent Toby, of course, had no idea that his reputation had been damaged thanks to Andrew’s
Melina immediately started heading for the door. “Fll get the doctor.”
“Nope. You need to bandage it for me. If you get someone else to do it, I’ll just let the wound fester, Andrew deciated.
“Andrew! Why are you messing around with your own body?”
Sull standing with his back to Molina, ho replied, “I’m not messing around.”
Melina didn’t doubt Andrew’s declaration, the knew he was a reckless man, Gritting her teeth, she said, “I’ll go and get a medical”
“If the roont’s layout is still the same, there should be an emergency medical kit in the second last drawer of the cabinet, Andrew gold.
Melma checked the cabinet, and true enough, she found it. Retrieving it, she went behind Andrew and started undoing his bandage with a grim expression.
Blood had soaked into the gauze, and once the blood dried, it made the gauze stick to the wound. Melina dared not peel the gaze off by force, so she moistened it with some disinfectant before slowly peeling it off.
She checked the wounds on his back. Some were swollen and started forming pus after being covered by the soiled bandage.
Melina gasped when she saw the severity of Andrew’s condition. She shot to her feet and insisted, “I have to get the doctor. Your wounds are inflamed, Andrew. You need to let a doctor check on you.”
“I forbid you.”
“B But I don’t know what to do.”
“Just treat it like a normal wound. I’ll go to the hospital myself later on.”
With how foul of a temper Andrew had, Meline couldn’t do anything about his stubbornness Recalling that he’d gotten injured while rescuing her, the sternness in or expression was replaced by exasperation. She couldn’t just do nothing about it,
after taking a deep breath, she tried to regall how Toby had dressed Andrew’s
wound. Slowly, she disinfected all of the open wounds and carefully rebandaged the area with new gauze.
Due to her nervousness, her fingers were slightly clammy as they gently made contact with Andrew’s back. To him, her touch felt like tiny snowflakes on a hot summer’s day, cooling the ball of fiery ferocity inside of him.
In reality, by letting his guard down and allowing her to treat his injuries, he was proving that he trusted her. After all, he’d been polsoned through his open wounds before.
Nevertheless, Melina didn’t know about this. She merely thought he was being too stubborn and reckless.
Once she bandaged his back, he got up and put his shirt back on before turning around to face her. The proximity made her step backward, but that displeased him. ” Come here.”
However, Melina hurried off while saying, “I have stuff I need to do, Andrew. Remember to head to the hospital later today.”
“Melina!”
Melina fled the room as if she didn’t hear Andrew calling her name. Perhaps he came. over to say something to her, but she didn’t want to hear it.
She only wanted to treat him like her savior. She was willing to care about his health. and his injuries, but she didn’t want to have any confusing feelings involved.
In any case, she did have a tutoring session to go to.
To avoid Andrew, Melina left the Wentworth residence without even having lunch first. Her student lived within walking distance just a few hundred feet away. It was only when she arrived that she remembered she hadn’t had lunch yet.
Had she arrived too early?
The tutoring session with Dante was supposed to start in the afternoon, but there wasn’t a fixed time. She figured that since it was past 1:00 pm, it counted as the afternoon already.
