Chapter Chapter thirty six
I carried a black bag and stuffed it up with some clothes and carried it. I put on black leggings and a black long-sleeved bodysuit. I put on shoes and walked out of the room I was starting to feel like it was mine. But sometimes we have to let go no matter how hard to become a better version of ourselves.
walked into chaos. There is no other way to describe the scene before me. An angry Lucian. His fangs were out, his claws visible as I howled. I looked at Rietta but she quickly looked away from me. Weird. I looked at Lucy who looked like she knew exactly what was going on. With the smug smile on her face, I feared she had done something again.
“Who went in there!” Lucian growled.
“Where?” I asked.
“My personal library was raided last night and my book is missing!”
Wait, I am with his book but I never went into his library last night? I looked at Lucy who only rolled her eyes at me before she faced Lucian again.
“Why don't we search. We can begin with Raina’s room” She suggested.
“I was not in the library last night!” I defended myself quickly.
“Then who stole my oldest book and broke the glass on which it was kept last night” I stared at him dumbfounded. One I did not break anything and two did he really think I would destroy his library.
“Do you seriously think I would destroy your library, Lucian?” I screamed at him. His claws and fangs were back in now. He looked at me for a while before answering.
“A little searching will do us no harm, will it?” He asked. I wanted to badly break down. He will never trust me and sincerely I didn't want to try anymore. I looked at Henrietta. I know he will find his book but I will explain I didn't take the book yesterday night? Or I wasn't the one that destroyed his library.
“Fine! Check. I was leaving anyway” I snapped hiking my bag up.
“You were going to leave me?” He interrogated
“Don’t act as you want me here!” I shouted. Henrietta walked over to us and held her brother’s shoulders.
“Let her be Lucian,” She said. Lucian moved away and Rietta hugged me.
“Ri, I promise I was not in there last night” I explained as tears fell but I was quick to clean them before anyone saw me weak, crying.
“I believe you” She whispered patting my back.
“Let’s get on with the search” Lucy announced.
“It’s not needed. We can just get the library fixed and talk about how to find the book” Henrietta countered. Lucy looked angry.
“What is wrong with you Rietta? Why do you trust this devil so much” She screamed.
“This is not about trust, it's simple human decency!”
“I doubt she knows what that means” Lucy continued.
“Be careful when you talk to me Lucy, I am not Lucian and you know that fully”
“What does that mean?” Lucian asked angrily.
“It means I just don't believe anyone because I've known them longer. Don't you see what is happening here? Since Riana got here Lucy has shown her disinterest and suddenly they both hate each other and you think Lucy is in the right here!” She screamed at her brother. Lucian did not say anything but leave it to Lucy to blab.
“Or maybe you are just falling for her pitiful story she has fed you with to see how much of a self-entitled bitch that she is” Lucy let out.
“Or maybe Lucy, you are the self-titled bitch. Here is something you don't want to acknowledge, Raina, is the Luna of this pack and it is time you started to respect her because any more disrespect from you I will take the right actions against you without caring about Lucian” I held her hand.
“It’s fine Ri.” I tried to stop her from the argument with Lucy but she wouldn't stop.
“Stop them!” I screamed at Lucian who still stood staring at everything unfolding before him.
“Why do you act like an idiot all the time?” I entreated angrily.
“There is only much disrespect I can take from you Raina. Watch the way you talk to me!”
“That’s all you care about, respect. Fuck the respect when you can't even be a good alpha” I yelled at him.
“Alpha” A guard called. I looked up the same time he did and see the big old brown book in his hands.
“This was found in the Luna’s room” He announced. Lucy looked pleased with herself.
“You knew you had the book all this while?” He asked. Not caring about anything anymore I answered his question.
“Yes. I did not go in there yesterday. Maybe if you listened to me you would have known I had the book for a while now. It's clear that I am not wanted here” I said turning away. I looked back to face Lucy.
“I apologized to you Lucy but you made it clear you would not let go of the grudge from over then years ago, what did you expect from me? Continue to beg you for being a child when I was a child? Grow up, Lucy?”
I walked away from the packhouse not sure of what I was going to do with myself. I just knew I just had to leave.
