Losing to My Substitute (Katerina and Joshu)

Chapter Substitute 7

Chapter 7

Mr. Green asked repeatedly. "Kate, are you really married? Don't lie to us.

Each time, Katerina nodded firmly.

"Yes, I really am married!"

After a long silence, Mr. and Mrs. Green let out deep sighs.

"Our three sons are not fortunate enough to deserve you. We're sorry."

With those words, they accepted the family heirloom but refused to take the bank card.

"Kate, listen to us. Keep this money with you. You might need it if anything happens."

She pushed the bank card toward them again, smiling reassuringly. "Uncle Green, Aunt Green, I

won't feel at ease if you don't take this money."

"My parents left me plenty of inheritance that I haven't touched. Besides, I've lived with the Green family for so many years and have long considered you my parents. I'll need my maiden family for my wedding too!" Mr. and Mrs. Green could only helplessly accept.

During her two days in the hospital, none of the three brothers came to visit Katerina even once.

Mr. and Mrs. Green couldn't stand it. When they learned from the household staff that the brothers had been busy comforting Bethany, they became even more angry.

"Kate, wait here at the hospital. We'll go get those terrible boys to come take care of you. You're their

sister after all - how can they not even come see you?"

"Uncle Green, Aunt Green, there's no need. Having you here with me is enough."

She quickly stopped them, and seeing that she truly meant it, they could only let it be.

When she was discharged and heading home, Katerina received a call from Joshua.

"I designed a wedding dress and had it delivered to your home."

His usually cool voice had melted like ice and snow, revealing an endless tenderness.

Hearing this, she was somewhat surprised and blurted out, "You can design wedding dresses too?"

The man on the other end of the phone chuckled softly. "I know a little. I just wanted to give my wife the very best, made with all my heart."

Without realizing it, Katerina's ears had turned completely red. She mumbled a few "hmm"s, not even registering what he said afterward. Her mind went blank, though a warmth flickered in her heart.

When she arrived home and opened the door, she was greeted by the sight of a brilliant white wedding dress. The massive floor-length skirt was adorned with countless tiny diamonds, as if starlight had fallen upon it. The only flaw was that this wedding dress was currently being worn by Bethany, who had a delicate

and pretty appearance.

Bethany lifted the skirt, twirling around before asking coquettishly:

"Ethan. Tony, Andrew, how do I look? Does this wedding dress suit me?"

"Beautiful, like a fairy descended from heaven."

"Even prettier than many celebrities I've worked with."

"Beth, if you get married, you'll definitely be the most beautiful bride in the world."

The three brothers took turns praising her, making Bethany's smile impossible to contain. She even appeared somewhat embarrassed by their compliments.

Watching this scene, Katerina felt rage building up inside her, burning through her entire body.

She strode quickly toward Bethany and said harshly, "Bethany, this is MY wedding dress. Who gave you permission to sign for it and try it on?

Don't you know that taking things without asking is stealing? Take off the wedding dress immediately!"

Bethany flinched, her eyes welling up with tears.

"I didn't know it was yours. I just thought it was pretty and wanted to try it on. I'm sorry, Young Miss, I didn't mean to."

As she spoke, she made no move to take it off, and even lovingly stroked the skirt.

If you know you're wrong, hurry up and take it off"

Katerina barely contained her anger, her fists unconsciously clenching.
