Chapter 10
Chapter 10 His Wife Is Not Simple!
He looked at Eleanor in disbelief and asked. “Are you sure it was her who did it?” “Yes, there is surveillance here. Take a look.” With patience, Wesley watched. The video showed that Eleanor was fast and fierce. Within two minutes, all six men were taken down! Wesley looked at Eleanor again… He couldn’t help but feel shocked. Eleanor was young and slim, with a small face that wasn’t even as big as Wesley’s palm. She looked so innocent as if she were no more than sixteen or seventeen years old. How could she have such great skills? If it were Alpha, he wouldn’t be able to defeat the opponents so quickly! Eleanor wasn’t simple! The investigating officer was a man who didn’t know Wesley. He looked at Wesley with some sympathy and whispered. “Sir, be careful and don’t provoke her at home. Nowadays, there are many cases of men being abused by their wives.” Wesley was speechless. The police officer continued. “She said these six men wanted to harm her, but there is no footage of what happened to her. So, for now, we can’t prove if she intentionally attacked them or acted in self-defense.” Wesley diverted his gaze and said, “Let me talk to her alone.” The officer wanted to refuse, but he couldn’t withstand the powerful aura emanating from Wesley. In the end, he agreed. As soon as the officer left, Wesley immediately asked. “Where did you learn these martial arts skills?” Eleanor replied with a confrontational tone, “It’s none of your business.” Wesley said, “You are right. I’ll leave, and you have to figure out how to leave the police station on your own.” Wesley made a gesture to leave, but Eleanor quickly stopped him. If she could leave on her own, she wouldn’t have called Wesley. Annoyed, Eleanor said, “My grandfather taught me.” Wesley doubted it. “Your grandfather knows martial arts too?” When investigating Eleanor, Wesley briefly checked her grandfather. The information mentioned his proficiency in medical skills but said nothing about martial arts. Eleanor was probably lying. Eleanor retorted, “Is there a problem with it? Don’t look down on my grandpa.” Wesley narrowed his long eyes and stared at Eleanor for a while, no longer pressing for answers. It had nothing to do with Wesley whom Eleanor learned martial from. She wasn’t his concern, so why bother being curious about her? It was a waste of breath. Wesley came to the point. “The police said there is no evidence to prove that you acted in self-defense. The men in the hospital are adamant that they didn’t intend to harm you. If I don’t protect you, you may end up in jail.” Eleanor refuted, “They provoked me first!” “Do you have any evidence?” Wesley’s tricky question got Eleanor stuck. She had no evidence. Eleanor could tell that Wesley had something else to say. She frowned unhappily and asked. “What do you want?” Wesley said, “I can protect you. From tonight, you sleep on the couch, and I’ll sleep in the bed.” Eleanor exploded with rage. “Are you taking advantage of me in a helpless situation?” Wesley looked at her kindly and said, “Yes!” His expression irritated Eleanor. She gritted her teeth and said, “Are you even a man? Why are you so ungentlemanly?” Wesley raised an eyebrow and glanced at her, refusing to respond. When Wesley’s grandfather wanted him to marry Eleanor, he disagreed. But his grandfather threatened to kill himself, so Wesley had no choice but to compromise and marry Eleanor for two years. Wesley thought they could treat each other with respect for these two years, but instead, Eleanor provoked him every day! Wesley wasn’t a pushover. Since Eleanor provoked him, how could he indulge her? “Yes or no?” Wesley pressed. Eleanor was furious. But at the moment, apart from compromising, it seemed there was no better solution! Eleanor said, “Let’s make a compromise. We take turns to sleep on the bed. If you disagree, I’ll call my grandfather.” Wesley was speechless. Taking turns to sleep on the bed was better than him always sleeping on the couch. So, Wesley nodded in agreement.
