Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Feeling aggrieved at home, Brittany immediately arranged to meet with Belen, the only person who would join her in opposing Eileen.

At the café…

Belen showed up dressed modestly as usual and sat across from Brittany.

“Where did you go on a trip?” Brittany asked curiously.

“Uh… just a short local trip, to relax my mind.” Belen hastily lied, careful not to let Brittany know about her recent luxurious lifestyle.

“Are

you not running your store anymore?”

“It’s closed. There’s no business, so I decided to take a break.” But Belen’s eyes betrayed

no worry.

Still fuming, Brittany started complaining. “You know, Eileen almost drove me and my mom mad today. She not only came back but also brought a child with her.”

Hearing that, Belen almost choked on her drink, gripping Brittany’s hand in shock. “What did you say? She has a child?”

Brittany, startled by her reaction, reassured her. “It’s just a illegitimate child. You’re afraid that she brought a man back to deal with us, right? Relax!”

“What does the child look like? How old is he?” Belen was unusually sensitive, now vigilant about everything related to Eileen.

“That child couldn’t be Winston’s, could he?’ she thought.

“He’s about three and a half, according to my dad. Eileen had him abroad with. someone,” Brittany said bitterly.

Belen was relieved to hear that. The child’s age didn’t match the timeline with her and

Winston.

She thought, ‘It was just one night with Winston. She couldn’t have gotten pregnant that casily.’

“How’s she doing now? Where does she work?” Belen couldn’t resist probing Brittany for more information.

“She’s a jewelry designer at Treasure Studio, but just a minor one. What can she amount to?” Brittany said with scorn.

Belen’s eyes mirrored the same scorn as she replied, “She had a talent for drawing, but without a college degree, what kind of designer could she be?”

*Exactly. She’s just half-baked, fooling my dad. And that little brat, flattering my dad at such a young age. Disgusting,” Brittany spat, her demeanor reflecting her mother’s shrewish traits.

Belen’s thoughts ran deep, and she quickly advised her. “Brittany, if you dislike her so much, just kick her out again! That way, she won’t bother you.”

“Yeah! That’s exactly what I intend to do. The moment I find an opportunity, I’ll make sure she’s gone,” Brittany said, clenching her fists determinedly.

That suited Belen just fine. She preferred it if Eileen never reappeared, ensuring her undisturbed enjoyment of everything that should rightfully be hers.

And to make Winston irrevocably responsible for her.

“Belen, what brand of n*ecklace is that you’re wearing? It looks gorgeous!” Brittany suddenly noticed the n*ecklace on her friend.

Belen covered it with her hand, smiling. “I bought a replica from a second-hand market.”

Brittany, aware of Belen’s financial constraints and her modest family background, assumed she couldn’t afford the real deal.

Little did she know that the n*ecklace around Belen’s n*eck was a genuine piece from QR, worth 400 thousand dollars, nor did she know who designed it.

As Brittany continued to complain, Belen kept checking the time. She had scheduled an afternoon beauty treatment. To win Winston’s heart, she was committed to becoming more beautiful, even considering plastic surgery.

She knew that she was plain; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been just a background figure. to Eileen all these years.

Three days later, at 5 in the morning….

Belen suddenly woke up from a nightmare. In her dream, Eileen came for her, and Winston recognized her immediately. Belen was mercilessly driven out of her villa, helplessly watching Eileen take over her life.

“No… Don’t!” Belen sat up in bed, drenched in sweat. When she realized it was just a nightmare, she calmed down slightly.

But the dream felt so real that it left her trembling. Once someone has had a taste of luxury, it’s hard to go back. She knew she couldn’t return to her old life after

experiencing everything Winston had given her.

She was ensnared by the allure of wealth. She didn’t want to lose it, and she absolutely couldn’t afford to.

“Eileen, why won’t you just dic… Why don’t you just go die…” Belen violently threw her pillow to the ground, as though it was Eileen herself.

Eileen’s existence was the greatest threat to her.

Suddenly, she narrowed her eyes. She had to meet with Eileen. She needed to know if Eileen was aware of that incident from years ago, and whether she knew that the man from that night was Winston.

If Eileen did know, then she had to take action. After all, it was only because of that watch that Winston had identified her. It was clear that he didn’t remember who the woman from that night was.

But what if Eileen recognized Winston? After all, she was unaware of the details that had transpired that night. What if they had exchanged words that would allow them to recognize each other?

Belen felt panic seeping through her every pore. Unable to sleep, she decided to dress up and visit Eileen at Treasure Studio today to probe her.

After dropping Sean off at school, Eileen hurried towards the office.

The morning was filled with meetings about the upcoming product launch, and Isabela. demanded at least 10 design drafts from each person by the end of the month.

While leaving the meeting room, Dalia deliberately bumped into Eileen. “I heard Mr. Nielsen raised the prize money to 200 thousand. Eileen, I won’t lose.”

Eileen was startled. What was Winston thinking, offering a prize of 200 thousand?

She had a hunch about his intentions. Now that he controlled the company, he could easily influence any contest.

Was he planning to directly hand her the 200-thousand-dollar prize? That wouldn’t be fair or just.

She absolutely didn’t want to win through backdoor deals orchestrated by him.

With mixed feelings, she returned to her office. Jenna brought her a cup of coffee and mentioned, “Eileen, you have a visitor.”

“Who is it?”

“She’s in the lounge. I’ll bring her in,” Jenna replied.

“Alright.” Eileen waited, curious about the unexpected visitor.

Soon, there was a knock on the door and then it was opened. Jenna stepped aside, revealing a figure Eileen recognized despite five years apart. The hatred in Eileen’s eyes surged instantly.

After Jenna closed the door and left, Eileen coldly said, “You have some nerve coming to see me!”

Belen smirked. “Brittany told me you were working here. I happened to be nearby, so I thought I’d come and see you.”

“Just seeing you makes me sick,” Eileen said through gritted teeth, barely restraining her urge to slap Belen.

“Sick? Why? Weren’t you satisfied with the male prostitute that night? I specifically picked a handsome one for you.” Belen taunted her with a cold smile. “You don’t still. remember what he looked like, do you?”

“Shut up.” Eileen trembled with anger.

Belen continued to probe. “If that man stood in front of you again, would you. recognize him?”
