Chapter The Mysterious Tree
“Once upon a time, there was a tree; and that tree was so tall that nobody could even see where the top of it was!
People would attempt to climb the tree, but then they would never return…
“What is the meaning of this?!?” people would ask, as they stared up through the branches and wondered what had become of those who’d dared to climb the mysterious and somewhat scary tree.
Then, one day, a married couple named Siris and Kifah decided to risk climbing the tree together; though many of their family members and friends begged them not to go.
“Please! Nobody has ever come back! Why do this???”
“Just look at the bright futures that you have ahead of you! Why throw them away to scale some creepy tree?!?”
“I forbid you to do it! If you ever had any respect for me at all!, you’ll change your minds and not do this stupid thing.”
Kifah and Siris were too curious about the mysterious tree to heed the warnings of their friends and family, though; and so they both packed some things and began to climb the tree.
At first, they could hear the calls of their loved ones begging for them to climb back down before it was too late!; but those voices eventually turned into mere echos, and then disappeared entirely.
It turned out the there were lots of different kinds of fruit to eat, and there was enough dew on some of the leaves that they could drink water right out of them!
Assuming that the tree continued to have all of this food and liquid available to them as they climbed, they figured that they could survive like this until they reached quite old ages.
But, then, Siris suggested that the two of them should try climbing back down and returning to the others.
After all, wouldn’t it be kinda cool if they were the first two to ever return from climbing out of sight?
Kifah agreed that they may as well give it a try, but said that first they should take a second to make love while they were all the way up in the sky.
After all, wouldn’t it be awesome if they were to create a child while they were up so high in the mysterious tree?
Siris agreed, and began to act very romantically towards Kifah, and she acted very romantically towards him as well.
There’s no need to get into all of the details, but let’s just say that they were both feeling very giddy and happy about life indeed by the time that they began climbing down the tree.
Amazingly!, they actually succeeded in climbing back down!
There were no obstacles at all!
“Whooooooaaaaaa…” the others who were gathered at the bottom of the tree gasped in astonishment, “How could this even be possible?”
“It was actually really easy.” Kifah assured them, to which Siris added, “Yeah! I imagine that maybe the others who’ve climbed the tree are also safe! Maybe they just liked it so much that they didn’t want to come back down.”
“Well, $#!+, then!” one person yelled, “What are we waiting for?! Let’s all climb the tree! It’s clearly safe!”
Everyone agreed, and they all climbed the tree.
Siris and Kifah decided that maybe they’d climb the tree again later; but they wanted to wait a bit before doing that.
Soon enough, a pregnancy test revealed that Kifah was with child; and her and Siris knew that the baby must have been conceived when they’d made love on the tree, which made them very excited! What a story to tell their child!
After a while, the child was born; and Kifah and Siris were shocked to find that she could already run around and speak!
“Sorry, Mom and Dad;” she said, a bit regretfully, “but I have to save all of the others who climbed up the tree! They need my help!”
Kifah and Siris tried to stop their newborn daughter from immediately running to where the tree was and climbing it, but she was too fast for them!
They desperately climbed the tree after her, but she was soon out of sight…
They continued climbing up after her for many years, and eventually reached a place where the tree led them to a land that looked kind of similar to Earth but kind of different too.
The tree continued going upwards, but there was enough land that they had the option of either continuing to climb or walking about on the land for a while.
They decided to walk a bit, and soon saw a pretty short looking figure running towards them from off in the distance.
As the figure got closer, they wondered if this could be their daughter!, and soon found out that she was indeed.
“Dad! Mom!” she said, happily, “I saved all of the people here from the evil monsters who were holding them captive, and now they’re all living happily ever after!”
Siris and Kifah were overjoyed to be reunited with their daughter, and hugged her, and told her how much they loved her and how proud of her they were!
Then, their daughter asked them what her name was.
“I never bothered to find out after being born, because I was in such a hurry to save everyone!” she explained, “But I have been quite curious about it for all of these years.”
Her parents informed her that her name was Ebba, and then asked if she was going to stay in this land or if she was going to continue climbing the tree.
Ebba told them that she’d only stayed on the land for so long because she’d been waiting for them, and said that her destiny was indeed to continue climbing the tree, though she wasn’t sure what might await her up there.
“Would you two like to climb the tree with me?” she asked, and Kifah and Siris both agreed to come along, and the three of them began climbing up the tree…”
