Little bites, alpha(to be taken down for editing)

It's been exactly three days since I got back into the packhouse. To my surprise, the beautiful room I was admiring was actually Lucian’s room but I left the room that night. I stayed in my room and cried myself to sleep.

The next morning when I woke up Henrietta walked In with a wooden tray of food. I smiled at her in appreciation. She also didn't talk but nodded at me.

When I was done eating my breakfast she helped me clean up because it was hard to move. After I slept my body became weak because did not do anything. I staggered against Ri as she took me to the bathroom. She let the water run in the bathtub before helping me in.

She poured the content of my body wash into the body scrub and helped me. We both went to the closet that still has the things I bought not unpacked yet. She picked out a long gown for me and helped me back to the bed.

When it was the afternoon she came back with water and food. I drowned my throat with the whole jug because I was really thirsty. I munched on my food slowly. When she came for dinner I closed my eyes, pretending to be asleep. She left with the food.

The second day went exactly like that too but I am not about to make the third day like that so I already had my bath and was ready for her. When she walked inside she did not talk to me as usual. She left the food and waited for me to eat like she always did but I did not eat.

“Eat up” She finally said.

“Ri, I am sorry” I apologised. She supported me in front of all those people and the book was with me at the end of the day.

“Not now Raina” She breathed.

“I just want to talk Ri, please” I beg to let my tears fall. She's the only one I could be vulnerable with. I trust her.

“Fine” She mumbled sitting down on my bed. I sat up and held her hands.

“I am sorry you fought for me and the book was found with me” I started.

“You shouldn't apologise for what you did not do Rain,” She said. I rose my brows in confusion.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“The book was found with you Raina but I know you did not take it that night. You did not destroy the library. Lucy did” She clarified.

“How do you know?” I asked.

“Lucian might deny that he does not know Lucy still practices magic but we both know it is obvious. I don't know why he does not acknowledge this but the library was destroyed but no wolf could do that much damage without leaving a print or at least blood behind. Only someone who could do it without being inside could have done it and Lucy is the only hybrid we have”

“Thank you for trusting me Ri. I owe you” I thanked her pulling her into a hug. She laughed and hugged me back too.

“You are my friend now Raina. I'll always be here for you” She promised.

“I wish we met under a different circumstance” I let out. She nodded in agreement.

“I agree. But Raina I have a question” She sounded so serious that I had to stop everything that seemed like a joke.

“Ask away” I tried not to sound anxious but I knew I did not do a good job doing that.

“Why don't you want to give anyone a chance? I'm not talking about my idiotic brother” I chuckled at that and she gave me a small smile.

“Honestly, I get that I have not made it easy for anyone to reach out to me. I do not want a repeat of what happened to me in the past. Our pack trusted them and see how it ended for the rest of us? I really tried to trust everyone but how can I do that when the only people have met don't even show a hint that they want me around” I confessed.

“My parents were anxious to meet you but you didn't give them a chance” She reminded me.

“I’m sorry I took their kindness for granted. I was being defensive which isn't very fair on your very sweet mother” I apologized cleaning my tears. She rocks my shoulder gently.

“It’s fine. You just apologize to them and I promise you will become the best of friends” She assured me.

“Are you sure? I'm sure your dad hates me right now” I lamented dramatically. Ri laughed at this.

“Don’t be so dramatic. Once my mother is fine I'm sure he will be able to suck it up” She exposed. I smiled.

“Thank you for being here Ri. When do I apologize to them?”

“All that can wait until you get better love so please get better first and I will help you apologise to them” She promised.

“Is Lucian in the packhouse” I was really curious.

“Yes”

“And he didn't bother to see me” Not like I expected him to. Ok maybe a little but still, argh.

“He's probably just very busy. You know how it gets for Alpha’s sometimes” She tried to make an excuse for him.

“I know you love him and you will always look out for him but he had no reason not to see me. Does he have a past with Lucy?” I asked.

“What? No! Never. He's just being stupid right now. I can help you get back at him if you want” She smirked. I smiled warming up to the idea.

“I’m liking the sound of that”

“I will come up with something but now you need to rest” She stood up to leave and I stopped.

“Wait”

“What is it, Raina?”

“Do you think I'm being too hard on him? Like I'm not giving him enough time?” I asked.

“From his perspective, he probably thinks you are not giving him any chance to prove that he wants this to work but that does not justify how he has been handling things around here”

“I don't want this to be like this forever. You know fighting with him and Lucy. I really don't want this” I admitted. She smiled.

“Jack is back now Lucy will come around that I'm sure of. About my brother, I really don't know but whatever it is don't settle with him until you make him work for it” She kissed my cheeks and left me to my thoughts.
