Little bites, alpha(to be taken down for editing)

Chapter Chapter three

I groaned, rolled on the bed for a minute before sitting up wishing I was already asleep before Taryn called, that way I couldn't hear her nor respond.

It was another minute before I rose from the bed and left the room to the empty hallway in search of her. I finally found her at the end of the third corridor that overlooked the pack outside.

Taryn wore a black long sleeve turtle neck with a gothic skirt and high boots that added to her height. Her black hair was cut short to her chin and dark eyes glared hatefully at me.

"Alpha Lucian just came in and I want you to serve him." She orders and I refrain from rolling my eyes at her. Was that why she had called me? There were other slaves in the kitchen!

"I mean now!" She screamed at me when I didn't move, I flinched, bowing down before leaving the hallway to the kitchen, suddenly wishing I could feel more of the setting sun on my skin.

I quickly made rice with roasted chicken. It was rare we ate meat and my mouth watered at the sight of the food. I was done before Taryn came in and she smirked at me, dipping her index finger in the sauce and nodding in approval at the taste.

"Where do I place it?" I ask, serving the meal on our best plates and tray.

"Dining table." She replies and walks away. I carry the tray of food and follow her.

As I walked in, the fresh scent of pine and wood hit my nostrils, sending a sweet sensation inside of me, but I remained cool. It was considered rude to sniff the scent of someone who I figured was higher in rank than me.

Getting to the dining room, a strong aura filled the room, sending my senses to submission mode. I found Alpha Lucian sitting at the head of the table in a deep conversation with Kade.

He had long blonde hair that fell past his green eyes that found me the moment I walked in. I heard Taryn stop and I walked to them, a strange feeling overwhelmed me, and I bowed submissively, gently placing the tray on their table.

As I stood closer to Alpha Lucian I could perceive his scent of pine and wood that had been freshly beaten by rain. There was something earthly about the way he scented and I wanted to bury my nose within him.

But I drew my hand carefully, keeping my head bowed when a strong hand suddenly grabbed my wrist. I gasped, my heart thumping loudly in my chest when I looked up to see Alpha Lucian holding unto me, his green eyes fixed on mine.

There was an odd tingling sensation passing through me, his eyes stared intently at me as if seeing the depth of my soul, I noticed how handsome he was, sharp jaw and high cheekbones, his lips parted as if in surprise of me.

My cheeks flushed red in more embarrassment and I wriggled my wrist in his hand but he didn't bulge, instead he seemed to have snapped out of whatever trance he was in at my sudden movements.

"Want to have a taste?" Kade asks and my face twisted into disgust as I glared at him.

"No." Lucian said sharply, his eyes not leaving me and a part of me felt devastated that he might have thought I was ugly.

"Is there anything I can do for you?" I asked quietly, bowing my head respectfully.

He was quiet for a few seconds before responding.

"You really are oblivious hmm?"

I looked up at him frowning when I felt my wolf's excitement inside of me. I tried to remain calm, but inside of me felt giddy and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.

Her next words stopped my words from leaving my mouth, freezing me in place.

"Mate. Mate." She yelled happily within me.

I saw Alpha Lucian smile at me at my sudden realisation and snatched my hand away from him and did what every teenage girl did when she felt hurt. I ran.

I ran faster than I ever did. My heart thumping loudly, threatening to jump out any moment, tears filled my eyes. No. No. I couldn't have found my mate! Alpha Lucian wasn't my mate!

I was almost tempted to change to my wolf form but I felt too angry, sad, surprised to do so. Mixture of emotions slammed into me at once and I put more strength into my feet and only stopped running when I reached the border.

I found a tree, slumping beside it and burst into tears.

I had just met my mate!

And he was an Alpha!

I sobbed harder into my palm, my heart clenching in pain at the thought of having an Alpha as a mate.

While I couldn't deny that I secretly wished to have a mate who would buy me out of slavery, love me and protect me. I had hoped it would be a normal wolf, or maybe a warrior.

But instead I had gotten an Alpha, they were ruthless to other packs who stood against them, mean and rude to slaves, and desired out right submission and respect from weak slaves like me. And the last thing I wanted was to spend the rest of my life submitting to my mate who I was supposed to love and love me in return.

I spent the next twenty minutes sobbing before a thought rushed through me. I left an Alpha's presence without permission!

Dread filled me and I rose to my feet immediately, wiping my eyes quickly. Leaving without permission was rude and I had no doubt I would be punished for breaking the rules seeing as it was considered as trying to escape.

Usually, there was a ten minutes time grace for the slave to return and apologize, but after that and they didn't return, they were tracked down with their scents and dragged back to the pack.

The sound of someone stepping on twigs snapped me back to reality and I looked to my right to see a black wolf emerge from the woods. It's dark green eyes fixed me on me, and a terrifying roar escaped his lips.

I shuddered in fear at the sight of Alpha Lucian's wolf form in front of me, it was terrifying and I stepped back, a deadly aura filling the woods.

That was when I did another foolish thing. I ran again, this time in the direction of the pack. I heard him follow behind me and hit me from the back so I collapsed on the floor, narrowly missing my head against a stone. I crawled away, hissing in pain and lying against my back.

The sound of loud pants filled my ears as I felt his presence draw closer to me. I shut my eyes in preparation for the worse.

"Why did you run?" I heard him ask and I opened my eyes to see that the Alpha had transformed to his human form as he stared down at me, his face twisted in disgust and his green eyes held anger.

"I panicked. I didn't mean to." I answered honestly, avoiding those eyes that stared intently at me.

"You shouldn't have. Now my wolf is angry." He growls. I swallow hard.

"I am sorry. I have work to do and I don't want to be punished." I say a hint of anger in my voice at his behavior.

"Don't raise your voice at me!"

I burst out in laughter unconsciously. "Why? Because you are an Alpha and can't stand being yelled at?" I ask.

"Don't make me angry. Stand up!" He commands, his hands grabbing unto me to heaven me up from the floor.

"Why? I'm not going with you." I struggled to my feet, snatching my hand away from him, I noticed his eyes flash gold and Inna flash, he pulled me roughly against him and sank his teeth into the nape of my neck.
