Chapter Billionaire My Husband 302

PART 3-Letting My Best Friend's Brother Take My V-Card JESS

"Come on. It's the last game of the season! The snow isn't that bad!" I mumbled as we drove out to the stadium to watch our husbands play the final game.

"This baby is right on my bladder. I swear, one bump and we'll need to reupholster this car," Laura groaned, watching the snow fall outside as headlights passed. "It's like minus 40 out there. How are they even going to play?" she asked, shifting uncomfortably. I shrugged, keeping my eyes on the icy road ahead as we approached a stoplight. "You know them. Once they're on the field, nothing else matters. Can you believe we're going to be parents together?"

She laughed, resting a hand on her growing belly. "You're already a parent, remember? Beautiful little girl, currently being spoiled rotten by your mom back home."

I grinned. "Yeah, but this time, we get to do it together!" Excitement bubbled up in my chest, and I couldn't help but glance at her with a wide smile. "I swear, this girl is going to break my ribs," she muttered, leaning back against the seat.

The car slowed to a stop at the red light, the glow of the traffic signal illuminating the snowflakes that swirled outside. I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel, humming softly. Laura shifted

in her seat, the faint sound of something sliding in the back catching her attention.

"Ugh, hang on," she said, fumbling to reach around her belly for the phone that had slipped between the seats. She unbuckled her seatbelt to get a better angle the soft chime of a

notification sounding just as she grasped the edge of the phone.

"Got it," she said, holding it up triumphantly.

A chill ran down my spine as I caught sight of something in the rearview mirror. "Laura..."

Something in my voice must have alarmed her because she froze. "What?" she asked, her tone suddenly sharp.

"Lights," I whispered. "They're not stopping."

Panic surged through me as I stared at the bright headlights barreling down on us, far too fast for the icy conditions. My hand shot to the gear shift, but the sound of screeching brakes filled the air. Time seemed to stretch as the truck drew closer. I heard Laura scrambling for her seatbelt, but it was too late.

The impact came with a deafening crash, the force slamming us forward as metal crumpled around us. My breath left me in a rush, and for a moment, everything went dark. When I opened my eyes, the car was eerily still, the world outside blurred by snow and tears. "Laura?" My voice was barely a whisper, shaky and broken.

She didn't respond. Her head slumped against the seat, her face pale. Fear gripped me as I reached out, shaking her. "Laura!

Another jolt rocked the car as the truck backed away, its engine groaning. My pulse thundered in my ears as I glanced down and saw blood. My hands trembled as I reached for her stomach, my own breathing shallow. "The baby..."

Tears blurred my vision as I shook her again. "Laura, please!"

The sound of sirens pierced the cold night air, growing louder with every passing second. Red and blue lights flashed across the snow-covered street, illuminating the wreckage. My heart. pounded as I turned to look outside, desperate for help. "Hold on, Laura. They're coming," I whispered, my voice cracking. I pressed my hand against her cheek, willing her to wake up.

The wail of the sirens grew deafening as emergency vehicles surrounded us. Paramedics rushed to the car, their voices loud and urgent over the chaos. I stayed frozen, my hand never leaving Laura as they worked to pry open the door and pull us to safety. When the EMTs finally reached us, Laura kept calling out for Josh, but then suddenly, she was quiet.

"Laura! Laura! I need to know if she's okay!" I called as EMT's pulled me out and strapped me to a gurney. "Let them help her ma'am. We need to make sure you and the baby are okay. "The paramedic said, but his voice was fading, getting lost between all the sirens. 12.23
