Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 970: Mia is Claudia

The midday sunlight streamed through, scattering across the uncollected red rose petals on the floor. Tina walked slowly, savoring a rare moment of quiet beauty.

After finishing a meal that was neither breakfast nor lunch, Tina's phone-silent all morning-finally

rang.

Jayden's voice was brief and to the point. "Young Master, the Swanson family is making a move." Tina responded calmly, "Keep an eye on them."

Jared, having cleared the table, removed his apron. "Are we going to the Swanson family?"

Tina's gaze darkened slightly. "No, we'll head back to the Pace family first."

When the two arrived at the Pace estate, the grand hall was empty, save for Warren.

Seeing them, Warren's face lit up with a smile. "Tina, you're back. Jared, have a seat."

Both Tina and Jared spoke in unison, "Grandfather!"

Warren nodded warmly. "Your parents went out earlier. They said they're scouting new wedding venues for you two."

Tina cut straight to the point. "Grandfather, I'm not here to see them today."

Warren's expression shifted slightly, as if he'd anticipated something. He nodded slowly. "Tina, I don't mean to offend, but regarding what you told me earlier, I looked into it. However, the evidence alone isn't enough to prove she is..."

Tina understood Warren's dilemma. In his youth, he'd been decisive and unwavering, but age had deepened his attachment to family.

Her response was succinct: "Grandfather, whether she is or isn't, it doesn't absolve her of suspicion."

Warren, who had devoted most of his life to the nation, needed no further explanation.

He swallowed the words on the tip of his tongue, sinking into thought before speaking again. "Last time, you gave Uncle Boris a chance for my sake, which already put you in a difficult position. This time, I won't let personal feelings shield someone the nation deems unacceptable." Tina waited silently.

Warren had once led the X Bureau. His perspective on such matters was far clearer than hers. She only needed to wait-for him to cut ties and speak the words himself.

After a moment of silence, Warren stood, his tone resolute. "I've locked her up. Come with me."

In a secluded wing of the Pace estate, Tina approached, her nose assaulted by a heavy stench of blood. Her face paled as she quickly pushed open the door.

Inside, there was no sign of Mia.

Instead, a young servant lay sprawled on the floor, blood still seeping from their chest, staining the ground beneath them.

Jared stepped forward, turning the body over. His expression darkened. The servant's chest was hollow, their heart gruesomely removed while still alive.

"What happened here?"

Warren glanced at the scene, his face growing grim.

He had initially doubted that his sister could be the target of a special government investigation. But now, he had no choice but to believe.

This inhumane act was nothing short of monstrous.

Tina turned to Warren, her voice cold and steady. "Mia is Claudia."

The fact that Claudia possessed supernatural abilities was a secret known only to her and Uncle. Warren, it seemed, had been deceived by Mia's performance.

Someone like Claudia couldn't be restrained by mere ropes.

Warren studied the bloodstains on the ground, his expression severe. "Tina, we must capture her.

If she truly isn't Mia, then the real Mia must already be dead at her hands."

This was a vengeance he could not leave unavenged.

Tina nodded.

Jared touched the blood on the floor, frowning. "She didn't have much time. She can't have gone far. I'll chase her down!"

He was one of the few people capable of taking on Claudia. Opportunities to capture her alive

were rare.

Tina grabbed his arm. "Uncle, do you remember what Claudia said yesterday?"

Jared paused, his gaze darkening. "You mean this is her trap?"

Tina's eyes hardened. "Before coming to the Pace estate, I couldn't figure out what she wanted from me. But now I'm certain-she's been planning this for a long time. She's after me." Jared's heart sank.

Tina's voice was cold. "What she wants... is my heart."

Why Claudia was so determined to take her heart before killing Uncle was a mystery Tina had yet to solve.

Hearing this, Warren's cane struck the floor with a resounding thud. His voice trembled with rage. "She dares!"

"If she lays a hand on you, I'll risk my life to see her destroyed!"

"Grandfather."

Tina rose, steadying him. "Don't worry. Her fate will be sealed in my lab. She won't harm me." Warren, burdened with guilt, sighed deeply. "Tina, I wronged you. Do whatever you must. I won't interfere. Someone like her must not remain in this world to wreak havoc."

Tina helped him back to the main hall, instructing others to clean up the scene.

Then, bidding Warren farewell, she left with Jared for the Swanson family estate.

The Swanson family was in disarray. Externally, their company had been driven to bankruptcy by Cole Lyon. Internally, infighting over the inheritance left everyone on edge.

When Tina and Jared arrived, they were momentarily taken aback by the desolation of the estate. Once a series of grand, vintage-style buildings, the place now seemed eerie under the gloomy

sky.

In the main hall, Kevin emerged, dressed entirely in white.

He greeted them softly. "Miss Reed, you've finally arrived. Please, come in."

Tina regarded the pale-faced man before her, her gaze flickering slightly. "Where is Poppy?" Kevin's sickly features twitched faintly. "Miss Reed, don't worry. Poppy is safe. He won't be harmed."

Tina's expression remained cold. "What have you done?"

Kevin avoided the question, simply gesturing with his hand. "Please, follow me."

Walking ahead, Kevin led them deeper into the estate. Tina and Jared exchanged a glance before deciding to follow.

Whatever secrets Kevin was hiding, even Jayden hadn't been able to uncover them.

In the depths of the estate stood a concealed door.

Kevin stopped in front of it, turning to face them. "Miss Reed, the person you're looking for is inside."

Tina didn't move forward. Instead, she fixed Kevin with a sharp gaze. "How did you manage to restrain someone with supernatural abilities? Or do you not know Mark's true identity?" Kevin's eyes flickered. "I know everything."

He pointed to the hidden door, his crimson lips forming each word with deliberate precision. "He used this to save my mother from a car accident. She's been hidden here for seven months." "Then he killed her, feigning ignorance and bringing Poppy back from outside."

"To this day, my mother's remains are still inside."

At the mention of her remains, Kevin's gaze turned dark and menacing.

For years, he had waited for this moment-to finally take revenge for himself and his mother.

This revelation surprised Tina. "You and Poppy... you're brothers?" "That's right."

Kevin's tone was firm. "In the Swanson family, he's my only family. That's why I begged you to save him."
