Chapter Chapter eight
"I'm really tired, what is it that seemed so important that you had to order me to listen to you?" I asked.
"Nothing really."
"Nothing?" I ask in disbelief, as I let out a dry laugh.
"We don't like being disrespected but you were out of line tonight." Lucian scolded and I scoffed.
"Was I?" I feigned innocence. "Of course, I've been disrespected all my life and I shouldn't care that my own mate is too weak to stand up for me!" I spat angrily.
"I'm not weak. I won't let you question my strength and authority in my own home, never!" Lucian rose, pointing an accusing finger at me.
"I already did." I mocked, resting my back against the headboard as I stared down at my nails.
"Then don't do it again or else-" He started to say I cut him off, sparing me a glare.
"Hit me? Didn't take you to be the type to hit women." I smirked, enjoying how much I riled him up, I watched him clench his fist and turn away from me angrily.
"I would never do that." He said through gritted teeth.
"I wouldn't be surprised since you already claimed me without my permission." I said again and this time he sighed, every trace of his anger dissolving quickly.
"That was a mistake." He said. "I already apologized for that, why can't you let it go?" He turned to me curiously, and in those bright eyes I noticed a trace of remorse in them.
"Seems like you would have rejected me if you weren't so out of control."
"I will never do that. Only a coward tries to hinder the work of the goddess."
"And only a coward watches his Luna being disrespected in front of his pack." I argued back, folding my arms in front of me.
"I see this conversation is not getting us both anywhere." He said, rising to his feet tiredly as he touched his nose.
"It actually is."
"How?" Lucian asked.
"I already know you love your reputation more than anything in the world."
"See, this is not an adult conversation." He snapped, glaring furiously at me once more.
"Well, last I checked, an adult conversation requires two adults and I only see one adult here. If you would excuse me I need to sleep, I have training to catch up tomorrow morning." I said, turning away from him and snatching back the duvet as I went under the covers.
"We still need to talk. The next full moon is tomorrow." Lucian said and I closed my eyes turning my back to him as I pretended not to listen.
I heard him sigh before his footsteps faded towards the door and he slammed it shut carefully not before I felt his lingering gaze on me.
I opened my eyes. The full moon was tomorrow? A pang of fear shot up my spine and I sighed, closing my eyes once more as I let sleep overtake me. For the first time in a while I felt at peace and I wasn't going to let anyone, even Lucy, disrespect me because I was a Luna now.

I rub my eyes as the sun shone down on my face. I opened my eyes to the bright lights above me. The sound of wolf's howling during their morning rounds filled my ears from a distance.
I stretched, yawned before I got down from the bed, remembering the training I had today. Excitement filled me, I was finally doing something that didn't require hard labor. I had sneaked to train in my last pack and enjoyed it. Now I could do as much as I wanted here.
I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and cleaned my face before stepping out. I pulled out a black sport bra and leggings I had used for training since I was eighteen. The top felt tighter than usual but it was all I got. I tied my hair up before leaving the room.
As I slammed the door shut and headed down the hallway a voice spoke from behind me and I turned to see Lucy, she pushed herself from the wall and smirked at me.
"What do you want?" I glared at her, watching her carefully as she stepped closer to me, her scent filled my nose. Chocolate.
"Your clothes are clearly not your size or is there an ulterior motive?" Lucy smiled deviously, folding her hands.
"You tell me." I resorted, raising a brow at her.
"I think you want to seduce every unmated wolf here." She said, nodding her head at her statement. I bit back a laugh.
"Watch out, I like them mated already." I challenged, I watched the look of surprise flash across her face and I stepped back, a wicked smile curled my lips.
Two can play the game.
"See you Lucy." I said, blowing her a kiss before walking away from her.
I instantly regretted not asking her where the training ground was as I stood outside the pack house, looking around in confusion.
Henrietta was nowhere to be found either, I had looked around the pack house and I still couldn't find her and I didn't want to speak to anyone else.
I shielded my face from the sun as I turned to the right path just after the pack house since the left side was the entrance. A woman taking her son to school passed me, I noticed the confusion in her eyes but she said nothing.
The scent of earth and mint waffled through my nose and I knew whose scent it was instantly. I followed it and came into a huge clearing where about twenty wolves stood. I counted thirteen males and seven females among them was Henrietta, who wore a really expensive sportswear.
"Raina!" Rietta acknowledged my presence with a smile as she ran towards me to give me a hug.
"I'm glad you could make it." She said and I gave a tight smile before nodding as we went back to the front of the others.
I noticed they were young teens who must have just undergone their first shift. I ignored the confused look they threw at me.
I looked around expecting to see Lucian, but the green eyed Alpha was nowhere to be found.
"He just left." Rietta informs me, a huge smile on her face. I raised my brow at her pretending not to understand her. She laughed at my attempt to play dumb but said nothing else.
"Huh?"
"You know who I am talking about, Lucian, he just left." She said again and I feigned surprise.
"Oh I see."
A part of me was hurt that he might have left when he caught my scent. I shook the thought away as I looked around the training area, excitement filled my veins once more.
"He will be back soon but I don't think he would appreciate your sport bra." Henrietta pointed out, stifling down a fit of laughter.
"He doesn't have to." I shrugged nonchalantly.
"This is why I like you so much." Henrietta laughed but stopped immediately as her eyes caught something behind me.
The sound of cries and angry footsteps followed from behind me as Lucian's scent filled my nose one more.
