Chapter 28
Chapter 28
Henry heaved a sigh and said, "All right. I got to do this for the Jefferson family."
Henry then got the phone and called the number that he hadn't called for years.
The call got through and a dignified voice sounded, "Henry, it's been years. You finally called me." Henry groaned and answered, "Cut the crap. I need your help.”
Ricard smiled lightly, "Who would expect that you would call me one day? Didn't you swear that you would never ask for my help ever again?"
Henry was humiliated by Ricard's sarcasm.
"Ricard, please ..." Henry let out a sigh and closed his eyes.
His figure stooped as he begged for help.
It seemed like he was ten years older all of a sudden.
Ricard chortled, "All right. Just say it. What do you want?"
Henry drew a deep breath and looked indifferent, "A guy called Chris just ruined my family on the East Coast. I want him dead!"
Henry then recounted what happened last night.
At the same time, Ricard was sitting in the living room of his house in Pinkerton.
Ricard was about eighty years old, but he was still quite fit.
"Dad, who called you?" Gary, the oldest son of Ricard and the heir to the family asked.
"It's your uncle Henry," Ricard answered lightly.
He felt light inside.
Back in the old days, he fought with Henry for the Jefferson family.
Henry then got defeated and left the Jefferson family in dismay.
Several decades later, Henry still got to eat the humble pie and beg for help.
"Uncle Henry?" Gary frowned, "Didn't he leave our family?"
Ricard smiled, "Yeah, it's quite funny. Henry was swindled by a loser who married into his family. They have lost everything now."
Gary scorned and taunted, "How stupid is Uncle Henry? Dad, are you going to help him out?" Ricard nodded, "Yeah, this is a great opportunity to tap into the market of the East Coast.” "But..."
Gary bit his tongue.
"The East Coast is about to launch their industrial park project. It's worth millions of dollars. If we can get this project, our family in Pinkerton will be more influential. We might be able to become one of the first-class families.”
Gary was stimulated by Ricard's words and got excited.
Ricard had worked his butt off for his whole life and only got to get the Jefferson family among the second-class families in Pinkerton.
If he could get this project, the Jefferson family would have a much bigger presence in Pinkerton. "Grandpa, let me do it! I want to do something for this family."
Roger, Gary's son, suddenly stood up and proposed.
"Wonderful! You are indeed one of the Jeffersons! I'm glad that you are offering to do this. All right. I will send you off to test the waters on the East Coast and show my brother that my lineage is much better than his."
Roger immediately got thrilled, "Thank you, grandpa.”
He was long sick of Pinkerton and just wanted to have fun on the East Coast.
On the second day, the news that the most premium mansion on the East Coast, Cloud Bay, was about to be auctioned caught people's attention.
All the people in the city were talking about this big news.
"Chris, did you hear it? Cloud Bay is about to be auctioned.”
Esther scrolled through her phone and anticipated, "It would be amazing if I get to live in Cloud Bay. It's said that the mansion is shrouded in the cloud all year long.”
"If you like it, I will give it to you as a present.” Chris smiled.
Esther rolled her eyes at Chris, "Stop joking about it. It is the most premium mansion on the East Coast. We wouldn't be able to afford it."
"Just wait for my good news."
